Everything had changed for him. He had known it might, but knowing
there was a possibility and then having a dragonet's thoughts inside
one's head was very different. While his lifemate rested, he knew it was
necessary to arrive at the Hatching feast. He was also curious if maybe
his old Master might be there. He thought his Aunt might be too, but she
didn't know she was his Aunt, did she?

Shaking his head, he headed up there along with the other weyrlings.
He couldn't stay long, but he could eat anyway and say hello to people
he was supposed to. Entering the crowd, he looked around and saw so
many people. Not knowing where to go or who to find, he just stood there.

E'naer shooed the stranglers in, so that they wouldn't miss their
Feast. The Weyrleaders were waiting to greet the new riders.

Even though the current dragonets belonged to Teseada's Onnyth, Saibra
still had the task of congratulating the newest set of dragonriders to
grace Dragonsfall Weyr. After all, some day these young men and women
would be in the fighting Wings, shells, the future Weyrleader of
Dragonsfall might even be amongst them. That's what Saibra enjoyed
most about watching the Weyrlings grow up- seeing where their life
experiences took them and how it shaped their personalities.

"Congratulations R'gelen," and here Chioneth helpfully inserted
}:Bronze Iroth.:{ "on your bronze Iroth." Saibra said as she came upon
the Weyr's youngest bronzerider.

G'nir wasn't far behind her. "Congratulations, lad," the Weyrleader
smiled. So, this was Rhosyn's nephew. Following his career would be
interesting.

He blinked first, seeing them both. He had seen them in poker decks but
this was different. They were real live people in front of him. Realizing
they
were talking to him, he immediately fell back on manners. "Oh umm...thank
you Weyrwoman. My duty to you and Chioneth." **That was right, right?**
He really felt like a bumbler most days. Maybe he should have paid
more attention in those candidate etiquette lessons.

And then the Weyrleader spoke up. He hadn't call him by name, but _she_ had.
Another thing occurred to him. He had a new name. That was his new name.
**Is
it a good one?** He turned around in his brain and decided it was just
another
change he was going to have to accept. "Thank you Weyrleader sir."

G'nir chuckled at his bewilderment. "Feeling dizzy, R'gelen? It's a
big change," he asked.

"It's strange having someone else in my head when I didn't before and
getting
used to his thoughts and how different they are. Plus all these people are
saying
hello to me when before they didn't even know I existed." That was the
honest truth.
He realized, though, that the Weyrleaders could be lumped into that category
and
hoped they realized he didn't mean them. "And I have a new name...and a new
home...and it's a lot of new things."

"It is. You have lot of adjustment to do. But in the end, you'll get
used to it and won't want it any other way. You were born to be a
bronzerider. Just trust yourself. And your dragon," G'nir advised, not
without sympathy.

Saibra smiled sympathetically. She was weyrbred herself and didn't
have quite the same story as R'gelen, but if the dragon had chosen him
then it meant the youth was more than capable of being a bronzerider.
It also meant that R'gelen would be joining the Weyrling Wing upon
graduation since he was so young. "Do you have family here watching?"
she asked, casting about with her cerulean eyes.

"Ummm....I don't know." He hadn't seen anyone yet. Then again it was
quite plausible that his Aunt was there. But he couldn't tell them about
her. He didn't know if he would ever get used to all of this but he supposed
he could try anyway.

The Weyrwoman had been hoping that the boy might share exactly _who_
his family consisted of.... A mother and father? Or was he one of
those hold children whose parents detested the very thought of their
son becoming a dragonrider?

"Good luck, bronzerider," G'nir said and actually winked at the boy.

"My father's just a farmer. So I don't know if they could have gotten here.
And there are my siblings to think of.." By the way the Weyrleader spoke,
he supposed they had other people to speak to. Either way, he was hungry.
"Thanks to you both. I'll let you see to the other guests now."
