Member Rewards are points earned by a writer for doing different activities around the club. Then writers can spend their points on rewards! Member reward totals are kept on individual member pages on the Triad Weyrs website.

A persona can be aged up or down using member rewards marks. You might want to use this reward to age an Apprentice Crafter character up so they can become Journeyman, or remove an extra Turn from a character so they're still eligible to Impress. The following rules are in effect:

Aging up happens off camera and is typically accounted for by "a period of time away" where the character should be absent from IC locations (a minimum of 3 RL months). This is required for PCs having a significant age jump (more than 2 Turns). Adjusting a young character up or down by a single Turn can be handled fuzzily.

When a character comes back into play, they may reference being gone for "some time" but it should not be explicitly mentioned how long of time they were gone for. This is to prevent in-character plot confusion. For example, a character should not say that they were gone 5 Turns when they're coming back to the same PC location after 6 game months.

Spending Marks

You can buy a lot of really neat stuff! Check out our How can I spend Marks page for the details!

Pooling Marks/Joint Purchases

Can we pool our member rewards towards a common goal?

Yes, you can! If a group of members decide they want to open a Hold or Hall, they can contribute marks towards it together, and decide among themselves who will take which positions.

Notes

  1. Bonus Locations are announced by the Council
  2. L1 of a location is not eligible for the story award
    • The plot is a significant event at the location that involves multiple writers, characters, and generates multiple posts.
    • As it's affecting the whole location, it must be pre-approved by the L1 or the council
    • If it affects more than one location, the marks are awarded once, but at the higher amount (so 20 marks for a story that occurs at the Weyr and Hold)
    • If it's an ongoing storyline, then each "significant event" will be treated separately.
The reward goes to the member or members who came up with the idea and organised the storyline.
  • A significant event refers to a notable occurrence or happening that has a lasting impact and often leads to consequential changes in society, politics, or other areas.
