"Afternoon lovely one, is your other half around?" Deajul knew he was being rather cheeky speaking directly to Denenth without B'jon even in sight, but the temptation was simply too great, besides he didn't expect her answer him or anything. Truth was he missed his friend.
Denenth looked at him, and while she didn't answer him, she turned her head purposefully towards the entrance to lower caverns, making a gesture that indicated her rider was in there.
"You my lady are as kind as you are lovely." He flashed the young green a smile and headed for the lower caverns. He couldn't see the green weyrling when he entered so he called his firelizard. "Jeweler, see if you can find B'jon, Denenth said he was here."
B'jon came out of Headwoman's office and noticed familiar flit. "Hey there, Jeweler." Now that he was about become a senior weyrling, he need lot of new stuff...like weyr of his own.
~~Deajul~~ the blue sent. ~~Deajul and B'jon eating~~ was followed by a trill. Jeweler knew his pet missed this man.
"All right, Jeweler. Tell him I'll be there shortly," B'jon grinned. He could feel Denenth reach mentally for the firelizard. She was curious.
Deajul waited fiddling with his hair, Jeweler had let him know that B'jon was on his way and he decided that waiting was better than wandering.
"Hey, Deajul!" B'jon called and waived his hand.
"B'jon, Are you in the mood to grab some lunch?" He crossed the distance between them and gave the greenrider a quick hug.
"Sure. Careful with that, I'm not officially freed from the weyrling ban yet," B'jon answered to the question and hug.
"Oh yeah, that. I thought you had your own weyr now?" If there was anything that Deajul did not relish about the idea of impressing it was the "weyrling ban", who knew maybe it would be easier with a dragon of his own.
"Yes, but we haven't /betweened/ yet," B'jon replied. "I think that's the big moment." Flight training with Denenth was exhilarating. He was nervous about going /between/. "Come, let's get food," he headed for the serving line. "I hope they don't have herdbeast. Watching Denenth hunt for her own food has kind of put me off from herdbeast meat."
The comment about going /between/ sobered him for a moment. He'd known a few weyrlings who had never come back and the idea of it happening to B'jon scared him. Outwardly Deajul forced himself to laugh, "Yeah but what we get served _is_ cooked." He offered. He sniffed. "I think you get your wish, I smell fish."
"Oh good," B'jon said and took tray. He started to load it with food. "Did you know that some dragons fish? They actually dive in to the sea and catch fish underwater?" That had come as surprise to B'jon. Somehow he had presumed that dragons avoided water, like some avians.
"Really? I knew some dragons like to swim, but fishing? Sounds like fun, What does Denenth think of the idea?" He followed B'jon's example.
"Uh, I try to avoid giving her any ideas...just getting her out of weyrlake is task and a half. She likes to splash around," B'jon answered. Having his tray full, he started to look for free table. "How about you? What have you been up to? Anything I should be aware of?"
"Just a repeat of candidate classes and my craft." He laughed, "One of these days I might let it slip then, just to see what she does."
"Fine, and I let you try to get her out of water then," B'jon retorted and finding a free table, sat down.
"And just what are the odds she would even hear me? I'm not her rider." He slid into a seat across from B'jon.
"She has ears you know, well, ear knobs. She'll hear you, heeding you, now that's the issue," B'jon replied.
Deajul cleared his throat rudely. "I kinda figured that, after all she let me know where to find you. What does she think of me anyway?"
B'jon's eyes glazed over and he was silent for a moment when he inquired about it from her. "I got the impression that she doesn't think of you at all. She knows you're my friend, and that's it," he said with apologetic shrug. "Most dragons just seem to ignore non-riders."
"I figured that much, I was just curious. Do you need any help moving to your new weyr? Cause I can find the time."
"I sure do," B'jon replied cheerfully. "I didn't bring much when I was Searched, just one bag of clothes, so I need all kind of stuff from the Weyr's stores. Like furniture and something to decorate the place. I just got the Headwoman's permission to rummage the storage rooms and take what I need to furnish my new weyr. Right now it has just a bed, a small table, chair and clothes chest."
"Is that your plan for the rest of the day?" **A chance for a sneak peak** the candidate mused to himself.
"Well, I have visualization practice at the afternoon, but yeah, that's what I'm going to do on my free time," B'jon replied.
"I'll be in the barraks studying whenever you need me, or you could have the lovely one ask Jeweler if she wants."
"I will."
