Jeyme was surprised, to say the least, when she opened her weyr door
to find her sister standing on the other side, "Judassa? What are you
doing here?"

"Is that any way to greet your favorite sister?" Judassa sported a smile.

"Favorite huh?" Jeyme's voice held the hint of a tease. Judassa was
only a Turn older than Jeyme, and the two had always been competitive
with one another, about everything. "I suppose I don't recognize you
with that hair."

Judassa shook her shoulder length hair, all of which had been cut and
layered forward to frame her heart shaped face, "You like it? I just
got it before coming here. Couldn't show up at the Weyr with an old
Hold hair-do, now could I?"

Jeyme rolled her eyes at her sister, but opened the door to her weyr
and invited her in, "I can't believe father even let you come."

Judassa strode into the weyr, her dark brown eyes calculating quickly,
before she turned back to smile at her, "Oh, you know I know how to
bend Daddy's ear."

This made the greenrider shake her head, "You always have."

"So where is this bronzerider mate of yours?" Judassa asked, looking
around as she seated herself on the couch.

"He has Wing drills today with his Wing." Jeyme answered as she joined
Judassa on the couch.

"Well? Is he everything that a bronezerider is supposed to be?"
Judassa waggled her eyebrows, her voice taking a conspiratorial tone.

Even though she rolled her eyes, Jeyme found herself smiling. It felt
just like when she and Judassa had been little girls, giggling and
staying up late together talking about boys, "Yes, he is... and more!"

"I'm what?" D'hol stepped in, pulling off his riding helmet and
arching a brow at the pair on the couch. His eyes flicked over the
newcomer with mild curiosity, taking in the similarities between she
and Jeyme before turning to his weyrmate. "More family?"

Jeyme's eyes widened and she sat up a bit straighter, like a child
being caught stealing sweets from the kitchen, "You are here," Jeyme
blushed, but Judassa looked unrepentant as she studied the newcomer,
"and yes, more family.... Better family, actually. This is my sister,
Judassa."

"Her _older_ sister." Judassa pointed out, cutting teasing eyes at Jeyme.

"By a whole Turn." Jeyme added with a wave of her hand.

"Hmm." He nodded and kicked off his boots under his table. His last
experience with her family had left a rotten taste in his mouth.
"Well, at least this time, you're comfortable." He nodded to Judassa
and went to their wardrobe to get clean clothes.

"Uh oh, that must mean that Father was his usual, charming self."
Judassa's voice dripped with sarcasm.

Jeyme chuckled, "They even offered to foster the baby."

Judassa feigned surprise, putting a dramatic hand to her chest, "And
you didn't want _dear_ sweet Daddy raising your child? I am shocked!"

"Well, he wasn't shocked at all, although Mother was a bit wounded, I
think." Jeyme conceded, expecting Judassa to agree, but her older
sister merely pursed her lips and shrugged.

"Mother only stands up to Father if it is something she wants."
Judassa's voice seemed cryptic, but she glanced up at Jeyme and rolled
her eyes, "Enough talk about _them_, they are a drag. Why don't you
show me around the Weyr?" She asked, pushing to her feet.

Jeyme stood, and looked at D'hol, "You want me to bring supper back?"
Sometimes it was nice to escape the noise of the Dining Cavern for
quiet meals in the weyr.

D'hol sneered at the thought of Jeyme's parents having anything to do
with _his_ child. Only if he were lost between and Jeyme brain addled
would that ever happen. He turned to Jeyme and nodded. "Yes, that
sounds fine. I'm going to bathe. Enjoy your time with your sister."

"I will." She said as she looped arms with Judassa, "Come dear, Juda,
I will show you all of the best sights.... Like the Weyrlake."

Judassa's eyebrows furrowed, "The Weyrlake?"

"Oh yes, it is where the dragonriders bathe their dragons."

"Why would I want to see that?" Judassa asked with obvious confusion.

"Because most of them wash their dragons in very little... or no...
clothing at all. I promise you will _appreciate_ the scenery." Jeyme
smiled impishly as she tugged her sister out the door.
