Growth form:
It is a creeping vine that bears cucumiform fruits that are used as vegetables.
Uses:
- Edible as a vegetable and often eaten raw, cooked, or pickled.
- Pressed seed oil is edible
Medicinal Uses:
- use for burns
- Fresh slices give a cooling eye compress
- Pulped flesh is added to facial masks and soothes sunburn.
- A leaf infusion acts as a Febrifuge and can also treat intestinal flu.
