Tavia

Tavia

Tavia and her lovely green Sawauth were finally beginning to get back
into the swing of a normal routine after the birth of her son. Today
Kaiavin was spending the day with Ranari and Tavia was going to train
with the Queen's wing.

So now in the brilliant sunshine of early morning they were at the
weyrlake for a nice bath. She could feel the simple joy of her
lifemate at their reestablishment of their normal routine. Tavia
hummed a simple tune as she washed.

"Well, if you weren't such a porcine, we wouldn't need to wash you all
over again," Z'hren commented as they reached the edge of the lake.

}: But it tasted SO good ... what is a porcine? :{ the young brown
asked as he plunged into the shallows.

"It's a ... it's ... well, it's an animal that makes a mess is what it is!"

}: Then I would like a porcine. Can I meet one? :{

Z'hren sighed and shook his head before glancing to see the greenrider
beside them. "My duty to you, rider. I'm sorry if we're
interrupting," he said as he set the pail of sweetsand and brush down.
"I'm Z'hren and this is Garreth ... if you'd like us to move, please
say so."

Poking his head into the water but not seeing anything fun to play
with, Garreth lifted his bloody, dripping head and looked at Sawauth.
}: Have you ever met a porcine? :{

Sawauth's eyes whirled for a moment at the young dragon. }:Yes,:{ she
finally said. }:They're quite tasty.:{

Tavia smiled at the weyrling. "Well met Z'hren," she replied. "Don't
worry. They're all that way at this age." }:Was _not_:{ **were too
and you can't remember anyway.**

If a dragon could have a look of horror, it would be on Garreth's face
at that moment. }: You EAT them?! :{ It took a moment for him to get
over the shock then thought about how it would taste. }: Can I have
some, Mine? :{

Z'hren grinned at the brown's response. "Perhaps. Come here, goof,
and let's get you cleaned up so we can get to class. You've already
gotten me in trouble once this morning."

As Garreth turned back to his lifemate, he couldn't help but ask
Sawauth, }: Where are they? Can Mine catch one so I can eat it, too?
:{

"So they'll grow out of the messiness? I certainly hope so.
Otherwise, he'll eat first then bath after every time," he said as he
began to scrub the blood of Garreth's muzzle.

"Yes they do somewhat, but the good thing is they don't eat as
frequently so it's about time for their bath anyway."

Garreth squirmed as his muzzle was scrubbed, trying to keep eye
contact with the green. }: Have you eaten this morning? Could you get
me a ... porcine? :{

"Stop asking, Garreth, you just ate!" Z'hren said then grunted in
surprise as Garreth pushed at his chest, sending him onto his rear in
the shallows. All he could do was stare up at his brown as he
shimmied his way back into the water.

}:I'm not hungry:{ she replied simply.

Tavia laughed at the little brown's antics. "Don't let him get away
with that. It will be worse when he gets bigger."

Z'hren was actually livid once the surprise wore off but it wasn't so
noticeable on his face. He stared at Garreth as the brown sat with
just his face out of the water. Nodding at Tavia, he stood as set his
hands on his slim hips. "Garreth, come here ... now," he said firmly,
like his step-father used to do when he and his sister got in trouble.

The young brown looked between His and the green, finally deciding
that he'd better listen. Slowly, he made his way out of the water and
crooned to his lifemate. }: Did I hurt you? :{

"No, youngling, but you were disrespectful and before an older rider.
It is not time for play and you know it. Now let's get out and dry
you before I miss the class completely."

Garreth nodded and ambled out, turning to Sawauth to say, }: I am
sorry that I cannot stay to keep you company. Mine is needed in class.
:{

}:Listen to your rider young one. He knows things that you do not.:{

"See you later," Tavia smiled. It was bound to happen. Even though the
Weyr was huge and spread out through the whole ancient caldera, there
were only so many places the population gathered.

Scuffing the sand with his front claws, Garreth nodded }: Yes, Sawauth
:{ he bespoke before his youthful exuberance reasserted itself and he
bounded away to chase a flitterby.

Z'hren simply shook his head as he gathered his things. "Have a
lovely day, m'lady," he waved as he followed after his brown.
