Description: After Erdenth won Zinnath's flight, there was some awkwardness about
things...
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 8, day 6 of Turn 7
Notes: Mentioned: Mai
That the flight was over, there was no doubt. Erdenth was emitting that
sense of contentedness he had learned over the turns to associate with that
moment, the one that said that the pair of them had done well, and should
really feel pleased with themselves for winning such a prize.
The young rider who lay next to him was not someone he immediately
recognised. Their dark hair was worn a little longer than some, and the
sleeping figure beneath the remaining furs was obviously young, and male.
Zinnath's glowing happiness with her new mate filled B'lor and knowing
who the rider was filled him with a mixture of elation and fear. Still
a smile curved his lips as he rolled onto his back. "That was
wonderful," he gushed.
"Your green led my Erdenth a merry chase," K'reyel said as he sat up in the
bed, furs falling away from his chest as he slowly moved away from the young
man. Flight effects or no, he intended to go back to his weyrmate.
"She did didn't she." His eyes glowed at the bronze rider. He would be
able to remember when his biggest crush was fulfilled and he'd never
really dreamed it would be possible. "Thank you," he said softly and
caressed the other riders thigh.
"You're welcome," K'reyel said politely, even as he could feel B'lor's hand,
and what the remaining flight lust was doing to him. "I'm sure she'll fly
many more times," he looked at the young man, who seemed not much more
than a boy. "Perhaps we could drink to that?"
B'lor was more than astonished. He'd had a not so secret crush on the
Winsecond and had for months. The tiny response he'd felt gave him a
little bit of hope and how here the other one was offering drinks.
Perhaps he misunderstood or perhaps he just wanted to misunderstand.
"I hope you catch us again," he said breathlessly and let his hand roam
higher.
"Maybe," the tone was non-committal as the Wingsecond used it as an excuse
to leave the bed, and hunt for the wine skin and glasses that were always
left in a flight room for this purpose.
B'lor watched the other rider walk across the room with a smile on his
face. He admired the way K'reyel walked and when he.... "Oh my," he
said. "Yes please."
"It's red," K'reyel said as he poured the drinks, then reached for his
undershorts to pull them back on, aware if the scrutiny he was facing from
the greenrider, suddenly realising that the younger man was still feeling
the flight, and possibly more.
"Red is good," B'lor said. Down deep he knew he had no real chance
with the man but he could dream right?
"There you go," K'reyel stretched out to give the young man his drink.
Perhaps their fingers touched briefly, perhaps not, but even so the drink
was accepted from him.
B'lor was in a little slice of his private fantasy and the young man
couldn't help his bodily reaction to the bronzerider. He sighed and
sat up to take the glass and take a drink.
"Are you sure you wouldn't like...." his voice trailed off.
"I have a weyrmate," K'reyel said gently. "The flight was good, but perhaps
we should leave it there."
"Alright," he said slowly. Then he unfolded his legs and walked over
to K'reyel. "But if you ever want to." His hand trailed across the
mans chest toward his waistband. "I'm available."
"Not tonight," K'reyel said, moving away to put some distance between them.
"Tonight I need to go back to my weyrmate and son."
B'lor turned away when he withdrew. A little look if disappointment
crossed his face. "Oh well, If you have to," he said.
The disappointment was obvious, but K'reyel just didn't go that way. "It's
for the best, she'll need to see me."
**Lucky girl** B'lor thought sadly and sat back on the bed to finish
his wine. "Sure," he nodded.
