Their wingleader meeting was just about finished and Cyradis put a
hand on N'vanik's arm as he moved to leave.

"May I have a moment," she smiled and nodded as the other 'leaders and
'second's left the room.

"Sure." When the last person closed the door behind him, N'vanik
asked. "What is it?"

She handed him the invitation and waited for him to read it.

~~~Begin Letter~~~
Dear Cyradis and N'vanik,
We believe it is time for us to request a Weyr Conclave. We have been
looking at recent events in our own territory and would like to make
some adjustments to our operations that would affect other locations
as well. Would the sixth day of month eight work for you? Our charts
show that none of us have a Threadfall that day. And would a Weyr with a
larger meeting chamber be willing to host?
Sincerely,
Leriyah and M'stan of Far Island Weyr
~~~End Letter~~~

"Hmm." N'vanik considered the letter for a moment. "A Conclave, huh?"
If he remembered right, the last one had been several turns ago.

"I'm sure it's due," she replied. "We should probably talk about what
we'd like to bring up on these subjects. But the other thing was I
thought we could offer to have it here. We certainly have the room and
the Weyr's technicians almost have their project complete."

His eyebrows went up. "Dolphin Cove hosting? Hmm..." It wasn't
elegantly built like Dragonsfall, but they would be able to showcase
the new renovations. "Bring all those stuffy Weyrleaders to our nice
beach?" he asked in a light tone.

She laughed up at him. "I'm sure they won't ruin it for long. It's
just for the two days they're here. I'm sure we've enough room they
won't be falling all over one another."

"And I suppose I can brag a little about how well we're doing." When
N'vanik became Weyrleader, Dolphin Cove was struggling with a shortage
of riders. Now they were one of the stronger Weyrs in the South.

"You certainly can brag," she put a hand on his arm. "Our success here
is largely due to your leadership and I'm sure that is obvious to
everyone."

Although it had happened more and more often over the last few turns,
he still wasn't used to people praising him. "And you've been a huge
help. It's good to know I have someone I can count on."

"Well thank you," she smiled. She felt much the same about him. She
didn't think there was a better partner for her when it came to
running the Weyr. They'd worked through some rough issues together
but she thought they could both trust one another to make decisions
that were best for the Weyr. "Well I can start putting together a list
of issues we might like to bring up.

"Yeah, that sounds good. If they agree to have it here, you get to be
the one to break it to Chaysea about all the extra work." He smiled.

"Sounds good," she nodded with an answering smile. She had no doubt
their headwoman would have everything planned out and well in hand
before either of them needed to check with her. Her last few hatching
feasts had been a spectacular success. "I'll have a word with her to
give her a heads up and a reply for your signature in a few hours.
Hows that?"

"Perfect." He hoped the others agreed to let Dolphin Cove host. It
would definitely make things interesting around here.
