Expectations of Members

Our website is quite extensive, including FAQs and guidelines, as well as information to aid in story-writing. Members are expected to familiarize themselves with the information contained on the site, and to follow the guidelines provided.

Full Post Rule

Posts are only sent to the mailing list in their 'final draft' format. They are written privately by members exchanging paragraphs at a time back and forth via private email, until all writers agree the post is finished. The finished post is sent to the mailing list for all to enjoy. If you prefer a more interactive style of writing such as round-robin posting, you might want to reconsider before joining Triad.

PBeM Only Rule

That means Play By E-Mail, and that is exactly what we do. If you want someone to write a story with you, contact that person and email back and forth to each other to complete it. We do not allow co-posting via AIM, MSN Messenger, YahooChat, ICQ, or chatrooms.

Feel free to plot or plan storylines via chat, but no writing of co-posts should be taking place.

Penalties for Violating Canon

Should a member violate canon in a post, the following may occur:

  • 1st Offence: Retraction and/or correction of the post in question
  • 2nd Offence: Written warning
  • 3rd Offence: Council supervised disciplinary mentorship
  • 4th Offence and Beyond: Mentorship and loss of rank.

Should the Council deem it necessary, stricter penalties may be enforced when a serious violation has occurred.

Rules of Conduct

Article by Eimi

  1. Flaming, insults, or harassment of other members will not be tolerated. Violation of this rule will result in disciplinary action, which could include an extension of or return to mentorship, loss of rank, or expulsion. Members are asked to be especially respectful of mentors and administrative staff. These members volunteer their time to keep the club running smoothly and deserve at least that in payment. This rule applies to any type of communication, including text and IM conversations.
  2. Personas and their dragons, dolphins, or pets are the property of the approved writer. No member should write for another's persona without permission. This includes anticipating another persona's reaction, even in a copost. A nod, or simple yes or no answer, may be permitted, but don't object if the writer requests the opposite response in their next reply.
  3. Respect other members' email accounts. Do not send chain letters, attachments, or other spam to the main list or to any other member without first gaining permission.

Triad Weyrs and its shared timeline clubs have been established primarily to provide a creative and fun outlet for its members. With cooperation and respect for each other, we can achieve that goal.
