Description: D'hol finally comes home to his weyr
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 5, day 4 of Turn 7
Though Yumath was still resting and healing in the infirmary, D'hol
had been discharged with instructions to rest and not exert himself
over the next sevenday. That alone was causing him to chomp at the
metaphorical bit. Though his head and body still ached and his memory
of his time in the infirmary was spotty, he had never been one to make
good use of idle time. Entering into his weyr, he rubbed at his still
slightly swollen temple with careful fingers before his eyes
immediately returned to the charts he had left before the threadfall
accident. Making a beeline to them, he kicked off his boots and
immediately began to flick through them.
Jeyme had been busy with Weyrling duties and unable to be at the
infirmary when D'hol was released, but as soon as she was done she
headed straight for their weyr. When she crossed over the threshold
she came to a stop. Shells, it was good to see the man sitting with
his Threadcharts. "Is this what 'taking it easy' looks like,
Wingleader?" She asked as she walked forward, an eyebrow arched.
D'hol looked up and stood straight. "Yes. They're not letting me fly
fall yet but I can look at charts." He gave a little lip quirk. "What
were you expecting?"
"This was exactly what I was expecting." She said, gesturing to the
charts, "If you had been lying down I would have been worried." Jeyme
came around the table and slid her arms darling her weyrmate's waist.
"I've spent enough time laying down." D'hol's voice held an irritable
edge, but his hands stroked her arms as they slid around him. He
hadn't liked being as weak as he had been, but the injury had rattled
him more than he liked to admit. It wasn't the first time he'd been
seriously injured in a Fall, but it had been the first that it had
been so random and unpredictable. Thread, by nature, was dangerous,
but the path could be at least tracked. The lightning had come out of
no where. The healers still didn't know if he would have permanent
problems with his heart or his brain from the incident; it was yet to
be seen.
"I agree. I quite like seeing you on your feet... For a little while."
With the unpredictable effects of the lightning strike still to be
seen, Jeyme did worry that D'hol would push himself too much. "You
hungry or thirsty? Can I get you anything?" She asked, tilting her
head back to look up at him.
The bronzerider looked down at her and arched a brow. "Are you
coddling me, Jeyme?"
"You're damn right I am." She responded, her eyebrows raised.
He met her stare, his fingers drumming along her arm as his other brow
rose to consider her. "Really..." The word was drawn out.
"...well...it's a pity I have to take it easy, then isn't it?" There
was a definite smirk before he reached to pinch her bottom. "I'm fine,
Jeyme. I'm not going anywhere. You don't need to coddle me."
Jeyme fought to keep a straight face, but knew it was a losing battle
as the corners of her mouth twitched, "I didn't say you couldn't have
some exercise, sir." Her eyes gleamed, although a soft sigh escaped
her, "D'hol, let me do for you just once, hm? You didn't sit for days
and watch the person you love wondering if they would wake up or not."
D'hol exhaled slowly and looked his weyrmate with slightly pursed
lips. It wasn't the first time she had mentioned love to him and for a
moment, he felt as though he should apologize for the worry he had put
her through, though it hadn't been his choice. He lifted his hand to
tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear; it came to him that this was
something that she needed to do far more than he needed to have done
for him. Slowly, he nodded. "Alright. But I don't need water and I'm
not hungry."
"So what do you need?" She asked curiously.
He watched her for a moment before slowly sliding his arms around her
back and tugging her towards him for an embrace, pillowing her head
against his shoulder. "How about we take a long bath and you can wash
my back." His voice was a murmur against her hair. "We can both
just...relax."
Jeyme closed her eyes and inhaled the wonderful scent of D'hol. There
had been a time when she had doubted whether she would ever be in his
embrace again. "I think that sounds perfect."
"Well then, woman...get you to the bathing chamber." He pulled away
enough to lead her to their bathing chamber and within short order, he
had disrobed and had sank into the steaming water with a groan of
satisfaction.
The greenrider followed close behind, shedding clothes as she went
until she stepped down into the heated pool of water. The water _did_
feel nice and she echoed D'hol's groan with a small sigh of her own.
Jeyme took a moment to simply enjoy the feeling of the hot water, "If
you will turn around I'll get to that back of yours."
D'hol rolled his shoulders and dunked his head under before rising to
turn his back to her. Normally not one to allow others to do for him,
he had to tell himself again to relax and let her do what she needed
to feel better. "Feel better?"
Jeyme chuckled at the question as she grabbed up a handful of
sweetsand worked it into a lather between her hands. Once they were
good and soapy, she ran her hands along D'hol's slick back, her
fingers gently massaging along his shoulders and neck, "Yes, I do."
And as she massaged his shoulders and neck, his eyes fluttered closed
and his head tilted forward with a low groan, so did he. "Could get
used to this..."
"Mmhmm." Jeyme replied, the tone saying 'I told you so' as she
massaged the tense muscles along his neck. Running her hands down his
spine she massaged his lower back next, the soapy suds sliding lazily
down his slick skin.
He gave another groan and shifted against her hands, enjoying the
soapy massage. He lifted his head to look over his shoulder, his lip
curling upwards. "And what do you want, Jeyme?"
"I have what I want right here with me." She wrapped her arms around
the man's waist from behind, press her chest up against his back,
"Although I could want more should my weyrmate feel recovered enough."
She winked.
There was a low laugh. "I've created a monster."
Jeyme laughed softly before pressing her lips to the man's shoulder,
"Yes, you have. An insatiable monster who enjoys giving you massages
and treating you nice. I would say it is an even trade."
"Hmm...Well, come around here and I can take care of that insatiable
problem you have."
The Weyrling wasted no time in moving around to face her weyrmate, the
water of the bathing pool rippling around them as she moved. She ran
her hands up the bronzerider's chest, over his shoulders and up the
back of his neck.
