Introduction
This is an overview of how to timeline posts onto the Triad Weyrs website.
Timelining Responsibilities
what timeliners do
Timeliner Guide
To post a story, log into the website, go to the Calendar section of the site, and choose "Add new story". You will only see this feature if your user account is an Administrator. Now follow these steps to timeline the post.
1.) Enter the post's title as it was sent to the list. For multipart posts remember to include the numbers! (Ex: 1/2, 2/2, etc)
2.) Enter the posting date.
3.) Choose the writers. As the site says, hold down CTRL key on Windows or Linux to select multiple options, or hold CMD/the Apple key on a Mac. "Include Former Members" is only useful when timelining posts with people who have recently left and changed their status to Inactive.
4.) Paste the description from the post's header.
5.) Enter the characters from the post's header. Include all named NPCs, but do not include the (NPC) after their names. (This is why we prefer to have NPCs named in the Who line, because you can copy/paste and then remove the (NPC) tag; or named in a separate NPCs line, as long as the timeliner remembers to copy it.)
6.) Enter the club date. Turnover is the only time you'll use days 29 and 31.
7.) Choose locations. If more than one, use CTRL or CMD to select all.
8.) Change the rating, if applicable.
9.) Include any relevant notes. Notes such as the "Mentioned" list of personas are relevant, as are the names of posts preceding it or notification it is part X in a series. "Mentor Approved" or "Late because of LIA/LOA" are not relevant notes.
10.) Paste the story text as in the body of the email. Then click Submit.
11.) Review the personas. New NPC entry form will appear here; it asks for an age (can be left blank) and a quick job description (should be filled in as it was in the writer's signature). Sometimes if someone has an angled apostrophe instead of a straight one in the header, it will try to call a dragonrider a new NPC. If all is well here, click Submit and it's done!
