R'enh

R'enh

R'enh reached around Chaysea when they got to his door and opened it
with a practiced flick of his wrist. The room was dimly lit by a
single glow as he followed her into the main room, he turned several
more to give the room a nice warm light.

He wasn't one to let things get messy and other than laundry and
clearing food items drudges normally had little to do in his Weyr. The
sleeping area was curtained off and he didn't intend to take Chaysea
in there in any case.

He was fairly certain she was going to be uncomfortable no matter what
so before she turned around, he pulled his tunic off over his head and
shook it out to drape over the back of the chair. Not everything a
once just the shirt.

Chaysea licked her lips and tried to calm the frantic staccato if her
heartbeat. As the man's shirt came off it exposed a finely sculpted
back and when he turned, a leanly muscled chest. Besides the day she
had seen Z'an practically naked by the Weyrlake, Chaysea had never
been up close with a man who wasn't wearing a shirt. Helping dress
her seventy-three Turn old ailing husband just didn't count.

What was she supposed to do now?

"Why don't you sit down on the couch," he said. He was a bit puzzled
by her reactions. She had been married but she was acting like a young
one who'd never really been alone with a naked man. "Would you like a
glass of wine to help with the..." he didn't want to say nerves but
that was what he was thinking.

"Yes, please." Chaysea agreed as she sat down on the bronzerider's
couch. It amazed her how comfortable R'enh was having a woman he
barely knew watching him undress.

He nodded and went to his cupboard for a rather nice bottle. Bringing
two glasses back he handed one to her and sat at the far end. "So tell
me about your husband Chaysea."

Chaysea swirled the wine in her glass, "His name was Dothran, he was a
Master Vintner at the Hall," she took a sip of the wine, "and he would
probably would have scathing things to say about this vintage. Nothing
ever exactly pleased him."

"Ahh," he said as he watched her begin to relax a little. "Then he was
older than you. How long were you married?"

She took another sip of her wine, "He was much older than me actually,
well into his seventies when he and I were married." Chaysea looked up
from her drink, wondering if the dragonrider would find that strange.

"We were married for six Turns before he passed away."

"I'm sorry for your loss," he replied but he couldn't help the thought
that womens lot in the wider world wasn't an easy one. "So you've not
seen a _young_ man naked then."

"Yes, I guess that would be more accurate." Chaysea said with a little
laugh. People always gave her condolences when she told them she was a
widower but there had been no love lost between her and her husband.
Still, the polite thing was to accept the well wishes and so she
always did.

She seemed more comfortable now and almost used to seeing his chest.
So, he put down his glass and stood. Placing his thumbs in the
waistband of his sleeping trousers he half smiled. "Ready?"

Chaysea's eyes widened but she took a determined gulp of her wine and
nodded her head firmly, as if she were about to be faced with a
difficult task, "Ready."

And in one smooth move he pulled them down and then stepped out of
them and stood for a moment in full view while he folded and dropped
them in a nearby chair. Then he took his seat again and picked up his
glass. It was a bit odd but he didn't try to look into her eyes but
gave her a chance to get a good look without pressure.

Chaysea was glad that he wasn't looking at her because she was
_definitely_ looking at him. There was a significant difference
between her departed seventy-odd Turn old husband and this fine
specimen of bronzerider that sat before her.

She took another drink of her wine, which really was helping her feel
warm and relaxed, "Hey, I didn't faint or anything." She teased.

"Good," he chuckled though he did try to keep it just the pleasant
positive and minimal smile. "It might get a little awkward trying to
revive you."

The Headwoman smiled, "Thank you for doing this, R'enh. Z'an warned me
that most dragonriders would not have as honorable intentions one they
found out... about me." About her innocence really.

He nodded but then looked puzzled. "What about you?"

Chaysea set her glass of wine aside, "The fact that I am more... Hm...
Innocent than most women here. Especially for my age."

His glass stopped on the way to his mouth and he set it down again
before giving her a level look. "Then you took a very big chance
coming up here tonight Chaysea. You do realize that don't you?" He
certain wasn't one to lecture women he was more the type to take them
wherever they really wanted to go with as much care as he could. "Most
dragonriders will take no for an answer with the exception of the
influence of a flight. That would make gold flights particularly
dangerous for you. Which is why we tell our weyrlings to take care of
it before their first flights."

The woman released a little sigh, "Yes, I know, Z'an told me. But I am
not one of your Weyrlings and therefore the remedy to the...
problem... is a little more complicated." And she was holdbred, that
was certainly throwing a wrench in things. Chaysea had felt that she
could trust the Weyrsecond, after all, if she couldn't trust the man
in charge under the Weyrleader who could she trust?

"Yes," he agreed. "I can see that it would be. Especially with the
social proclivities of our former Headwoman." He waived his hand. "But
we don't need to get into that and you are most definitely not her."
He thought a moment more before he picked up his glass again. "I'm
fairly open about my relationships with women and I care about them
Chaysea. But you should know up front that I'm not exclusive and
probably never will be. But," he smiled this time with tenderness and
intimacy. "I like you, and if what you want is to have a wonderful
first time. I would be honored to give that to you at any time of your
choosing."

Even the relaxing affects of the wine couldn't stop Chaysea's blush
this time, "Thank you for the offer, R'enh." She could honestly say no
one had ever offered her _that_ before, "I will certainly consider
it." Chaysea wasn't sure if she could change enough to just have sex
with someone so casually, but it was a solution to the problem she
seemed to have, and R'enh certainly seemed nice enough. Time would
tell.

"More," he asked smiling and picked up the bottle to hover over her
glass. His body was firmly under control and didn't even twitch
inappropriately. "I can promise you would enjoy yourself."
