Location: Dragonsfall Weyr

Saibra was alone in her new weyr. She hated being alone but Saidrene
still wasn't speaking to her and Kaibren was with his new foster
mother. As much as she loved having her son with her, Saibra was
logical enough to see that he needed to bond and form a connection
with his foster family.
If she had been at Dolphin Cove being alone would not have even been
an issue. There would have been R'enh or Jenackt to help with that.
Since she was alone, Saibra had decided to do some informative
reading, at least, she hoped it was informative.
When a knock came at her door she didn't bother with a robe, but
answered it in her "comfortable" night attire, which consisted of a
pair of cut-off shorts, cut so high they were barely even there, and a
low-cut, v-neck tunic made out of a thin cotton. It was cold at
Dragonsfall, but the fireplace in her weyr did more than enough to
heat the area.
"Why, G'nir," she opened her door, a smile wreathing her face, "this
is a surprise. What brings you by?" She flicked her long, inky black
hair over her shoulder.
When she opened the door, G'nir's eyes nearly popped out. Hygalia had
never answered the door dressed like that. She had at least a robe
covering her up. Not that he minded the view, as a male and bronzerider.
It was still unsettling.
"Eh, I thought you might want to see some calculations about Weyr
population, demographics and the estimate of how our population will
grow. I recently got them from Weyrharper," it took a bit time for him
to recover his wits.
Saibra's eyebrows raised and she opened her door wider with a smile,
"Well come in then, Weyrleader, I just had a fresh pitcher of klah
brought up not five minutes ago."
"Don't you want to, erh, get decent first?" G'nir asked, hesitating on the door.
"Decent?" She looked down at herself and then back up at G'nir, "This
is _very_ decent for me.... Unless it bothers you." Saibra hadn't
figured the Weyrleader for a bashful sort.
They obviously had a very different idea of what was decent, but G'nir
was not going to complain. She did have lot to show off. "Not if it
doesn't bother you," he shrugged a bit and stepped inside.
"Very little bothers me." Saibra said closing the door, "I am no
Rhosyn, but certainly no lady either.... At least, not in my weyr
anyway." She motioned for him to sit on the couch.
"So was that a yes or no on klah?"
"Yes, thank you," G'nir replied. Taking the seat, he dropped the hides
on the table. "How are you settling in?" he asked.
Saibra poured them both a cup of klah and joined the Weyrleader on the
couch, "As well as can be expected I think. I like it here but...
Well, I have always been at a beach Weyr. The freezing temperatures
here are going to have to grow on me."
"Yes, that does take a little getting used to. Of course, I Impressed
Nirreth here, so I was already familiar with the climate. And Beryl
Plains isn't the warmest hold either," G'nir replied.
"I am thinking that a warmer wardrobe will be in order for me. I
didn't have time to really get much together before leaving Dolphin
Cove." And covering up her body had never been a big "to-do" on
Saibra's agenda. Still, she was sure there would be some way for her
to spice up even the drabbest of winter outfits.
"Yes, that would be sensible. We have some very good weavers here,"
perhaps there was bit of veiled critizism towards her current attire
in his words.
Saibra cocked her eyebrow, "You are not a prude, are you Weyrleader?"
"Let's just say that I'm used to women who show dignity and decency,"
G'nir replied bit stiffly. Being called prude did sting a little.
A smile curved across Saibra's face as she asked silkily, "Do you
think I am indecent, G'nir?" From what she was gathering of the woman
she was replacing, Hygalia had been the real "lady" type. Boy was
Dragonsfall in for a surprise with their new Weyrwoman.
Even G'nir realized when he was about to put his foot to his mouth. He
shrugged a bit and countered with question of his own: "Don't you get
cold?"
Saibra tilted her head and raised her cup of klah, "Not in my weyr,
the fireplace keeps it nice and warm," she raised her eyes to G'nir,
"and having another warm body in the bed always helps with that as
well."
Now, that woke up G'nir's interest. "Yes, that does help," he grinned.
She sure wasn't like Hygalia, that was becoming clear.
She took that as a good sign, "You know, there is no reason for us to
be strangers in the bed should Nirreth catch Chioneth." It was an
invitation, clear and simple.
G'nir needed no further invitations. Hidework could wait.
Saibra smiled, now that was what she wanted to hear from the handsome
Weyrleader. She rose, took his hand, and led G'nir to her bed. The
perfect way to begin a working relationship, she thought.
