J'ackt

J'ackt stopped, looking down at Alina with growing frustration. He'd
tried everything in his repertoire and she hadn't made a single sound;
it wasn't like her and it killed any desire for him to continue. With
a huff, he rolled and laid on his back to stare at the ceiling.
Rubbing his face, he looked at the rough stone pattern and spoke
softly. "What's wrong?"

Alina rolled over so that she could press her body hopefully against
J'ackt's. Her body ached in frustration, hating that he'd suddenly
abandoned her. "Nothing's wrong. Is something wrong?"

"Something is. Was I hurting you or something?" The expression on her
face when he'd been trying to pleasure her had been intent on
something much different than what he'd been doing. "You acted like I
was or that you were just barely tolerating what I was doing. If
you're not in the mood, all you have to do is say so. "

"That's not true!" Alina stuck her lower lip out in a pout and
snuggled a little closer. "Everything was just fine and then _you_
stopped."

He turned his head to look at her. "You weren't responding, Alina. I
know when you're enjoying yourself and you weren't." He rolled to face
her, enjoying the snuggle, but was not moved to continue. "You
were...quiet. you're never that quiet. "

Alina flushed bright red. "Well... that's because... because people complained."

He frowned, blinked and then half-sat up to stare at her. He didn't
quite believe what he was hearing. "What? What do you mean people
complained?"

The greenrider covered her face with her hands. "You heard me! And
that's the problem. People... _hear_ us."

J'ackt looked down at her, then moved her hands away from her face.
"Who complained? And so what? I like knowing that what I'm doing is
good for you. I love knowing that. That's what should matter.
Besides..." He looked at the walls. "Look how thick the walls of the
weyr are. You're not _that_ loud, sweetheart."

She couldn't meet his eyes. "I'm pretty sure that half the Weyr would
disagree with you. The walls aren't _that_ thick."

"Hey..." He cupped her chin to try to get her to look in his eyes.
"You shouldn't be ashamed that you're enjoying yourself and feeling
good. The people that complain are jealous because they're not getting
the same. And, I think you've made me make some loud noises too, if
you think about it. Don't be ashamed of it, Alina. People need to mind
their own fecking business." He sighed. "Who told you and what did
they say?"

"It doesn't matter! If one person heard, then a whole bunch of them
did," Alina said. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her face
in his shoulder. It was easier to tell him if she didn't have to look
at his face when she did. "And-- and I refuse to be known as the woman
who _yodels_."

"Yodels?" He groaned with an exhale, unsure of how to reassure her.
"Faranth, Alina, why do you care so much about what other people
think? I _like_it. It fecking matters to me and _they_ aren't in our
bed. Stop worrying about what they think!"

"Easy enough for _you_ to say," she muttered. Half the Weyr had
already _been_ in his bed. And he wasn't being accused of yodeling
between the furs. "How'd you feel walking into the Dining Cavern if
everyone said you sounded like-- like a rutting ovine?" She screwed up
her face and summoned up a memory from the fields of her cothold.
"Maaaah---UH, Maaah--UH." She opened her eyes to glare at him. "Like
that!"

He stared at her for a long moment, mouth twitching in an effort not
to burst out laughing. But J'ackt failed miserably, sputtering out a
laugh at her mimicry. He fell back, trying to stop the snickers, but
was only able to snort between the gales that erupted. "It's
not...like... that..." He wiped at his eyes. "The was...one..girl I
heard who....mothing in a flight room next to me," he caught his
breath, "she screamed like a wher in heat." He mimicked the high
pitched screech and ended it with a quavering stuttering moan. "I
heard so much flopping around and thumps that I thought the rider was
going to come out broken or maimed." He repeated the cry, then began
laughing again, holding his sides.

"Stop it!" Alina whacked his arm, then started laughing too. The knot
of anxiety in her chest began to relax. It was hard to hold onto her
embarrassment when J'ackt was acting like such a wher himself. "If you
ever make that sound in bed again, I'll-- I'll-- maaah-UH! back at
you!"

His eyes glinted, and he gave the screech again, but this time he
ended it with moaning her name, shaking his head quickly to make the
sound stuttering. He continued, making his voice high pitched and
falsetto as she smacked him. "Yes, Alina! Like that! More!" Then he
started laughing again as he imagined what anyone listening might be
thinking.

"Just-- stop it!" It was hard to get the words out, she was laughing
so hard. Alina rolled on top of him and covered his mouth with her
hands to muffle the sound. "You're _awful_!"

He rolled his eyes dramatically, moaning as loud as he could with his
mouth muffled beneath her palms. But the sounds were choked with
laughter, his entire chest shaking with mirth. He moved her hands,
took a breath and prepared for a louder moan, then burst out with
gales of laughter, tears leaking from the corners of his eyes. "The
look on your face!"

"What are you saying about my face?!" she demanded in mock-outrage.

"You looked so...surprised!" His laugh was hurting his sides and he held one hand to his ribs, trying to rub the ache. Wiping his eyes, he shook his head, still snickering. "Faranth, I love you, woman."

"You're an idiot." She bent to kiss him, making it clear that although she'd said one thing, what she was really saying was, 'I love you too'.
