Honalyse often volunteered to allow a Candidate to shadow her. It was
her way of giving back the Weyr and meeting new people. Somehow,
though, this time she had missed the deadline. She could have signed
her name to the volunteer sheet, but it was the silliest thing, she
just... forgot... So now she had no choice, really. She would just
have to walk down to the Weyrling Assistants offices and tell them as
much.
So it was for that reason, and that reason _only_ that she stood outside
U'das' office. It had _nothing_ to do with the fact that they had snuck
into one of the back restroom stalls at the Turns End celebrations and
had her dress hiked up to her waist and his pants down around his knees.
Absolutely nothing at all...
U'das sitting at his desk, organizing the candidate hides to a groups.
The greenrider knocked, but didn't wait for an invitation to open the door.
"Excuse me, I'm looking for a Weyrlingmaster Assistant to help me... Oh,"
she said, coming up short with wide eyes, as if surprised. As if.
"U'das... I... This is _your_ office?"
"Hi, Honalyse. It's now," U'das replied. "Haven't you heard that piece of
gossip? I'm H'vack's assitant now."
"I may have heard it, but I forget things easily," she said with a flip of
her hand, as if that bit of information hadn't been important enough for
her to remember. "Anyway, I'm here because I forgot to sign up to have a
Candidate shadow me. Do you have the list? I'd like to add my name to
it."
"Sure," U'das pulled out the list and pushed it over the table to her. "I'm
happy you're volunteering," he said.
"I usually do," she said, picking up the list and moving closer to his
side of the desk. "Do you have something to write with I can borrow?"
Quill and inkwell followed the list. Maybe it was bit old-fashioned, but
U'das liked using quill-pen. It probably had something to do with his
chartography-training.
She didn't bat an eyelash as she dipped the quill into the ink and set the
list down on the desk next to one of his piles. She bent over, perhaps a
bit more than necessary, so she could write her name. Her thigh brushed
purposefully against his arm as she did so.
She might as well send him an open letter of invitation. Only his sense
of Honalyse often volunteered to allow a Candidate to shadow her. It was

decency prevented U'das to take her there and then. "So, I'm almost done
here. Do you have plans for the evening?"
"Plans?" she asked innocently. Or as close as Honalyse could manage. "I
hadn't thought that far."
"Well," U'das leaned backwards. "I've moved to a new weyr. It's not as
fancy as the Wingleader's but it still has a private bath chamber. Do you
want to test it?"
"Are you accusing me of being dirty, bronzerider?" she asked, peeking at
him over her shoulder with a coy smile.
"It depends..." U'das said with a grin.
The greenrider gave him an enticing smile as she turned, and threw a leg
over his lap. Settling slowly into him, she all but purred, "On what?"
"How dirty you want to be," U'das whispered and nibbled her earlobe.
