Kapera

Kapera

Kapera scanned the room for anyone else she was supposed to meet. She
spotted the Emerald Falls Lord Holder, and realized she needed to formally
introduce herself. She hadn't had much occasion to interact with Corowal
while at Dragonsfall, so hopefully there would be few preconceptions.

She snagged a glass of wine and drifted with the flow until she arrived
near him. "Greetings, Lord Corowal. I hope you're enjoying the Hatching so
far?"

"Greetings, Kapera, was it? I'm always enjoying Hatchings. This one has
been more dramatic than usual," Corowal replied and gave her smooth bow. He
had been waiting for Felyna, she had gone to ladies room.

"Quite dramatic indeed. But it's auspicious for the babe to be born along
with the dragons."

"Quite so. The mother and baby are doing fine, aren't they?" Corowal agreed
and asked.

"Indeed they are." She hadn't heard anything through the dragons. "How's
your family?"

"They're all fine," Corowal answered.

"Excellent. Tell me, would it be alright if I visited your lovely Hold?
I've never seen it."

"You're more than welcome to visit. Emerald Falls is beautiful place,"
Corowal replied with proud grin. "The Falls itself are worth seeing."

"They do sound amazing, and I'd love to better get to know the area."

"I would be happy to show you around," Corowal said.

"Perhaps the restday after this one, the 21st?" she asked.

"I shouldn't have anything on that day, but you never know what crisis
crops up," Corowal answered with bit of irony.

"I shall drop by then, and if you're busy we can find another time."
Though she was sure she'd enjoy seeing the Hold from the air, if nothing
else. It would be good to get to know the territory. "And you'll have to
tell me where else in your lands is beautiful."

"Well, I'va always liked Green Valley, while Black Rock and High Hills have
certain rugged, desolate beauty. The Range is always a majestic sight,"
Corowal told her.

"Those last two sound lovely. Are you usually in your own Hold, or do you
ever have time off to make a tour?"

"I do visit the minor holds now and then but not as often as I would like
to. My steward goes around them much more often," Corowal answered.

"Is that disappointing?" she asked.

"A bit. But then I get to visit Weyr and other Holds, while he's
housesitting," Corowal replied with roguish grin.

"That part sound the most fun. Seeing new sights and places must be
exciting and you get to know people from all over."

"It is, I've always enjoyed travelling," Corowal replied.

She hadn't expected to actually like talking to the Lord Holder, and found
herself smiling a little bigger. "Well hopefully with upcoming formal
events you'll get more of a chance."

"Me too. Now, would you honour me with this dance?" Corowal answered
and asked, puting all his considerate charm on it.

"I would love to, my lord," Kapera said.

"Shall we then?" Corowal said and putting away his glass, led her to
the dance floor.

She took his arm and followed, pleased that she was getting along so
well with the Lord Holder. Hopefully she'd have fine working
relationships with those under her territory, and so far things seemed
off to a good start.
