Sasima

She just wanted to be left alone. Paetri grumbled uncharacteristically
at J'kri as she walked past him, her hand tugging at her braid in
irritation. She didn't want to go eat and she sharding well didn't
want to go relax. Instead, she stomped her way outside to the
weyrbowl, her arms crossed firmly over her chest. And she wasn't in a
bad mood!

Camilth, flicked her tail in annoyance at a snuffling brown and
hissing, emerged from the lake. The sun glinted off of her hide,
hiding the inner glow for only a moment before Paetri's eyes slid
along her and she went still, eyes widening. It couldn't be...could
it? Her jaw dropped as the green gave a sudden shrill cry. **Wait! I'm
not ready!**

Camilth ignored her rider and reared, bugling her intent as her tail
lashed behind her. Uncaring for the moment of her rider's shock, she
leapt into the air, glowing hide advertising her readiness.

J'kri staggered into the wall as lust hit him. }:I want Camilth!:{
Rademerth shouted as he took off after the green.

**Camilth?!** J'kri had hoped his dragon would get some chasing
experience before she rose. The blue didn't stand much of a chance
catching the first green he ever chased.

Right behind him was a much experienced adversary. Jodeth might not be
as fast as the young blue, but he knew greens. This one was young and would
appreciate the value he could give her. Pumping his wings to gain ground, he
jockeyed into position, not worried about saving energy.

W'ser was rather use to Branth participating in mating flights. The
brown seemed to love to chase after the myriad of green hides around
the Weyr and today looked to be no different. Leaving what he was
working on with one of his journeymen, W'ser rolled down his sleeves
as he strolled outside. It wasn't until he saw a flash of the green
dragon in Branth's mind that he came to a stunning realization...
"Paetri?!" He froze for a moment in the doorway of the infirmary. She
was his young apprentice, nearly like a daughter he had never had...
What if Branth won? It would be...W'ser shook his head. Branth hadn't
been on a winning streak or anything lately, the lumbering brown,
while handsome and suave, was not nearly as agile as the blues.

**He won't win.** W'ser assured himself before continuing on.

}: She will be mine! :{ Galerith challenged the other males while
taking his place among the chasers. The blue was confident, he had
caught many greens and this one was inexperienced. How could she not
choose handsome, wily blue like him?

Juth answered Galerith's challenge and landed to the ground. M'shan
slid down from his back and hurried to join the ring around the
green's rider. He noted she was very pretty and young.

** Good luck, mate** he said to Juth. The young brown didn't have any
wins yet. It would be nice to beat Sh'lua for once. He sighed.

She was hustled to the flightrooms by someone, but she didn't know
who, Paetri was still stunned by the sudden surprise and the complex
emotions that roiled off of Camilth. Normally so silly and flighty,
she hadn't been prepared for the pure intensity of them. She blinked
hazily at the appearance of men around her and for a moment felt a
dart of fear lance through her. She'd only been with J'kri...there he
was... she relaxed at the sight of him and felt comforted. Then her eyes
widened as pure need washed over her, arching her body back as her
mind joined with Camilth.

Peering behind her, Camilth cried out for those chasing her to keep
up. With quick wing beats, she darted upwards into the clouds and
disappeared into the roiling masses. Lost in the thrill of unfettered
flight, for a moment, she forgot about her chasers below her. Devious,
the green darted out of the clouds, flashing a glowing tail and then
back inside, daring them to come in after her.

W'ser slipped into the flight room, but maintained a low key position
by the door, hoping that Branth would be unsuccessful and then he
could go find Sasima. In the air, however, Branth-W'ser was having no
such reservations. The brown was big and powerful, even if he was less
agile than the blues that flew. Experience, as well, was on his side
as he followed behind the green, admiring her lithe body as she
maneuvered effortlessly through the air.

Sasima had taken to watching the bowl when there was a green flight
and today was no different so when she saw Branth ready to chase she
smiled and slipped up to the flight room to find W'ser. Sure enough
there he was already beginning to feel the pull. She was and
experienced moth and knew how to avoid unwanted entanglements. So,
she'd just wait and see if she could pull him away if he lost.

J'kri made it to the flight room, struggling to keep hold of his
senses. They'd been warned how powerful a mating flight was, but the
experience was overwhelming. His mind joined with his blue and he
could _feel_ his wings carry him through the sky. }:You are worthy of
me,:{ Rademerth called as he darted through the clouds after the lovely
green.

Entering the room next was P'nal. The tall brownrider took his own place
and stood, waiting. Jodeth had seen the green exulting in her freedom. They
all
did. The young ones didn't realize it took a lot of their energy doing
all that flitting about and sometimes the flights were shorter. He
snorted and continued onward,
muscling out some of the younger blues as he did so. Strong wingbeats pushed
him towards her, ready to catch when the time was right. His rider's strong
arms
would also waste no time in claiming their young prize.

Juth leaped to the air, eager to prove himself. Galerith followed soon
enough, crooning his admiration for the green.

Camilth waited until the dragons were close together. Hidden in the
clouds and with a gleeful cry, dove at them, intent on scattering the
males. She plunged through the group with a flirtatious flip of her
tail and darted in the opposite direction. Her tail flipped
tauntingly, daring at them to follow and catch.

Paetri unbound her hair with agile fingers, wove through the men
surrounding her, and then spun, echoing her dragon's movements with a
sinuous grace that she had never affected before. As Camilth darted
from the chasing males, Paetri turned, hips swaying and flipped her
hair back from face as she looked over her shoulder at the men, her
eyes half-lidded with primal desire.

Juth growled and somehow managed a sharp turn without colliding with
anyone and pushed with his full strength to stay after the the glowing
green.
}: You're wasting your strength, young one. You need to be smart, :{
Galerith smirked at him and gaining altitude, glided gracefully to
intercept her flight path. If he timed it right, he would snatch her
above before she realized what happened.

On the ground M'shan repeated Juth's primal grow of desire and reached
his hands towards her. She was so alluring.

W'ser watched Paetri move about with growing desire. Branth's
confidence and desire were his own as the brown surged closer toward
the nimble green. He loved that she was enjoying her aerial freedom in
her beautiful displays of her grace and power.

}:Camilth, I am here.:{ Rademerth saw the other males as nothing more
than obstacles. }:When I catch you, it will be wonderful.:{ He was
annoyed that she wasn't paying attention to him. Dodging a smaller
blue, he moved closer. J'kri reached for Paetri, burning with need.

Paetri's eyes slid over the reaching males and swaying towards them,
stayed just out of reach. Her hair draped over her shoulders and arms
like a silky curtain, glistening with every movement. So joined with
Camilth, she didn't see the men, but the dragons that chased her and
she was getting tired.

Camilth crooned a response to Rademerth, one of her constant
companions since hatching. But he was not as close or as strong as
some of the chasers. But perhaps...She slowed, her wings feeling the
strain of her acrobatics. Who did she want? Her gaze slid over to
Rademerth and she crooned; he had been her constant companion since
hatching. But there were others that were just so enticing...She
slowed a little more, wings beating slower and banked to get a better
look. She collided with the warmth of the younger brown and wings
tangled with his own.

Juth had been closing in her using sheer strenght and perseverance.
While she was distracted by the blue and Galerith was too high up,
Juth was gaining her. When the moment came, the young brown was so
surprised with the collision that he nearly missed his change. Only
nearly. Recovering, he spread his wings to slow their fall and twined
neck and tail with hers.

On the ground, M'shan actually elbowed his brother aside. "Mine," he
said and claimed Paetri for himself. For the first time.

"Enjoy, lil'bro. I know I do," Sh'lua just grinned and stepped out of
the way. He pulled one of the flight moth for himself.

W'ser could have melted to the floor in relief, instead, he locked
eyes with Sasima, a smile on his face as he crossed over to her and
wrapped his arms around her waist. _This_ was the way a flight should
be enjoyed!

Rademerth was utterly stunned. It hadn't occurred to him that another
dragon would win. J'kri clenched his fists and yelled their
disappointment before some sense of himself returned. Part of him had
hoped he might win, but he knew it was a long shot. He spared a glance
at Paetri, wrapped up the male rider. He only cared that she had a
good experience. The flight lust made his head spin and when an older
man grabbed for him he eagerly followed.
