Description: Jeyme and D'hol meet again
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 13, day 19 of Turn 6
Jeyme's breath came out in little huffs as she completed her twentieth
consecutive push up. Her goal was fifty, as it had been since she
started Weyrlinghood a month ago. Part of their daily training as
Weyrlings was exercise and strength building and Jeyme took it
seriously. She was not going to be considered "weak" or "soft" the
latter of which wasn't really applicable to her toned body now. After
a month of daily exercise her long, willowy form was showing some lean
muscle and definition.
"Thirty." She whispered to herself as she pushed up from the ground.
She preferred to do her exercises outdoors where she could feel the
breeze and the sun.
Jeyme's mind went back to their lecture they'd received that morning.
It had been on Weyr sexuality and how it differed from the Hold. And
boy did it ever. Even though she was determined to cut loose from all
things that connected her to her holdbred upbringing, she still
cringed a little when she saw male couples together. She was getting
better though and she really harbors no ill feelings towards anyone in
the Weyr.
"Determined aren't you?" D'hol sat on a rock, one arm resting casually
on an upright knee. He'd watched quietly for some time, unobserved.
"Push too hard and you'll strain something."
Jeyme recognized the voice immediately, but did not break from her
push ups, "I am determined." She agreed as she slowly exhaled as she
pushed herself up. Finishing up be last of her fifty set, the
greenrider drew her knees up and rocked back on her heels. She was
quiet for a moment, her eyes regarding D'hol as she caught her breath.
"What brings you out?"
D'hol shrugged. "I had a break and decided to talk a walk." He
drummed his fingers idly on the side of his leg. "You may want
to stretch before you just sit back. It helps prevent cramps."
Jeyme rolled her eyes a bit but stood from her crouched position and
began stretching her arms above her head and twisting her torso, "What
would I do without your wisdom D'hol?"
D'hol's eyes followed her movements, his eyes lingering. "Probably end
up cramped on your bed, not wanting to move."
The Weyrling smirked as she bent and stretched out her long legs,
flicking her short tresses out of her eyes as she did, "Been there and
done that. Those first couple of sevendays were killer. Not to mention
I met with a Wingleader who told me I was a weak Holder girl sissy."
"If the riding boot fits..." D'hol countered.
Jeyme laughed, she never could predict what the bronzerider would say,
"Fair enough. I still have to get in some walking before my exercises
are over. Why don't you join me since you were out for a walk anyway?"
His lips quirked in response to her laughter and then he slowly rose,
brushing himself off. "I suppose I can." He glanced around. "Where is
that little hatchling of yours?"
At the mention of Quinneth a glow lit in the Weyrling's eyes, "She's
playing hide and seek with some flits. I figured I might as well let
her while she's still kind of small enough to 'hide'." Jeyme pointed
out to a knoll of grass.
**Come out.** She called.
>From behind the knoll the dark, jade green dragonet sat up, shaking
her arrow shaped head with a sleepy yawn.
}:Oh, I think the firelizards have gone... I accidentally fell asleep.:{
Jeyme chuckled at her dragon as the green stood and unfurled her wings
to stretch.
D'hol wisely kept his distance; younger hatchlings were notorious for
being overly protective of their riders. Yumath had been doubly so;
he'd nearly mauled a drudge for getting too close shortly after being
hatched. "Greetings, Quinneth." He looked the hatchling over with a
critical eye, then looked at Jeyme, his lip lifting with approval.
"She looks good."
Jeyme smiled at the compliment and Quinneth would have beamed if she
could have, instead her eyes whirled happily.
"Doesn't she though? I think she's going to be one of the larger
greens from the clutch." The dragonet's feet and wingspan foretold
that she had quite a bit of growing to do.
}: This one is smart to compliment me, otherwise I would not let him
stand so close. I like him.:{ Quinneth told Jeyme.
"I think you've earned some points with Quinneth." She told D'hol.
"Greens are like most women...flatter them and you've won points."
D'hol replied dryly, but there was a smile on his face. "Well...lets
walk."
