She'd done some digging and questioning and with Solieira's and the healers' help, Rhosyn finally had a person of interest. She hadn't spoken to the girl further. Instead, she wanted to get K'sedel's thoughts on things since the outcome of a meeting with the girl could likely be something they would both have to deal with. Best to let him know something could happen ahead of time.
Walking across the Bowl, she stopped to wait while his Wing did their exercises. Rhosyn didn't run much these days. Too much risk of falling due to her uneven weight distribution.
K'sedel waved as he saw her coming in his direction. Best to let her know he had seen her and would come to meet her.
Taking the moment to get some sun, she waited and watched as they went through their cool down routine. It was good to see riders active and fit, knowing they were ready to fight Thread in top form. She had a white sundress on and a straw hat to keep her head from getting burned. Rhosyn had learned that lesson.
Taking up a water skin, and drinking from it, K'sedel walked over to the Weyrwoman. "Nice day," he remarked.
"Aye hot as usual, but nice." She was hot all the time anyway. Now it was worse. Rhosyn let him drink his water and cool down for awhile. She was also carefully waiting for everyone else to clear out. "I think I know someone who
might have been able to hurt Bahji, but I can't prove it. And there's no one else really."
"Oh?" An eyebrow quirked as he listened to her words.
"One of the candidates-her name is Eirlira. She's had other bad behavior too but nothing major. Some of it has involved some skillful manipulation, though." She looked to him. Even though this was a Weyrfolk matter which normally fell to her, she felt like she needed his opinion.
"Have you spoken to the Weyrlingmaster and Headwoman?" he asked. Their opinions on the candidates were vital, and needed consideration.
"Solieira and I have discussed it and we both agree on the girl's bad behavior but there's nothing to prove anything. Bahji didn't see anything." That was more than obvious. "The only thing would be if she were to admit it herself-that is, if it is her. But there doesn't seem to be anyone else." She hadn't spoken to H'vack again yet, instead coming to K'sedel himself. "H'vack has shared my reservations about her and her behavior as well in the past."
"Well she doesn't Stand then for the moment. If she asks why, we tell her it's her attitude. And that will give some time to investigate this properly. I don't want any gossip getting about," K'sedel said after a moment. "And I don't want any accusations getting out, that would be just as bad."
"How do you mean for us to investigate it? All we have is the rope. No witnesses. Bahji didn't hear or see anything. That's the problem I have. Other than her past behavior and the prior poor encounter with Bahji-we don't have anything.
I'm thinking maybe...make her do things she doesn't like. See if she acts up further. If she does, with us watching-we can send her back to the Hold or something. I doubt Solieira would want anyone like that on her staff. Let Morin have her." Rhosyn was at a loss. She had never in her life had to deal with a situation like this.
"I think we need to ask a few more discreet questions about her. H'vack will have an opinion, I'm sure as will Sol and her staff. Don't let people think you're jumping to conclusions, they'll say your pregnancy is making you see things that aren't there."
"So am I asking questions first or telling her she can't Stand?" Rhosyn was confused. And with Vilarth having just flown, this was important.
"Both at the same time I think," K'sedel thought for a moment. "She doesn't need a reason, just to be told that she's not eligible for this Hatching."
"Allright. I'll talk to the others again and maybe to a few more. I wonder what her fellow candidates might say." Rhosyn put her hands above her chest, tapping one against her cheek. "Maybe if it makes her angry enough, she'll step out of line."
