*******

Even though he was exhausted, and the bed felt amazing, Thayde rolled
out of it with a purpose. He wanted to spend some time with his wife
before he had to go to the infirmary. They had never gotten to resume
where they had left off after her bath and he was afraid the longer it
took, the shyer his young wife would become. The rumors and knowledge
that Finlon was trying to court his wife didn't help matters either.
It wasn't that he really considered the young whelp to be true
competition but... he was closer to Enamra in age and... Maybe they
would have more in common?

Gritting his teeth, Thayde shook off the nagging doubts, reminding
himself that they were silly. Had Enamra not said she would never
break her vows?

Pulling on his swim shorts and a shirt, Thayde left their bedroom.
"Good morning," he said when he found his wife in the kitchen.

"It's afternoon." She smiled up at him briefly, finishing wiping down
the sink. "You're up early. Shouldn't you be sleeping?"

"I should," he said giving her a charming smile, "but I was hoping
that we could go for a swim."

She brightened immediately, then frowned. "Do you have time for that?"

"I am making time," Thayde said, reaching out for Enamra and pulling
her up against him. "Because I would like to spend some time with my
wife."

Her heart pitter patted against her chest as she stared up at him.
After coming so close to finally consummating their marriage, she
felt skittish and uncertain. "Okay. Would you like me to wear my new
suit?"

"Oh, I had nearly forgotten about the new suit." The dolphineer's eyes
warmed. "You should wear it."

She flushed and slowly pulled herself out of his arms. "I'll go
change. " Slipping into the bedroom, she disrobed and brought out the
two piece. She wasn't certain about it, but hoped Thayde would like
it. Taking a breath, she pulled it on, got a little tangled, but
righted it quickly. It was a modest two piece and it fit her slender
curves well, the green color accenting the tone of her skin, though
the expanse of her belly was noticeably paler than the rest pf her.
She fought the urge to cover herself, took another breath and stepped
out of the bedroom.

Thayde, who had been eating a piece of fruit while he waited, nearly
swallowed it down the wrong way when Enamra stepped into the room.
Wincing as the piece of food went down, his voice was a little croaky
as he said, "Whoa."

Enamra paused at the door and looked down, hands moving to cover her
belly. "What? Does it look bad? I can wear my shirt. "

"No," Thayde said immediately to keep her from turning back to the
bedroom. "You look... Well, I don't want to make you blush but I think
I like this even better than the lingerie."

Her mouth parted and she did blush then, cheeks hot. "Uh... should I
go out like this then? I shouldn't cover up?" She looked down at the
triangles that covered her breasts. They were covered completely,
but revealed far more of her than she had ever done before.

"No, you should go like this, I want to see you." Thayde said. "I like
this," he said, tracing a finger over her bare torso.

Her skin prickled under his touch and she shivered. What was it about
that simple touch that made her get so heated and needy? "Alright."
Beneath her top, two little points stood out, evidence of how his
touch effected her. She cleared her throat and held out a towel to
him. "Swimming."

Thayde chuckled and took the towel. He had been quite ready to forget
all about swimming. "Yes, ma'am," he said, offering her his elbow and
giving his best gentlemanly bow.

She took his elbow but when they arrived outside, she realized just
how undressed she felt. Grip tightening on his arm, it seemed like
everyone was going to look at her and stare. Some people were
looking, mostly young men, so she half- hid behind Thayde as they
walked.

The Master Dolphineer could feel the stares as well but he merely
wrapped his arm around her waist and tucked her against his side
possessively as they walked. He and Enamra had never really shown
public affection before and he felt that was time to change.

"Perfect day for swimming," he said.

She felt the heat of his palm against her side keenly, but the
possessive gesture was very welcome and gave her a sense of security
and safety. She looked around, then back up to him, slowly sliding
her own arm around his waist to let her hand grip his bare side. She
felt the play of muscles under her palm and found that she liked both
the closeness and the feel of him. As they walked towards the water,
her head leaned against him and she smiled, more at ease.

"We can leave our towels here," he said, dropping his just above the tideline.

She dropped her own, released him and with a quick grin, ran into
the water before him. The moment she was waist deep, she took a
breath and plunged, driving it with a kick of slender feet.

Thayde jogged down behind her and dove in, using powerful long kicks
to get past the breakers and follow Enamra. "You're a quick little
thing," he said with a laugh.

Head emerging from the water, Enamra pushed her hair from her face
and she treaded water to wait for him. "You're a better swimmer than
me. I had to get a head start." She let the water move her, her head
bobbing up and down with the motion. There was a light in her eyes
that only emerged when she was in the water, a playful joy that was
always felt in the salty spray. She smiled, tilting her head back to
float.

"You'll have to come out with me at night for a swim with Ada. It's
nice being towed around while the stars are out." Thayde told her.

"I'd love to swim with Ada again. I never get to see her. " She spun
in the water, swimming around Thayde with gentle motions of her hands
and legs. " And I miss swimming under the stars. I used to do it all
the time at home. My sisters would be asleep and my papa would be
out, so I'd run into the ocean, float on my back and look up at them."

"As soon as my night duties finish we'll take a night time swim and
picnic," he vowed.

She turned in the water again to face him, water dripping down her
face, only her head above the water with her chin touching the waves.
"A picnic at night?" She thought about it and smiled. "That sounds
really nice." She swam closer and quickly, daringly, brushed a kiss
over his mouth.

Thayde snaked a hand through the water to grab her waist and pull her
to him. "Don't start something you won't finish," he teased, kissing
her.

She returned the light hearted kiss, and the words that spilled from
her mouth surprised her with their own tease. "Why not? You did." She
flushed, but gave a little smile. She glanced at the shoreline, heard
a few whistles as they were noticed and hid her face against his neck.
"When are you going to finish?" Her lips brushed his shoulder as she
spoke.

"Mhm, right now?" He challenged with a teasing glint in his eyes,
although his hands slid down and guided her thighs around his waist.

Her eyes popped open. "Thayde! People are looking at us, they can see
us!" She looked over her shoulder, certain that the people on the
shore knew exactly what he was doing.

He chuckled warmly in her ear. "I guess that would stop them from
wondering about what goes in our bedroom, huh?"

She sputtered, looking over her shoulder and then back at him, mouth
opening and closing. She didn't realize that her reactions were just
what people would expect if they were doing something rather naughty.
"But..." She tilted her head towards his lips, finding the breath
ticklish. Her thighs tightened around his waist, remembering how it
had felt she she'd been pressed against him before.

"I'm just teasing," Thayde assured her, patting her bottom beneath the
water. "I don't want an audience when the time comes."

She relaxed a little and poked his chest, even as she held on to him.
"Not funny, Thayde." Still, there was a smile on her lips. "I never
know when to take you seriously."

"Oh come on," he said as he towed them a little further in where he
could stand. "You should know I wouldn't want people to see you like
that, you in the bathing suit was hard enough." Thayde grinned, one of
his fingers tracing along the line of her bathing suit bottoms beneath
the water.

She was smaller than he, so still hand to hold on to his shoulders
though he was standing. His fingers tickled along her backside and she
squirmed just a little. "I don't want anyone seeing us do that.
It's...private. When it happens, I mean." She kept her eyes on him.
"Why do you do that? Touch me like that?"

A chip in the dolphineer's confidence seemed to show as he withdrew
his hand with a hint of uncertainty. "You don't want me to?"

"I didn't say I didn't want you to." She blushed a little. "I like it.
It makes me feel good. But...I don't know what to do when you do
that. "

"Ah," Thayde said, hand returning. "You could just enjoy it? Not every
touch has to lead to something. I just like the way you feel." He
tipped his head to the side, his damp hair still dripping water down
his chest and shoulders. "Or you could touch me back, if you wanted."

"You do?" Her fingers trailed on his shoulders. "I wouldn't even know
where to start." She nibbled on her lip; she'd thought about exploring
the expanse of his chest and there was curiosity about the rest of
him. "Where?"

"You can touch me anywhere," he said, just the thought of it adding a
huskiness to his voice. "Just start where you are curious."

She stared at him then keeping her gaze on his eyes, she slide one
hand down under the water to touch his chest. She wrapped her thighs
from him, placing both hands on his chest to steady her as she kicked
her feet to stay afloat. Her fingers spread over his chest as she
finally looked down through the water at her own hands. Enamra
flushed, but followed her curiosity, moving her hands to his sides
then his stomach, fingers exploring the muscle she found there.

Thayde watched her face as she explored, her light touch spreading
chills over his skin. As simple and exploratory as the touch was it
still had the effect of turning him on, which he hoped would not put
an end to her touching.

As she explored, she couldn't help but notice the...enlargement. She
swallowed, then looked up at him, her cheeks bright. "Does it hurt
when it does that?" She looked back down, her fingers still on his
stomach.

His grin showed his dimples. "No, although it can get uncomfortable if
it stays that way for a long time."

Her brow knit and she forgot about the others near the beach. "How
often does it do that?" She hesitated, then her curiosity got the best
of her and her fingers trailed over what she had been looking. She
gasped at her own audacity, then pulled her hand away and looked up at
him.

Thayde's breath hitched and his eyes darkened. "Often," he replied,
"sometimes it has a mind of its own. Other times it just takes a
single thought about you."

Enamra's expression was a mixture of embarrassment, pride, and a
little fear. "It means you want..." Her voice trailed off as she
looked beneath the water, then slowly back up to him. "Is it going
to hurt again?" It was something that she feared and had been worrying
her. That first time had been horrible, painful, and had felt like
a hot piece of metal had been jammed into her.

"You mean sex?" he asked.

She nodded, lifting her eyes to meet his. "Yes. "

He wanted to be able to lie to her and alleviate her fears, but Thayde
knew that would not benefit either of them in the long run. "It might
hurt a little at first. I will do everything I can to make sure that
any discomfort is minimal." That was the best he could do, Thayde
knew.

Her teeth nibbled on her lower lip. "Both not like it was with
Doroon? It won't hurt like that, right? It might feel good? like
when I was um... you know. "

"It will be nothing like what you experienced with Doroon," he
guaranteed. "If I do my job correctly," Thayde winked, "then it should
be better than when you were... you know."

She blushed and touched him again, experimentally, but only briefly
before looking up at him again. "When?"

"Soon." Thayde said with emphasis. "What about when we take our night swim?"

She blinked. "You want our first time to be in the water with Ada?"

The sound of his laugh carried across the water. "No, I was thinking
_after_ the swim, when we're having our moonlit picnic on the beach."
He sobered some. "I know you don't have good memories of me and
moonlight. I'd like to change that."

She looked away. No, she didn't have good memories of him like that.
But could she do _that_ with him and not remember how he was with the
other woman, Jalodwyn? She didn't even like to think about it. Even
now, remembering it, made her want to back away from him. She forced
herself to stay and take a breath. "I..I can try."

He knew that look. Thayde hooked a finger beneath her chin and tilted
her face back so she would look at him. "I promise, you won't be
thinking about anything but us then."

Enamra met his eyes and felt hope that he was right. Slowly she
nodded. "At the picnic then."
