Proceed to Party

Writers: Chelle, Paula

Characters: Rhosyn, Uetia, Seluda
Description: The three women plan a party.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 12, day 17 of Turn 6
Notes: Mentioned: U'das, U'fouinn, Solieira

Sitting in her weyr, she was waiting on the greenrider, list in hand.
It wasn't often the Weyrwoman got herself involved in riders'
personal business, but this was U'das they were talking about here
and he deserved a grand birthingday.

"Hello, Weyrwoman. You were expecting me?" Uetia walked in after knock
on the door.

"Oh aye Uetia-do come in." Waving her inside to where she had her
little sitting room, Rhosyn remained seated, her legs folded
underneath her. "Did you know it will be U'das' birthingday soon?"

"Aye, that's why I brought her with me," Uetia replied. She was followed
in by another greenrider. She was tall (although not as tall as Uetia),
dark haired beautiful woman in her early thirties. "This is my cousin
Seluda from Far Island. She's U'das' daughter," Uetia introduced her.

"Oh! Pleased to meet you Seluda. Welcome to River Bluff." She had
thought about asking U'fouinn but she supposed perhaps he could help in some
other way. And she wasn't exactly sure about that one yet. Rhosyn smiled and
gestured for them to sit. "Anyway-I think we should have a grand party. Only
fitting for a wingleader and former Weyrleader-especially at his turns."
Not many riders lived that long, especially during a Pass.

Uetia and Seluda both nodded. "My brother U'sel has promised to take care of
drinks. He says party isn't party if the booze runs out. He went to Vintner
hall," Seluda told the other women.

"So, we need to get the harpers for music and the headwoman can handle the
food. That means how do we plan a party without him knowing..or does he know?
And will the entire Weyr be invited?" Rhosyn would leave that up to them since
it was their relative.

"Perhaps not whole Weyr, but his wing certainly and all his friends and relatives," Uetia
said.

"That still makes one sharding big party," Seluda commented.

"Indeed. And if we have it here, the rest of them will find out anyway.
And everyone loves a chance to celebrate. Now, how do you honor a
man like U'das..." That was tricky and Rhosyn really didn't have ideas.

"Just being remembered should be enough for him. He's surprisingly
modest for a bronzerider," Seluda said.

"And have everyone dear to him here. Do you happen to know where U'cred is
posted these days?" Uetia asked. U'cred was U'das' oldest grandson.

"Not offhand, but I can find out." Of course it wouldn't take her long
to send a few messages. "Does he have a particular type of music or
food that he likes?"

The greenriders exchanged glances. "He eats everything," Seluda said after
a thoughtful pause. "He likes lively music and sea ballads," Uetia knew. Living in the
same Weyr did help.

"Ah that's easy enough to manage. So that's my list. What do you think, ladies?
I don't think a surprise will go. The rest of the Weyr will find out." Rhosyn knew
it would make it easier to send invites if they could just send them.

"He's bound to find out if whole Weyr starts to buzz about it," Uetia agreed.

"I think we have a solid plan," Seluda said.

"Fair enough. I'll get with Solieira...Uetia you take the harpers,
Seluda you can do the inviting since it's your folk...and maybe meet again the
day before?" She knew it wouldn't take long to set things up, but it would be
good to get an excuse to set up the Dining Cavern.

Both greenriders nodded in unison.
