As she had both feared and hoped, Isaroth chose to rise early on the
morning of the eleventh day. It was so early that it sent Yasmeane
stumbling out of her bed. She didn't fear the flight part. What she
dreaded was waking up with a random person. On the other hand, she
_had_ hoped Isaroth would rise soon just so the proddiness would end.

Yanking her nightgown over her head and jerking on pants and a
sweater, the greenrider stamped into her boots and darted out of her
weyr for the flight rooms.

Isaroth's hulking form, the size of a small blue dragon, descending
into the feeding pens for a quick pick-me-up breakfast. She made short
work of feasting on the herdbeast before casting its carcass aside and
bolting into the air with a shrill scream that echoed through the
cliffs of Dragonsfall.

}:Rise and shine, boys!:{ she called.

}:I'm awake!:{ Kohath bugled back. Having spent nearly every day with
the younger green for the past six months, the bronze had been well
aware that she was near rising.

X'eri had been nudged awake by Kohath, who had been watching the
green's glowing, sleeping form, about an hour earlier, so he was
prepared for the trip to the flight rooms.

}:I’m awake too!:{ Tribeth was in high spirits as he woke J’nne and
lept down to join Kohath.

“Wait…wha…?” J’nne blinked his eyes open, surprised and confused. What
time was it? He caught his bronze’s lustful thoughts and rolled out of
bed. There was no use complaining that it was far too early for all
this. **Who?** he asked as he quickly threw a tunic over his bed
clothes. It was so early he was just going to risk that not many would
figure he was wearing his bedclothes underneath.

}:Isaroth! She’s beautiful!:{

So that meant Yasmeane, a fellow harper. He thought about her guitar
playing as he trotted down to the Flight rooms. She was quite good,
maybe if he caught her they could play some duets after.

}: Rise and shine indeed, :{ purred the summer sky blue Vorquinth as
he caught sight of Isaroth glowing. }: Wake up, N'thal. You're going
to like this. :{ It didn't matter that his rider was already _in_ bed
with another greenrider. He was going to catch this one as well!

"Really?" D'ale said before he even opened his eyes. But there was no
fighting it and he rolled out of his solitary bed and threw on the
clothes he'd laid out the night before. Then running his fingers
through his longish hair trotted down to the flight room. **It's
Threadfall today, what are you thinking.**

}:I want her,:{ was all he got back from Torerath.

It was early, and although a headache was already having its way with
him, Th'reyos _had_ expected to retain some ability to ignore the
greenflight; blink it away and fall back into his conversation, take a
deep breath and resume his sizzling debate with the cook over sausage,
like "So then, taking a knife, you split them on one end, and there you
have it: ‘Dragon Tails'." "Ah, yeah I can see that. That's pretty good."
"But then, I had to wonder who would ask for a bite of that in a hold?"
"Ha! Well, you'd be surprise--

but that option only applied if his dragon _wasn’t_ interested.

Meaning that Isaroth's shrill cry jerked the pair's heads up like a
shining, newly discovered sound. Th'reyos gently tilted toward it, and
sure enough, just when his rebuttal about the cook's sausage was lost,
all at once the urge to move, fly, claim, take-- **Zar,** he asked
blithely, already following his dragon's path through the ceiling.
**Right now?**

}: Yes _right now_. :{ Zarkarth's stinging roar flooded the air in
response. }: And _hurry up_! I can already tell we're going to fly just
right together! :{

Rhalith leaned out from his ledge and watched eagerly as the glowing
green swooped down on her prey. He felt his rider stirring, his mind
drowsy at first, then suddenly wide awake, energy surging through their
bond.

**Who is she?** L'keri asked as he emerged onto the ledge, yawning as he
pulled a shirt over his head. It was early - but dragon and rider both
agreed that it was never too early for a green's flight!

}:Isaroth. She is in Chioneth's Wing. Hurry, we will miss her!:{ He
waited just long enough for L'keri to scramble onto his back before
descending on the feeding grounds. The brownrider's feet had barely hit
the ground before he leapt into the air after her, bugling a challenge
to the other males.

X'eri glanced around at the other riders in the room. He didn't think
any of them would be rude to Yasmeane after the flight, but he also
knew how _prickly_ the greenrider was, which made him worry that she
would be unhappy with anyone who won. For her sake... he hoped he and
Kohath won, then he could guarantee the kind of experience she would
have.

Yasmeane's eyes locked with X'eri's for a moment. The presence of the
bronzerider made her feel... better? Less alone in a chaotic ritual.

Isaroth demanded her full attention then as she took to the skies. The
ground beneath was a dizzying whirl of shapes and colors as Yasmeane
fully joined with Isaroth. }:Let's go for a ride,:{ Isaroth said to
Yasmeane as they banked sharply and then barrel-rolled into the
clouds.

Torerath vaulted after her but not quite as quickly as the blues. His
competition was always the bronzes but he was on the large side of
brown and a very experienced and elegant suitor of green lovelies. He
courted them both on the ground and in the skies.

Vorquinth careened in wide arcs that brought him close and then far
again, creating whorls of wasted energy that was his way of showing off.
}: You know you want me, :{ he purred.

Rhalith held back for now, not attempting to try and match Isaroth's
acrobatics but trusting in his greater stamina. When the more agile
blues tired, that would be the time to make his move with a sudden burst
of speed. The tactic had worked for him before, but he didn't neglect to
show off either, neatly cutting in front of a younger brown with a proud
flick of his tail.

L'val groaned at the sound of a green rising. **At the crack of
dawn?** he thought, not knowing if it was dawn or not - but too
sharding early, and the noise would make it impossible to go back to
sleep. Sometimes, the desire to yell at a rising dragon to be quiet
ran rampant through his head. Meanwhile, running rampant through his
body was a reaction to it. **You're going for it?** At Kyverth's
acknowledgment, he pulled on a pair of loose trousers for the job to
the flight weyrs, not even bothering with a shirt. He'd lose it to a
winner or a moth.

}:I will have her,:{ Kyverth declared as he sprung into the skies.
Isaroth was a large and lovely green and he liked the way she flew. He
followed her attentively.

A dragon that was more of a show-off while chasing was blue Ishath.
He'd heard Isaroth's call and followed her to the pens, with Kadira
complaining to him about it the whole time. She enjoyed waking up and
taking a bath before many others were up, and having to run to the
flight rooms with dripping hair was just the worst. But Ishath didn't
care, so she sighed and decided to make the best of it.

Now that he was in the skies, he was determined to show off for her.
He narrowed his wings to slip through a gap between another blue and a
bigger bronze, using speed and agility to clear them, then arrowed
upward. }:Beautiful, large, strong Isaroth, consider me,:{ he crowed.

Isaroth wasn't a green who cared a lot about pretty words, she wanted
a male to prove to her his physical prowess by leaving her no option
but to be caught! She wove through the skies like a bobbin in the
hands of a Master Weaver. She flew until her muscles burned. She flew
until a strong pair of talons and a pair of blue wings plucked her out
of the skies.

Ishath's neck and tail wrapped around Isaroth and he bugled his
delight in his first catch. On the ground, Kadira had been standing at
the outskirts of the room, so she had to push her way through the men
blocking her from Yasmeane, pulling the greenrider into her arms and
mashing their lips together in an awkward and clumsy kiss.
