Description: N'vanik comes to visit Talryne for one reason, which she doesn't seem to mind.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 9, day 6 of Turn 3
He hoped he had the right weyr. He'd even stopped a drudge to ask her for directions. He _hated_ asking for sharding directions. This had better be worth it. N'vanik knocked on the door and then waited for an answer.
Hopefully, she wouldn't have company.
A few moments later he was rewarded when Talryne opened the door, giving him an surprised smile. The fact that she'd been terribly tempted to invite him back to her weyr had made her determined _not_ to do so. Having him show up on his own, however... well, that was obviously beyond her control and therefore perfectly acceptable. Really. "N'vanik. How nice to see you." "I was wondering if you could help me with a problem? I have this bottle of wine," he took it from behind his back, "and no one to share it with."
As far as approaches went, it wasn't the most creative one she'd ever seen... but that didn't stop her from stepping to the side and pulling the door open. "Wine might be even better than klah for keeping warm in this frozen wasteland. Bring it inside." N'vanik grinned broadly as he entered the weyr. "And I know a few things better than wine. But we can get to that later."
The weyr was neat enough, since Talryne hadn't had much time to accumulate much in the way of personal belongings since she'd Impressed. Scooping up a couple of tunics, the greenrider dumped them onto a chair and gestured to the couch. "I'll get glasses for the wine."
The bronzerider set the wine bottle on the table and flopped down on the couch, draping an arm across the back of it. Her brain was still chattering merrily away about what a bad idea this was, but Talryne had pretty much decided to not care. After all, she was lonely... and there was a nice looking bronzerider in her weyr who had exactly the sort of aggressive edge that she'd always found irresistable. Talryne returned with two glasses, setting them next to the wine before she settled onto the other end of the couch with her feet tucked up under her.
"So, what did I do to earn the privilage of wine?"
"Nothing . . . yet," he said, tilting his head. "Oh?" Talryne lifted an eyebrow and smiled at him. "Should I be flattered that you're assuming I'll be able to? What if I'm not up to your standards?"
"I'm willing to take that risk." He leaned forward and opened the wine. "A bottle of wine is a small price to pay if I get to try out that fine body of yours."
"I'd say." She reached forward to accept a glass. "It would have to be _really_ good wine, or I'd have to be pretty horrible."
N'vanik lifted his glass. "Here's hoping you're not horrible." The girl was definately easy on the eyes, and just watching her move he had serious doubts that she could be horrible. The question wasn't whether she was good or not--it was how good was she.
She lifted her glass as well, but didn't take a sip yet. "And what if I'm the opposite of horrible... do you _really_ think a bottle of wine will be enough?" "Well, you get me too," N'vanik said, "And I'm _much_ better than a bottle of wine."
Talryne laughed and took a sip from her glass. "Well, the question is how you intend to go about proving it. Usually I could go on making witty comments for a good long while yet, but I'm cold and you look like you're good at... generating body heat." The bronzerider slid closer to her. "I am." He brushed her hair aside and kissed her neck. She managed to get her glass to the side table without dropping it before turning to slide her fingers into his hair. Tighting her fingers, she pulled his head back so she could look in his eyes. "So what's your style, bronzerider? We can do it quick and dirty if you like, but I prefer my men with a little stamina."
"I can last." He moved his arm around her waist. Talryne laughed lowly into his hair before tracing the rim of his ear with her lips. "Is that so?"
N'vanik slipped his hand under her tunic and brushed his fingers along her spine. "You want proof? I can give you proof."
"I want proof," she confirmed, her lips tracing the line of his jaw until she could meet his eyes. "Come on, bronzerider. Inspire me."
