"But I don't see why everyone is so angry with her," Pierka's face
reflected her stormy defense of her sister. "She found them. After all
these years she found them. How could she have known there would be a
storm when she was trying to come back."

"I know it's difficult Pierka," Cyradis held up at hand. "But there is
more to it than just that. She endangered Anaeryth and that is
something no queen rider can ever do." Cyradis remembered the day
they'd figured out what had happened.

~~~Begin Flashback~~~
"She's disappeared," Cyradis said as she rushed into N'vanik's office.
She didn't even pay attention to whoever else was in the room.
"Lanniya is gone and Panitath can't find Anaeryth. She can't hear her
at all."
N'vanik stiffened. "Dead?"
"No," she replied instantly. "Not gone completely but just very very
faint and her direction is... missing." She sighed trying to explain
the feelings she got from her lifemate. "Sorry I don't know how to
explain it better than that."
"Unconscious maybe. Or deliberately blocking." N'vanik frowned. "We
should check with Pierka. Maybe she knows something." The goldrider
was her sister. Maybe this was nothing more than a girl wanting to be
alone for a while. Hopefully.
Cyradis couldn't remember a time where she and Panitath had tried to
block others from finding them so she was at a loss. "But both of
them? It only speaks to disaster." She nodded at his thought about
Pierka. "We should speak to her and see if she knows anything at all."
With that she reached out to request the greenrider's presence in the
Weyrleader's office.
Pierka arrived only moments later as she'd been close to where they
were when she received the message from Liddith. She stood in the
doorway with a puzzled expression. "You wished to see me?"
"Has Lanniya said anything to you? Have you noticed her being upset?"
N'vanik asked.
"Sir?" Pierka was confused by the question. "Has something happened?
Is she alright?"
"She's gone missing. Panitath can't hear Anaeryth. Do you have any
idea where she might have gone?"
"No," she shook her head. "I don't know where she could have gone."
Pierka began to feel a panic rising up to grip her. She'd only just
found her sister and now this? She took a deep breath and let it out
slowly.
Cyradis saw the reaction. "She's not completely gone," she tried to
reassure the young greenrider. "But she's very faint and doesn't
answer."
Pierka nodded a tiny bit eased and still searching her brain for some
kind of answer. "She's been talking about our parents a lot lately."
"Lost in a storm. And they just had that big hurricane," N'vanik said.
That had to have brought up bad memories.
"Yes," Pierka answered.
Cyradis moved to put her arm around the girl. "I'm sure they'll find
her and everything will be fine."
}:Mine says maybe Anaeryth's went to _when_ her parents died,:{ Loseth
passed to Panitath. It wasn't something N'vanik wanted to say in front
of the greenrider.
Cyradis eyes widened as she looked at her Weyrleader in response to
what Panitath had relayed. She nodded slightly and her eyes shifted
sideways. "Well," she said with a hint of resolution. "We just wanted
to see if you knew anything about where she might have gone." She gave
the thin shoulders a squeeze and let go.
"Thank you," Pierka smiled. "I'll let you know if I hear anything."
"We'll do the same," N'vanik assured. If that fool girl had risked
herself and a queen...
Pierka smiled one more time recognizing a dismissal when it happened
and left the room.
Cyradis shook her head while her eyes followed the girl out of the
room. "Impetuous young gold riders," she sighed rather thankful
Lanniya wasn't in her charge right now. It made her all the more
thankful for a Junior Goldrider like Meledei who was sensible even
though her world view might seem a little skewed towards holder values
at times. "I know it's not our job to go find the girl but do you
think there is anything we can do at this point to help K'ran and
Rhosyn at Riverbluff?"
N'vanik sighed. "I'm not sure what we can do besides offer our support
and keep an eye out."
"I suppose," she sighed. "Poor Pierka."
~~~End Flashback~~~

"I know," Pierka said more strongly than she might have meant to but
she'd had this same conversation with Z'ku and couldn't understand why
everyone was being so mean to her one and only sister. "But she's
back safe and with my parents. I want to go see them."

"Alright," Cyradis said softly. "I'll see what I can arrange with
Rhosyn for you to go to River Bluff and see them."
