A Good Experience

Writers: Eimi, Paula
Date Posted: 6th June 2019

Characters: Ciendra, M'ked
Description: After working off the dragonlust, M'ked and Ciendra are in no hurry to leave...
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 10, day 4 of Turn 9
Notes: Follows DCW: Still Not Used to It

M'ked adjusted his arm as it was starting to go numb. It was long
enough that he could still trace his fingers along the small of the
greenrider's back. "I actually never knew who my father was. My
mother told me it could have been one of at least two men. Maybe
three. I might have been the result of a fling, or I might have been
a Flight baby. Who knows. Two of the men transferred out of the Weyr
when Windswept Islands Weyr opened up. I was..." He did some quick
mental calculations. "Maybe seven at the time? Too young to care,
really. And the other was just passing through. She didn't remember
anything about him, really."

"Hmm, well, I'm Holdbred. Only child and not because of lack of
trying. Then there was a horrible fire and my parents died. I was sent
to live with my aunt Dramile in Green Valley. Then I got Searched and
Impressed Turn later," CIendra recounted her life tale, leaving out
the details like how badly her aunt had treated her.

"How old were you when your parents died?" he asked, then though
perhaps it was too personal a question to be asking when they had just
met. "Sorry. You don't have to answer that if you don't want to talk
about it."

"It was four Turns ago, I had just turned thirteen," Ciendra replied.
She still got sad when she thought about it.

"Shells, I'm sorry," he said, realizing he had brought the whole mood
down with a single question. "I shouldn't have asked that. You
probably don't want to be talking about this with a stranger."

"It's a bit of a mood killer," she said, "But it's not a secret or anything."

"Well, yeah, it might not be a secret," he conceded, "but still I
don't want your friends to ask you how the Flight went and have you
answer, 'It was going great until the idiot brownrider tried to engage
in a bit of pillow talk and failed miserably'." M'ked couldn't hide
the embarrassment on his face as his covered his forehead with his
hand.

Ciendra giggled, it was just so funny. "I would never say anything like that."

"Oh, I know girls talk," he said, giving her a sideways glance, but he
couldn't hide his smile. "So," M'ked pulled his arm out from under
her so he could prop his head up on his elbow and look down on the
greenrider. "I think you deserve a bit of revenge. What is the most
personal or embarrassing question you would like to ask me?"

"But I don't know any embarrassing questions," Ciendra said. She was
starting to feel comfortable around him and didn't feel so shy any
longer.

"Just a question then," he shrugged.

"What was your first sex experience and how old were you?" Ciendra
asked out of sheer curiosity.

Well, she certainly seemed to have gotten over her initial shyness. "If you mean just kissing, I was 13 and it was on a dare. At 14 I had worked up the nerve to put my hand up a girl's shirt, but I really didn't know what I was doing.
The first time I truly had sex, I was 15, and I _still_ didn't know
what I was doing, and neither did she. It was rather embarrassing to
look back on," he admitted modestly. "But when I was a senior
weyrling, I started to have sex regularly and my performance steadily
improved, I think."

Ciendra was blushing again when she listened M'ked. "My first time was
while I was candidate. I asked a dragonrider I know from back home to
help me. We we searched at the sametime but he Impressed before I did.
Prior to that, I haven't even kissed anybody."

"That's ok. I hear Holds aren't so open about that kind of thing.
Maybe if I had been raised in a Hold, I would have been the same," he
shrugged, wanting to make her feel at ease, though he didn't really
think he could have been able to show that much self restraint! "So
is your friend _just_ a friend then?"

Ciendra couldn't help but sigh longingly. "He's weyrmated and has baby
with her."

"Ah..." M'ked said, catching the note in her voice. "So you _want_
him to be more, but he's not available to you in that way. Still, you
can enjoy each other's company, can't you?"

"He doesn't see me that way," Ciendra sighed again.

"Yeah, that can hurt when someone you love doesn't love you back," he
said, eyes darkening with memories of his own past.

Instinctively, Ciendra reached out to touch and comfort him.

He gave her a small smile as he covered her hand with his. It really
wasn't fair to bring his past into a Flight bed. He pushed his dark
thoughts out of his mind just as his stomach let out a loud, hungry
growl. "Uh oh. Sorry about that. I guess it must be getting late."

"It is. Maybe we should leave. Maybe someone else needs to use the cot
too." Ciendra suggested.

"I suppose," he said grudgingly, pulling back the covers and throwing
his legs over the side of the bed. "And now it's the age old question
of 'Where are all my clothes'?" M'ked pulled a woman's top from the
floor at his feet. "I don't think this would suit me."

"It might be tad too small," Ciendra giggled and snatched it. She
pulled it on without worrying about her bra. She moved around some
furs and found trousers. "Yours?"

"They certainly look like the ones I was wearing," he grinned, though
he couldn't help undressing her once more with his eyes before he
stood to search for his undergarments. "Socks?" he said, offering
them to her.

"Thanks. Seen my trousers? I was wearing one of those that end mid calf."

"Doesn't it just make you wonder how we manage to get clothes in all
these weird places?" M'ked asked as he pulled her trousers out from
under the pillow he had just been resting against.

They finished pulling on their clothes, laughing at all the funny
places they ended up and even putting out theories of how they had
gotten there. As they walked towards the door the brownrider said,
"I'm really glad we won today. I think this was a Flight I'll never
forget."

"This was a good experience," Ciendra agreed. "We could, you know, see
each other again... outside a Flight," she suggested shyly, her cheeks
blooming again

He grinned and nodded. That was what he had been thinking, too. In
fact, he truly didn't want to wait for some random encounter. Though
his hand had reached for the handle of the door, there it stopped and
he looked at her, the question on the tip of his tongue. Reaching for
her hand, M'ked pulled her closer and then gently pressed
her up against the door, deciding in this case his lips might convey
his thoughts even better than his words could.

Ciendra replied to his kiss without hesitation. Had she been wearing
her socks, they would have been rotating.

They were both breathing heavily when their lips finally parted.
"So... What do you think... about maybe getting some food... taking
it back to one of our weyrs... and seeing what it would be like to
take each other's clothes off... when we know what we're doing?"

"I'm all for it," Ciendra agreed.
