N'vanik

N'vanik

After speaking to D'hol and then U'das, Rhosyn had calmed down
somewhat but the sense that it might
be good to just go home and leave it well enough alone wouldn't go
away. Still, if the shoe was on the other
foot, she would want someone to tell her if she had an idiot
underling. So she found N'vanik again, waiting
until there weren't quite so many folks wanting his attention.

He started to smile and then saw her expression. "That's not a happy face."

Trying valiantly not to upset him, Rhosyn thought about how to say it, then
realized honesty was probably best anyway. "Listen, it was a great hatching,
it really was. And the wine and the food were wonderful. I just...uhh...had a
little run-in with your new wingleader, though, and I have to tell you, N'vanik,
he's rude. I'm a rude person myself so for me to say he's worse than me..."
She shook her head. "Disrespectful too."

"What did he say to you?" his voice had an edge.

"Well I asked him where he was from and he wouldn't answer. And then he
basically said it wasn't any of my business because I wasn't Weyrwoman here
before insinuating that I was going to go off and sleep with U'das in the alcove
somewhere." As ludicrous as it sounded, Rhosyn was more hurt for U'das on that
score. That man deserved more respect than she ever did. "I promise I didn't hit
him but I wanted to. Course he's so tall I probably would have got him
in the gut."

"I can think of somewhere else you can punch him," he grumbled.

"Well anyway after all that, I think it would be best if I just head
home and get
some rest. Hate this time change stuff anyway, but I wanted to say goodbye and
congrats first." She offered a soft smile as she kept looking his way.

"Don't let D'hol's stupidity chase you off. But if you need to rest
..." He shrugged. "He's going to get an earful, believe me."

"Where did you get him from? He wouldn't tell me." Rhosyn was still
thinking something
was going on. And the more information she had, the easier it would be
to find out what.

"He's from the North. I don't know why he wanted to hide that from
you." N'vanik wondered if he'd made a mistake.

"I don't know but I get the idea he's hiding something and it's worth
digging into."
Of course Rhosyn was quite tenacious when it came to things like that anyway.
When she got a wrong sense about someone, she usually dug until she found
something. "Can you speak to anyone who knew him up there?"

"Hmm ... his transfer hides were straightforward. But I'll look into
it." Starting with asking D'hol outright why he wouldn't answer a
simple question.

"MMkkkay. Let me know-now I'm curious. Anyway, I really do think I'll go home.
I am a bit tired and it might be making me cranky..." Letting out a small yawn,
she put her hand over her mouth before blinking. "It's your turn to
visit next time."

"I'll come by soon." It had been too long since his last visit. He
pulled her close for a kiss. "Good night."
