Description: Quinneth Rises
Location: Barrier Lake Weyr
Date: month 7, day 1 of Turn 10
When Jeyme stumbled out of D'hol's weyr, she already had the
disheveled appearance of someone in midflight, even though Quinneth
was just leaping onto a buck in the feeding pens at that very moment.
The greenrider's shirt was partly open and the laces of her breeches
were parted. Her lips were swollen from kisses and her short hair was
tousled.
She trailed one hand along the wall to keep her balance as she focused
on putting one foot in front of the other on her way to the flight
rooms.
D'hol emerged a moment later, a look of irritable, frustrated lust on
his face. Being interrupted just as he'd gotten started had shot his
desire to win this flight into a priority. He watched her as she
walked, then with a growl, scooped Jeyme up in his arms and strode
towards the flightrooms, carrying her there. He set her down gently
and stepped back, taking his place in the circle of men that was
beginning to form. His eyes never left her for a moment.
D'arvn was already there for Falzeth had expressed his desire for
Quinneth. He took his usual position amongst the other riders around
the prize.
F'lin followed him in, however when he noticed the possessive way
D'hol was looking at Jeyme he felt a bit worried. D'hol was his
Wingleader and they were still getting used to each other. What would
happen if Seneth caught Quinneth?
Rogueth had bellowed and leapt into the sky after Quinneth, despite
K'ran not thinking it was a good idea. He and Jeyme had worked
together at Dolphin Cove and though she wasn't his Wingthird here, he
didn't want that professional relationship to be disrupted by the
awkwardness of his dragon catching hers - nor did he want his dragon
to catch any green not Ashareth right now, anyway...
Jeyme swayed on her feet, barely even registering that she had been
carried to the flight room. In the midst of the men she stood, for a
moment looking like an empty shell, but then when Quinneth tossed down
a herdbeast and leapt into the skies, Jeyme's face lit, her eyes
filling with a lusty gleam as she melded minds with her dragon. Now
she was powerful and confident, her face and body inviting the men
toward her as Quinneth called enticingly to the male's in the air.
The green frolicked in the skies, exultant in her speed and agility as
she spiraled upwards, rocketing upwards on a current that shot her
into a thick patch of clouds.
Falzeth darted after her at the head of the pack. He was blue and he
was almost as agile as she. He warbled his undying admiration and
tried to keep close enough not to lose her in the clouds.
Yumath wasn't the first off of the ground in an effort to chase the
darting green, but he was one of the steadiest. He knew the green
well, had caught her before, and knew her antics and tricks. But the
much smaller blue had gotten off the ground faster than he. Yumath
sent surges of lust and desire to the glowing green, eyes locked into
the clouds as he stayed below and behind them, waiting.
Rogueth took off and leapt after Quinneth. He needed the green, needed
to catch, needed to sate himself. He'd flown with her before and
though it had been awhile he found himself recognizing how she flew.
}:We fly well together! We will dance and fall in glory,:{ he
promised.
Quinneth listened to none of the males as she danced through the sky,
swerving here and there and changing directions with the snap of her
long tail as an anchor. On the ground, Jeyme wove herself between the
men, her fingertips trailing along their tunics.
Falzeth's turns weren't quite as snappy as Quinneth but he favored
this green and wasn't too far out of reach should she make a wrong
move. Though he didn't lumber through the skies like the much bigger
bronzes chasing her. He warbled and continued to stay as close as he
could.
F'lin shivered as Jeyme passed him by, and the light touch drove
Seneth forward and a little higher in the sky. The bronze dragon
slipped through the air and let the sunshine sparkle off his wide
wingtips, deliberately casting his shadow over the dragons who flew a
little lower and dulling their hides. Quinneth would want to go
skyward at some point and see how magnificent he was.
Rogueth found himself locked in competition with Seneth and Yumath.
Three leading bronzes of the Weyr, all after the same green. They knew
how each other flew in Fall, and they knew how this green flew. It
meant he was trying to out-predict both Quinneth and his rivals for
her.
Quinneth liked this pack of males, they were all dragons that she knew
well, dragons that she respected, or dragons that had been mated to
her before. The best male would have to win, she decided as she banked
and then dropped beneath the cloud cover.
D'hol's eyes followed Jeyme, much like Yumath's glowing eyes followed
the green in the air, his skin prickling with familiar lust at her
touch. Like her green, she teased, and like his bronze, he desired
her.
Yumath, steady and sure, watched Quinneth as she gamboled in the air;
patience marking his every wingbeat. }: Quinneth, I will take you high
and far, then we will fall together as before. I am the one for you,
sweet green. :{ He banked away from the shadow that Seneth threw, but
kept his eyes on Quinneth, jostling aside a smaller brown.
As always the lumbering bronzes thought they owned the skies and
forgot about how mobile blue could be. Falzeth was designed to dart
around bronzes and he did just that once again. Their blockade
couldn't keep _him_ away from beautiful Quinneth. He was through and
back on her tail before they could begin to block him. }:Pick me
beautiful,:{ he inveigled her.
Seneth rumbled his displeasure as Falzeth sped past, but he forgot
about the blue dragon as the light glinted off Quinneth's gleaming
green hide. }:Let's fly together,:{ he called, even as F'lin far
below, watched hungrily as Jeyme walked between the dragonmen, his
skin aching with the need to touch her.
Quinneth spiraled, not quite ready to end her fun, but found herself
tangled suddenly with a compact, bronze body. Rogueth! On the ground,
Jeyme flung herself at K'ran.
While as a bronze Rogueth was more sizable than Falzeth, he was still
able to use his chance to get between the two bigger bronzes who'd
been fighting over her. They were high and waiting for the climb, she
was twisting, and while Falzeth broke left, he broke right and caught
her mid turn. On the ground, K'ran caught Jeyme and pulled her against
him, pressing his lips against hers and pulling at her shirt even as
he stumbled them both into the flight cot.
