Description: Luneth rises and the new situation is forced upon Ninaine.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 12, day 18 of Turn 7
It had to be from the pregnancy, Ninaine guessed as the drudge hurried
away from her in the dining cavern. She had snapped at the girl
multiple times after each bite of food just didn't taste quite right.
She hadn't meant to, but for some reason, even the sound of the girls
voice set her on edge. She stared down at her plate and grimaced at
it. If she didn't eat, nothing would come up later, but she had
already lost a few inches and the Healers were cautioning her to at
least try. Her nose wrinkled as she picked at the food with her eating
knife. She didn't want it! She shoved the plate away and shifted,
unable to keep from drumming her fingers on the table. Her skin felt
like it was crawling, she couldn't sit still and...
A shrill bugle interrupted her thoughts and a flush of pure need
bolted through her. With slowly dawning horror, it all clicked
together. Her moods weren't _just_ from the pregnancy. "Oh no...no no
no..." She rose and felt eyes on her around the dining cavern, some
with a sudden flare of interest that she immediately wanted to escape.
She glanced around and bolted from the dining hall, then watched as
Luneth dove and caught a shrieking wherry on sharp talons. Not yet,
Faranth, not yet! She wasn't ready! She didn't want... Another wave of
unwanted desire caught her and she stumbled forward with a groan of
denial. "Please...not yet, Luneth." The green ignored her lifemate's
pleas and gave another shrill cry, announcing her intentions.
She didn't want to go to the flight rooms...she couldn't. Not with a
stranger. Faranth, please not with a stranger. She tried stumbling in
the opposite direction, towards the safety of the inner caverns, but
was stopped. She dimly realized that an assistant to the
weyrlingmasters was with her, leading her towards the flight rooms.
She tried shaking her off and moving away, but her mind was more with
Luneth than she had thought it would be and she was distracted. Before
she could object and try to get away, she was there. She paled, trying
to pull her mind from Luneth's to try to get her bearings, but the
meshing was too complex. She wavered and leaned against the wall,
closing her eyes tight.
}:Luneth rises and I will win,:{ Rademerth said as the beginnings of
flightlust hit his rider.
**The one that bit you?** J'kri asked with a mix of disbelief and amusement.
}:I do not remember that. She is beautiful.:{ Dragons and their simple
minds.
}: I'm giving her a chase,:{ Galerith declared and flew to join the
gathering males. Sh'lua's long legs carried him to mating cots soon
enough. The bluerider's eyebrows shot up when he saw who the green's
rider was.
When she bolted out of dining cavern, M'shan wasn't far behind, with
Juth loudly bugling his admiration for the young green. **Shells and
shards, she's a load of trouble, not to mention pregnant,** M'shan's
protests were unheard by his lifemate. Juth was young brown and all
that he cared was that she was Rising.
G'nir was taking his meal in his office, working as he ate. He was
interrupted when Nirreth answered a green's shrill call for suitors.
}: Luneth Rises! :{
**Luneth! Ninaine's green? She's a weyrling...** G'nir recognized the
name right away. It had appreared in the reports on his desk way too
many times. **And you want her?** he mental voice was sarcastic.
}: She's lovely :{ Nirreth declared.
**Oh, this is going to be something. I have to see how this plays
out.** It would be interesting Mating Flight for sure. Abandoning his
food, G'nir consented to his bronze's lust.
D'kere couldn't believe he was on his way to the flight rooms.
Normally he wouldn't mind, flights were nice after all, but
considering it was Ninaine of all people.... He knew her fears about
mating flights and that she would rather hide herself in her weyr that
go to the flight rooms, he'd learned all of that the day he and Devyn
had talked to the Weyrlings about flights. There would be no nice,
warm awakening after winning this flight and he pitied the person that
had those honors.
}:It will be us! I will win!:{ Kenirath assured his rider as he flexed
his long, bronze wings in a flashy manner.
**Oh joy.** D'kere thought dryly as he entered the room to see that
Ninaine had been shepherded in by one of the other Weyrling staff
members. His eyes scanned the room and then he glanced beside of the
man on his left.
"R'axe."
"D'kere." The bluerider nodded back at him, but there was a pensive
look on the man's normally carefree face. R'axe enjoyed a mating
flight better than almost anyone he knew (besides J'kri) but he had
heard rumors about this greenrider, and while he _did_ pride himself
on giving people a good time beneath the furs.... He didn't know if a
good time would be possible with this one.
}:Prepare yourself! We shall show them how good blues really are!:{
Jayth pep-talked R'axe as he waited for the green beauty to raise. The
feistier the green, the more Jayth wanted to win.
Haloth roared down from the heights and landed near the pens. }:I will
have her:{
**You'd better,** N'call agreed as he trotted into the midst of the
other riders. He knew how difficult this was going to be for her and
hoped against hope, all of them pinned to bronze wings.
As Luneth burst into the air to leave the pack of males behind,
Ninaine wavered on her feet. Her reticence was wavering as well,
caught up in the overwhelmingly pure lust that was throbbing from
Luneth. She had only felt it around... Her eyes went to N'call,
immediately beseeching him to take her away from the crowd, to help
her with the feelings that Luneth was overwhelming her with. But
shortly after finding his face, it seemed that Haloth's image
overlapped his own and a feeling of satisfaction that she had lured
him began to take over. Ninaine shook her head at the conflicting
visuals and confused, peered at the other men. She didn't see their
faces as much as their dragons, and then the feeling of glee that she
had so many desiring her. She struggled against it, conflicting needs
and doubts making her head hurt. She took a step back from the
circling men, shook her head, then took a step forward as Luneth's
urges supplanted her own. With a sound
between a gasp and a sob, Ninaine shuddered, giving over to Luneth's needs.
Luneth bugled at the dragon's following her, her bright hide glowing
vibrantly. }: Prove that you want me! :{ She strove upwards, darting
towards the clouds.
}: I'll prove it to you! :{ Juth replied and surged ahead, his strong
wings beating.
}: I'm the strongest bronze in the Weyr, my lovely Luneth! :{ Nirreth
boasted as he launched after her.
}: Forget those stodgy browns and bronzes. Only a blue like me can
show you a good time, :{ Galerith added his own coaxing as the big
blue joined the chase.
K'ran edged into the flight room, one of the last to arrive. He stood
on the periphery, feeling uncomfortable at the press of bodies
surrounding the young greenrider. But his mind was being caught up in
that of his dragon's, and Ninaine was a representation of her green,
and he felt himself beginning to desire her.
Rogueth leapt aloft to follow Luneth. A young green was quite the
tempting prize. And the young ones weren't as wily as the experienced
greens. The bronze was tired of forever being beat out by other
dragons. }:I want you, Luneth!:{ the small bronze exclaimed.
J'kri saw the young greenrider struggle and felt a bit of
apprehension. This might not be fun to win. But Rademerth was all in
and his mind took over his rider's.
Twisting to get past an older blue, Rademerth called out, }:You shine.
You are strong. I will fly you well!:{
Jayth sprang aloft with a flashy show of his brilliant blue hide as he
chased over the young, wily green. No green _wanted_ to be caught at
first, but the experienced blue flyer was sure that he could make this
lovely gem change her mind.
Not far behind R'axe's blue dragon was Kenirath, his coppery bronze
hide rippling as his muscles bunched and moved beneath his well-oiled
hide. Kenirath knew Luneth well, having been her teacher during
Weyrlinghood, but now he saw her in an entirely different light. Now
she was a beautiful vixen.
Haloth's trumpeted answer to her challenge belled ahead of him as his
large wing lifted him aloft. He was behind the blues of course but he
was determined.
Rogueth slipped through the growing pack, darting past Haloth with a
surprising burst of speed, swerving under the pack to dodge a brown.
Then he caught an updraft and rode it to gain a bit more height so he
could see the green's path better. }:You glow beautifully, Luneth,:{
he complimented her.
Luneth crooned at the praise and glanced back over her shoulder at the
pack of males chasing her. They were _hers_! All hers! And they all
wanted her. She considered them, even as she was darting away from
them. There was her Haloth, looking in his prime and so strong. He was
warm and familiar to her. But so was Kenirath; she knew him as well.
Perhaps she should get to _know_him better. She flicked through the
clouds, diving away as one blue came too close. Galerith had almost
caught her unawares! She couldn't let this end yet! She swung away,
eyeing Rademerth. He was young and strong. Too young? Or maybe just
young enough? Juth was young too, but not as young. Now Nirreth was a
strong one. And a leader. And he wanted her. Jayth was certainly
experience, she knew. And Rogueth, she could tell that he wanted her
and he gave pretty compliments. Who was good enough for her? }: Can't
catch me yet! Try harder!:{
Jayth was certainly willing to try harder, }:You would have so much
fun with me, Luneth. Let me show you the skies.:{ He crooned as he
twisted and dove through the lumbering pack of males after the wily
female.
Not far behind the blue, Kenirath winged his way around a bulky brown
who was falling from the flight, tired out from a strain he'd acquired
in his wing. }:Come to me, Luneth.:{ He cajoled in a silky bugle.
}: So close! :{ Galerith watched her slip away and just doupled his
efforts. He nearly had surprised her.
Nirreth kept his pace steady and didn't let her tricks and turns fool
him. He was strong and could outlast her. She would tire soon.
}:Luneth you are fine and strong. Choose me, I am the best!:{
Rademerth bugled as the green glanced behind her.
She was tiring and her lust grew intense. She glanced behind her again
and warbled, taunting, yet encouraging the males to get closer, strive
harder. She eyed Haloth, her beloved Haloth, but swung too closely to
another, smaller bronze. She squawked in surprise, then gave a
blissful croon as she found herself in Rogueth's clutches.
Rogueth wasted no time in closing around the green and starting the
fall. }:You will not regret your choice!:{
On the ground, K'ran mirrored his dragon, reaching out to pull Ninaine
against him. His discomfit had fled under dragonlust, his concern
about all other matters gone. There was only being his dragon now,
their bodies mirroring the dance above.
N'call blindly turned into the arms of a nearby moth while his bronze
wheeled in the sky with a cry of frustration.
