Description: The bluerider is called to the Wingleader's office
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 3, day 3 of Turn 6
D'arvin had been expecting the summons for some time now. He was just
a little surprised that it had taken this long for him to receive the
call. He trotted up the stairs to U'das office and paused for a moment
before knocking.
"Enter!" U'das called and looked over D'arvn's records. He waited
until the bluerider was properly in before greeting: "Hi, I hope
you're been well? And Falzeth?"
"Afternoon sir," he said as he took his seat. "I am doing very well
and Falzeth is great," he never tired of talking about his striking
blue lifemate. He felt they were doing their part in the section of
the wing. He was normally joining the formation half way through fall
and then flying some sweeps afterwords.
"Good to hear. Take a seat," U'das replied and gestured towards a chair.
He nodded and sat where indicated. He didn't want to open up the
subject that his mate's father probably had called him here for. He'd
let the Wingleader ask the questions.
U'das started by going through D'arvhn's wing performance. He had to
review it sooner or later, so why not now. There really wasn't any
fault in the bluerider's performance and the wingleader made sure he
said that.
After the official part was concluded, he leaned backwards and asked:
"So, how are you and U'foiunn doing? All well?"
He felt U'das had been more than fair in is assessment and took his
suggestions to heard. D'arvn wasn't serious about most things but he
was _very_ serious about Thread. He was also very serious about
U'fouinn. "We're doing very well sir." He gave the wingleader a small
smile.
"Glad to hear that. How serious are you with him?" U'das asked. He may
be enstranged father but he was a father and protective.
His brows pulled together for a moment before he replied. "Very
serious sir, he's..." D'arvn didn't quite know how to describe the
sweetness of his weyrmate to his father. "He's very important to me
sir. I would never want to hurt him."
"You better not. I don't want him to be hurt," U'das scowled at the bluerider.
D'arvn was immediately apologetic. "No sir, that's not what I meant. I
would never hurt him. I promise you that."
"You better keep that promise," U'das said.
"Yes sir," he said. Honestly it rather surprised him the U'fouinn's
father was this intense about it. He'd gotten the impression that they
weren't the least bit close. Perhaps the old man felt more affection
than his young mate thought.
"I just want him to be happy," U'das said, feeling rather sad that he
wasn't closer with him.
At that D'arvn just smiled. "So do I. I mean, how could I not. He
really is the sweetest... his voice trailed off but the smile
remained. U'fouinn constantly did little things to make his life
easier and full of love. How could he even think of hurting him in any
way. "I'll see what I can do, maybe we can have you come to our weyr
for dinner? Would you like to do that some time??
"I would love to," U'das replied. "Perhaps you should invite Uetia
too?" his back ground thought was that she was much better breaking
ice than he was. Besides she liked U'fouinn.
"Oh that's brilliant!" His hands clapped together. It really was an
even better idea as it would ease U'fouinn's contact with his father
if his sister was there too. "Would you like to bring some wine? White
is U'fo's favorite."
"I will," U'das promised.
D'arvn smiled and the Wingleader. "Is tomorrow evening good? I'll talk
go find Uetia and make sure she's coming too if that's all."
"Yes, that's fine," U'das nodded.
"Great," he said preparing to stand and hoping to be dismissed. He was
scheduled for a courier run to Dreams End with another leg to
Dragonsfall. It would be a late night for him and he wanted to get on
his way.
