Enamra

Enamra
Thayde

Thayde

It was the first time she'd ever been invited to have lunch with the
other spouses in the family building, so Enamra was both excited and
nervous. She'd kept to herself for the most part and hadn't
socialized, but after some encouragement from both Jylanya and
surprisingly Thayde, she finally accepted the invitation. When she
arrived, she was surprised to see a casual gathering of both men and
women, mostly young and even a few close to her own age. Some wore
knots, but some like herself did not. Hesitating at the entrance of
the parlor, she cleared her throat.

Leyndra looked up with interest at the new arrival. She knew who the
young woman was, of course, everyone knew about Master Thayde's rushed
marriage, but before today, Leyndra had never actually seen his young
bride anywhere except in his company in the Dining Hall, or
occasionally with the Headwoman. Personally, Leyndra had begun to
wonder if perhaps Master Thayde was one of those husband's who was
incredibly possessive of his wife and never wanted her to leave their
quarters.

"Come on in, dear," Leyndra said, motioning with her hand for Enamra
to join them.

Smiling shyly, Enamra stepped in only to feel other curious eyes on
her. She hurried to an open seat that was offered and folded her hands
at her lap, uncertain what to do or say. They weren't drudges, were
obviously from better backgrounds than herself and seemed far more at
ease with themselves and others than she was. She looked at Leyndra
and spoke softly. "Thank you. "

A young man with journeyman weaver knots smiled over at her. She was
pretty little thing, he decided, if a bit shy. "I'm Fingoran. My
brother and I just transferred here. He's an apprentice Dolphineer
here and I just followed along. "

"I am Leyndra, I am married to Journeyman Talous. We moved here to the
Hall about a Turn ago." The slightly older girl motioned for one of
the drudges to bring a glass for Enamra. "We were just enjoying a bit
of wine to go with the cheese and crackers," she said, gesturing for
Enamra to help herself as the drudge poured some red wine in Enamra's
glass.

"It's nice to meet both of you." She looked at the wine and opened her
mouth to protest. She'd never had wine, even a small amount, always
preferring to drink juice or water when offered. But glancing around,
she noticed that everyone in the parlor had a glass. Surely a glass
or two wouldn't hurt anything. "Thank you." She took a hesitant sip,
then blinked. It was sweeter than she had expected and despite a bite
to it, it wasn't that bad. "I guess you know that I'm married to
Master Thayde. "

"Yes," Leyndra's eyes lit with amusement, "most of the Hall knows
that, I believe. Congratulations, by the way."

She blushed, but before she could answer, Fingoran cut in. "Yes, my
brother was most put out at finding that out. I think you charmed
him." He gave a playful wink to Leyndra, who already knew his younger
brother's reputation among the ladies. "Your Thayde put him quite in
his place and about time too. "

"Huh?" Enamra blinked, confused.

"Finlon is my brother." Fingoran grinned.

"Oh. Your brother is really very nice." She frowned, not quite
getting why or how Thayde had done anything to him. She took a sip of
wine again, enjoying how it warmed her throat and belly.

Leyndra giggled a bit at Fingoran, because she remembered how grumpy
Finlon had been the day he'd shown up in the parlor complaining about
mistaking Enamra for Thayde's daughter. "Well," she said, tilting her
head as she regarded Enamra, "is the honeymoon still going for you
two? The first year of marriage really is the best."

"Honeymoon? We didn't take one. He's much too busy for that. " She
did like this wine, she decided, taking another sip, then reaching
for a small piece of cheese. She nibbled at it. "Is it?" If the
first year was the best, then they hadn't gotten off to a good start.
"Maybe, I guess. How long have you been married?"

"I'm not. " Fingoran grinned. "Not tasty for that myself. Seems like
all the pretty girls are taken." He winked at Leyndra and gave a over
dramatic sigh, "I keep hoping that Leyndra will fix me up with
someone, but she hasn't yet. Something about needing to protect
me...or them... or something like that. "

That brought a little giggle from Enamra, who began to relax a bit
more and lost a bit of tension around her shoulders.

Leyndra rolled her eyes at Fingoran, since he very well was married but always carried on like a single man. "I've been married for three
Turns," she told Enamra as she gestured for the drudge to refill the
other girl's glass. "I didn't mean a honeymoon trip, I meant," and
here she leaned closer, her blonde eyebrows arched, "marital
relationships," she waggled her eyebrows suggestively.

Enamra didn't protest her glad being refilled, on the contrary, she
hadn't realized she'd emptied it so quickly. A pleasant warmth seemed
to settle over her ears and as Leyndra wiggled her brows, she let go
of another giggle despite a blush of embarrassment. "Oh...uh.." she
took a sip and shifted in her seat, tucking a non-existent strand of
hair behind her ear out of habit. "That. Uhm..."

Judging by the blush on Enamra's cheeks, Leyndra leaned forward in
anticipation, sensing that this was going to be a juicy tidbit of
information. "Yes? Go on."

"Do tell!" Another young woman with journeyman knots chimed in,
plopping down on the ground beside the couch. "Your husband is yummy.
And all the girls are curious, cause you know, when he comes out of
the water, we can tell that he's got quite a nice package to go with
that rump of his. " She ignored Fingoran's groan, swatting at him
idly. "Hush. "

"You can try out my package." He countered with a grin.

"My man would break you in half." She stuck out her tongue at the
other man, then ignored his playful pout as she turned back to
Enamra.

Enamra's mouth fell open at the byplay between the three of them, her
face flaming at both their suggestions and the description of Thayde's
body. She spluttered, then gripped her wine glass, taking a quick
drink. "I uh... fine?"

"Oh come on, it's got to be better than 'fine'," Leyndra insisted.
"The best part of being married to a dolphineer is those swimmers'
bodies they have. It makes them so much more flexible and gives them
great stamina," she said, to which the other girls in attendance
giggled in agreement.

"Stamina?" She blinked, but couldn't help but giggle along with the
other girls, warning up to them and beginning to feel far more loose
and relaxed. Her head felt a little light too, but it wasn't an
unpleasant feeling. "I like his body, " she admitted. "It's really
nice. And he smells like the ocean. "

Leyndra laughed. "Well, of course you like his body, we have all seen
it too. What's not to like? But what about in the bed, come on. You
can tell us."

"We sleep in the bed." She took another sip of the wine, grinned, and
eyed the glass, swirling the remaining contents and finding herself
fascinated by the easy the lights flickered over the surface. She
giggled. "But that's it. So no honeymoon for me!"

A series of confused looks passed between Leyndra and Fingoran. "Wait,
you mean... You and Master Thayde haven't had sex?"

"Nuh uh." She shook her head, finishing the glass of wine. "But it's
okay. I try to be a good wife anyway. Someone told me to try pretty
lingerie, but it didn't work. " Her brow knit. She didn't want to
think about that, so decided to talk about something else. "This is
good wine. "

"You wore lingerie and he _didn't_ have sex with you?" Leyndra
repeated, blue eyes wide as saucers, now completely flummoxed. "Wow,"
she sat back in her chair a little, "do you think that there's like...
Something, you know," she gestured below the waist, "wrong with him?"

"But I've never seen it. I don't think there's anything wrong." She
didn't see Fingoran's eyes locking on to her nor the gaze of other men
that now held her with interest. The young female Dolphineer began to
giggle and snicker, but Enamra barely noticed. Instead, she began to
giggle herself, just because Leyndra's wide-eyed expression seemed so
funny. "Thayde's got one though, I'm sure of it." Her giggles grew as
she remembered how it had poked out in his linen trousers the evening
he'd kissed her. Remembering how it had looked was kind of funny.

Leyndra shook her head in disbelief. "Well, there must be something
wrong with him. I've never known a married man to _not_ want to with
his wife," her blue eyes skimmed over Enamra's appearance. "And there
is certainly nothing wrong with you dear, is there Fingoran?"

"Not at all." He murmured, eyes now sliding over Enamra with an
interest that was far more heated than simple friendliness. There were
other glances too from men, though those who had spouses were less
obvious. He glanced at Leyndra, then leaned forward and spoke softly.
"You're a very attractive young woman and your man should be taking
care of your needs. "

Enamra smiled, and her apparent innocence was even more alluring to
the men that watched. "Thayde takes good care of me. He's a good
husband." She giggled, her entire body feeling warm and light and
marvelous. She picked up the glass. "Can I have more please?"
