Description: Reaffirming a special friendship.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 7, day 27 of Turn 7

Saibra swiped a strand of her hair out of her face in frustration,
emitting a small growl as she shoved her sleeves up to her elbows.
"How in the name of Faranth do these people stay in so much clothing
all the time?" She didn't understand it. The weather was absolutely
frigid outside so she would put on her thick riding leathers, a long
sleeve shirt, and a fur-lined vest. Step inside the Weyr, and within
fifteen minutes she was pouring with sweat and wishing she had on one
of her sleeveless tunics from Dolphin Cove. There was no safe way to
dress around this sun forsaken place.
}:I know of something that will cheer you up.:{ Chioneth spoke from
where she was all curled up and cozy with Nirreth. That alone was
enough to make Saibra roll her eyes. It wasn't that she despised
G'nir, per se, because he had certainly known his way around the
bedroom after Nirreth and Chioneth's flight. However, the man's
impractical notions of women's modesty and "dignity", as he put it,
were enough to drive Saibra crazy. In the guise of trying to "get
along" with her Weyrleader, Saibra had even taken to wearing more
clothes than was usual for her, and she was hating every minute of it.
**What?** She groused.
}:Mnoranth's rider is here to visit with you. He is on his way - :{
The door opened, and Saibra's face lit up when she saw R'enh walk
through, "I'm saved!"
"My dear Weyrwoman," he flourished an elegant bow. Then he stepped
forward and took her into his arms. "I've missed you."
"Certainly not as much as I have missed you." Saibra took solace in
the bronzerider's arms. She breathed in deeply, "Shards, you even
smell like sunshine and the beach."
"We can be there in a heartbeat," he kissed the top of her head.
"Sorry I wasn't here for your flight," he said softly and found that
he meant it. He'd been thinking about winning her flight and would
certainly have tried if she'd still been at Dolphin Cove. But it
wasn't to be and the Weyrleader had certainly not opened up the
flight.
"I know. If it had been at Dolphin Cove I have no doubt Mnoranth would
have been the winner. Rider's preference can go a long way you know."
Saibra sighed, "It has been harder here than I thought it would be.
G'nir is nothing like N'vanik."
"I know," he said softly. "And I'm sorry. But on the bright side,
you're Senior Weyrwoman now. You'll find a way to work with him."
"We worked fine between the sheets." She rolled her eyes with the
beginnings of a smile on her lips, "I guess you have to start
somewhere right? G'nir is a fine Weyrleader, he is just use to a
'lady' Weyrwoman," she cocked her eyebrows at R'enh, "and we both know
I am no lady."
"Well you know he's Blood. I don't imagine he really thinks about how
much influence that can have on his expectations." He didn't let her
go but smiled and kissed her. "It's one of your most endearing
qualities and I'm sure he will come to appreciate it. Besides," he
added. "You do clean up nice. I'm sure you can work him Saibra. Apply
those skills."
Saibra sighed, "I will, I will. Now, enough business. Let's go to the
beach! If I see one more snow flake I will scream." She shot him in a
teasing smile.
"I know just the beach for us," he grinned. "There are some wonderful
memories there." he pulled her out toward Mnoranth and then mounted
and reached down to help her up. "Know where I mean?"
The Weyrwoman smiled, "I think I know exactly where you mean." The
beach where R'enh had met up with her after Panitath's flight. She
placed her hand into the bronzerider's as she was helped up onto
Mnoranth's neckridge. Saibra knew she would have to find new friends
and lovers at Dragonsfall, but for today, with R'enh, it felt like
nothing had changed.
Azure water and a bright beach filled the horizon when the popped out
over the little bay. Dolphins danced on their tails as if to invite
the big bronze to plan. **Drop us on the beach first**
R'enh could feel the big bronze almost 'harumph' his disappointment at
not dunking his rider. So they spiraled in and he slid off the side
then turned to catch Saibra as she dismounted.
"There," he said pointing at the very spot where they'd made love that
day. He took her hand and kissed it. "I've missed you."
"It is little wonder why every woman in the Weyr loves you." She said
with a smile. How many men would remember things like that?
"And I have missed you too. Are you sure you don't want to live in a
colder climate?" She teased.
R'enh laughed "Pretty sure," he said and led her across the sand to
their spot. "Though I don't mind visiting it now and then. Sorry I
didn't bring a picnic," he said as he sat in the warm sand. The day
was spectacular and the sun glinted off the waves as they curled into
the shore.
Saibra began stripping out of her clothing, unwrapping her scarf first
and letting the breeze blow it onto the sand. Next came the thick,
woolen sweater, and then the thick leather breeches and boots. She
reveled in the feel of the hot sun on her skin and the hot sands
beneath her feet. "This is better than a picnic anyway." She sighed as
she turned her face up toward the sun.
"You know, I am going to make it work at Dragonsfall," she peered
sideways at him, "I don't want you going back to Dolphin Cove worrying
that I am losing my mind." She laughed a little, her lips tugging
sideways into a smile, "I think... I have just never been homesick
before. Shards, a Turn from now I may actually like snow and the cold,
and you won't even recognize me any more."
He shook his head he didn't want this, didn't want her to be gone so
very far away. But it though it wasn't his choice about her location
he would not forget her, could not forget her. "Never happen," he said
and drew her into his arms for a nice long and very tender kiss.
