Jylanya

Finally, finally! Naton had to restrain himself not to break into a
run as he made way for Jylanya's office. It had been too long, way too
long since he'd held her in his arms, kissed her soft lips and he
really couldn't take it a second longer. Flinging the door open he
swooped in, his eyes searching the room for his beloved lady.

"Naton?" Her head popped up from behind her desk where she'd been
retrieving a fallen hide. "You're back!"

"Jyls!" Naton practically squealed in delight as he jumped forward to
help her to her feet and into his arms. "Oh my lovely lady, I missed
you so, so much."

She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him fiercely. "Oh,"
she sighed happily. "I've missed you too."

Holding Jylanya tightly to him, Naton took in a deep breath through
his nose, inhaling her scent deeply. "How are you, sweetling? You and
Veerona both alright?"

"We are," she smiled and hugged him close. She knew he'd had to go
though it would have been easier on her if he'd been able to stay at
the hall, she understood the importance of his travels and the way

"That is so good to hear," Naton said, hugging her tightly still,
until he stepped back to dig up something from his pocket. "I was
going to wait for our next romantic dinner, but I can't help myself,"
he grinned as he offered her a brightly coloured package. "I hope you
like it." Inside was a silver necklace, a beautiful white pearl
wrapped in leaves of silver like a flower. It had taken him quite a
bit of effort to find the right pearl and commisioning a Master Smith
hadn't been cheap, but he really wanted to make up for all his time
away.

She looked at him with a tiny frown of 'what are you up to," and
unwrapped the package carefully. She blinked when she opened it. "Oh
Naton," she breathed. "It's beautiful!" Her finger skimmed over the
tiny silver leaves so beautifully wrought they looked almost real.

"Do you like it?" Naton asked with a big grin on his face. "I found
the pearl myself, I thought it would suit you." He reached over to
take it from her to put it round her neck. "A little something to try
and make up for all my time away."

"I love it," she smiled at him radiantly. "I've never had anything
half as lovely," she said as tears began to mist her vision. She'd
never believed she would either. Jylanya had been content with a life
of service. It was how she'd been raised. First her parents, then an
elderly husband and now the Hall. Naton had brought love into her life
as an incredible surprise. "Thank you," she said and handed it back
turning so he could put it on her.

"Well, it's about time someone appreciates your beauty with something
beautiful," Naton smiled tenderly, brushing a tear from her cheek
before draping the necklace around her and fastening it behind her
neck.

Once it was firmly on her neck she turned in his arms and went on
tiptoe to kiss him. This time her kiss was hungry with passion. She
needed absolutely nothing more than Naton and her little Vee to make
her life complete.

Naton returned the kiss with equal passion, his arms curling around
her body and pressing her closer. Oh, to be able to hold her again.
Finally, he remembered something else. "Where is Veerona?"

Jylanya smiled. "In class," she said breathlessly.

"We have some time to ourselves then," Naton grinned in delight,
swooping her up in his arms, his intention to drag her of to her
quarters quite clear. He'd missed his lady deeply and he intended to
make up for lost time.

Jylanya's eyes widened and she squealed in surprise as he scooped her
up. But then she laughed and threw her arms around his neck.
