Briata

"So who was that man you were with yesterday evening?" Shriana plopped
into a seat beside Briata where she was working on her embroidery.
Class was over and now the weavers had a chance to work on their
assignments.

The young woman let her gaze dart upward, allowing a brief rest upon
Shriana before returning to the colours that she stitched. "A friend
of Y'gel's." One of a running number of men that he had been
introducing her to as of late. The more he did it, the more and more
obvious it was _why_ - and Briata didn't like it.

"Oh, he was quite the looker!" Briata had to agree with Shriana.
Tr'mer was handsome, but Briata just wasn't interested.

"He was very nice." Briata stated after a moment. "You should
introduce yourself."

"I don't know." Shri shook her head and began to resume the weaving
she had started, working the threads together. "He seemed quite
interested in you."

**He was only interested in one thing.** But Briata didn't voice those
thoughts. A tight smile managed to tug at her lips. "No, he was just
being polite. If you are interested, you should make your interest
known." She had certainly made her _dis_interest known. Maybe she
should talk to Y'gel, try to get him to understand she didn't want all
this attention.

"You sure?" Shri gave the apprentice a sidelong glance. "Don't you
have the slightest bit of interest?"

Was Shriana in on it too? "No, not really." Briata didn't like where
the conversation was going. She made one more stitch in her work and
stood. "I should get going." She stated with an apologetic tone to
her voice. "I will see you later."

"Sure." Shriana nodded and watched as the dark haired young woman
gathered her things then made her way out. She allowed a short shake
of her head then turned back to her own work.
