Description: Villith Rises
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 9, day 3 of Turn 6
"Ahhh class dismissed," D'lorn told the weyrlings in a hurried manner
as he half ran out of the classroom. He could feel the change in
her-had known it was coming for a few days now. It was about time to
be honest and he?d feel better once it was over. For now, though, he
was ready to ride the lust and see who won. Reaching the mating cots
as she screeched from her weyr ledge, he didn't feel himself go over
to her completely just yet.
Villith had decided it was time for her to fly. Now she had to make
sure everyone else knew that it was time for them to chase her. She
was magnificent, after all. The green paced her ledge, eyes whirling
red and quickly as she darted her neck out. }:If you dare to show your
faces, one of you will have me:{
Sebeth roused from his perch on the Heights and answered the green
with a bugle. }:I will have you.:{
U'das rarely restrained Zack from chasing, unless the green
belonged to some of his relatives. That's how he found himself standing next
to feeding pens, again. Well, it was fun, even if Zack didn't catch.
**Villith! That's the weyrlingmaster's Third's green!** Im're exclaimed
when he saw whose green Gormth had decided to chase this time. Catching
his green, now that would be awkward. His own weyrlingdays weren't _that_ far behind.
The light colored tip of his tail beat against the floor of his ledge
as he gazed out at the green intending to fly. He was tempted, there
was no doubt but seeing his leaders answer, he had to think about it
before finally shifting into position. }:Not if I have you first :{
Dylorth bespoke with a mental nudge to S'ber.
"Seriously?" the young bronzerider asked with exasperation when
he found out who the green belonged to. He remembered working with
D'lorn during weyrling training and how uncomfortable it had been. The man
is just so ... small! S'ber settled Dylorth's spare straps on the table
before lifting his large frame from his specially made chair. He
didn't bother changing from his comfortable old work leathers since
he'd be taking them off at some point. With a sigh, he started out
towards the flight rooms since he wasn't about to run.
D'arvn smiled when Falzeth told him who he was going to chase. He
trotted the steps from his weyr toward the mating cots. Falzeth
watched the glowing green intently with slowly whirling eyes.
Seeing them gather, her eyes went over them all. Gormth and Dylorth
were young. Sebeth and Falzeth had turns going for them and speed.
Zackariath had the size to back up his words. Some of them she had
been with before, some of them she hadn't. Of course, she could pick
one now and pick another some other time-that was the glory of being
a green. Even the ones you had, you didn't remember.
}:I will fly faster than the lot of you combined:{ As if to prove her words,
she shot off the ledge and into the sky, as quick as she could. Villith had
her wings open and was darting out of reach faster than the rest of them
could even launch. She was in her prime and was determined to show these
boys they had to work hard to get her and she was a prize indeed.
Ohhh, he liked a good challenge. Dylorth stood immediately at her
words and when she took off, he wasn't too far behind. Whether he
stayed that way depended on how tricky she started flying.
Making his way to the gathering group, S'ber growled softly to his
bronze. ** If you decide to give up, I wouldn't be upset about
it **
}: Nonsense! I will never give up :{
Zackariath shot after her, bugling a response to her challenge. Of
course she was faster than them, but he was stronger, much stronger
than the blues.
Gormth was bit slow in getting to there. He was still watching out the
wing he had injured. But when he got to the air, he caught up with the
rest easily. He soon got himself middle of the main group of chasers.
Falzeth wasn't far behind the rest and he had the speed to make it to
the front of the pack without much effort. His liked this rider so
that gave him added incentive to catch and hold on to her. He crooned
his desire after the fleet green.
Sebeth streaked after her along with a number of other males. For
a moment he was squeezed in between them, then he used a small burst
of speed to break out of the pack and catch sight of the lovely
female. Her glowing hide spurred him on. He needed to be fast, but not
too fast. His energy had to last.
}:Puny males-none of them are even as glorious as I. There are some
bronzes, though....:{ Villith was not swayed just yet. Her whirling
eyes raked over the blues and browns after the bronzes. Some of them
were muscular and had fine form. Others were better fliers. She had to
determine just what it was that she needed right then. Banking right,
then left, in a snake-like motion, she was all over the sky. Then, she
was climbing into the clouds.
Ahh, this is where the fun begins. When Villith rose into the clouds,
Dylorth made his move, pushing his bulk faster than he had been.
She'd been a vision weaving back and forth but he was careful not to
follow her directly. The glowing green was simply too fast. But now
... now he could shine. }: Many are indeed puny, lovely Villith. I,
however, am not :{ he crooned as he plowed ahead.
Gormth tried stubbornly follow the green's every twist and maneuver.
He did lose sight of her inside the clouds.
Zackariath was far too experienced to follow her to the clouds. She
had to come out, and he was going to be waiting for her.
}:I am strong and fast. I will make you feel very good,:{ Sebeth
crooned as he climbed with her. On the ground, K'mai reached out,
brushing a hand along D'lorn's arm.
Falzeth could almost match her twists and turns so he stayed close on
her tail. She was fast and agile but he was very close to her and
didn't want to lose the advantage. }:Beautiful Villith:{ he warbled.
She kept going-climbing higher and higher, as fast as her body and wings
would allow. And then she knew, she was ready. She had to fall then, to be
caught. But which one? Her eyes raked over the lot of them-behind her. Which
one would serve her?
Zackariath had flown around the cloud and was now rising to meet her
in the heights.
}:Choose me, lovely one. I am the best!:{ Sebeth called. He saw
her hesitate and knew the time was near.
The 4-turn old bronze burst through the clouds and found himself
further west than the glittering green jewel flying away from him. It
didn't phase him as he corrected and pushed himself to get closer, his
strong wings keeping him in the chase. }: My strength is yours ... :{
Dylorth crooned loudly.
Seeing him working so hard to catch her and knowing that he had the strength
of youth besides a large bronze bulk to wrap around her, Villith finally made up
her mind and stopped flying. The green began to fall, calling her suitor to
her. }:Dylorth-prove yourself now:{
Falzeth turned away in a long bank back to the Weyr and D'arven turned
disappointed and went to find his weyrmate.
Zack was so close to her, but seeing she had already made up
her made and it was not him, he turned to fly back home.
Gormth had already given up too, and was already landing to the Weyr.
The triumphant bugle was sounded just before Dylorth reached out for
Villith, scooping her into his arms and higher into the clouds. }:
Thank you :{ he crooned as he twined neck and tail with the green.
Once at an altitude he was comfortable with, he snapped his wings out
for them to glide back to the Weyr.
Without a moment's thought, S'ber pulled D'lorn up into his arms
and somehow made it to the bed without crushing the poor man.
