Saibra

The green popping out of /between/ with a passanger was greeted by the
Weyrleader's bronze himself and directed to land directly on Nirreth's
ledge. Nirreth made room and the green landed deftly. The green's
rider helped her passanger down.

"Thank's for the smooth rider, greenrider," the passanger thanked
politely and smiled brightly.

"You're welcome, sir," the weyrling answered.

G'nir stepped out. "You're from the hall?" he asked.

"Yes, sir, journeyman Chalayd at your service. I'm the Southern Pern's
only equivalent for expert of geothermal power plants," Chalayd
replied with a bow. "It's my mastery project." Most people were
disappointed to find out he wasn't master...yet.

Saibra stood just behind G'nir, having followed him out from his weyr.
The Weyrleaders had been expecting the arrival of the technician, and
Saibra thought it wasn't a moment too soon. For someone who was
already _not_ a fan of cold weather, living in the frigid cold with
only the heat of the fireplace, was cruel and unusual punishment.

"Welcome, Journeyman Chalayd. I hope you can fix our power plant,"
G'nir said and gestured the man in.

The Weyrwoman smiled and inclined her head toward the man, "We all
hope you can fix it." She added as she led the technician inside.

"That's why I'm here," Chalayd said and followed them in.

"I do hope you can help us. Our own technicians haven't been able to
solve the problem," G'nir said.

"Well, sometimes it takes a fresh pair of eyes," Chalayd replied.

Saibra led the technician to a fresh, hot cup of klah, "Here, take
some of the chill off before you have to venture into those frozen
eletrical closets."

"Thank you, ma'am," Chalayd accepted the cup. He gave Saibra an
admiring look, despite being a married man.

The Weyrwoman returned the man's look with a charming smile, after
all, it was always best to be on good terms with people that were
benficial to the Weyr. "You said you are stationed at the Hall?"

"Yes, recently. I've also been in Garnet Valley hold for few Turns and
done jobs all over the Pern, wherever there's geothermal power plants
that need repairs or maintanence," Chalayd replied.

"We are lucky to have someone so experienced then." Saibra's lips
curved into a smile, "I will have the Headwoman prepare you quarters
on the ground level for your convenience during your stay."

"Thank you for your generosity," Chalayd replied.

"After that Teseada can take you to the power plant," G'nir continued.

"She is my Second and a technician herself, she will be much more
helpful than either of us." Saibra assured Chalayd.

"Sound good to me," Chalayd said. "If she's technician, we will be
talking the same language."
