Description: Y'gel brings his Weyrwoman home.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 2, day 18 of Turn 6
Notes: Mentioned: R'enh, N'vanik, K'sedel
The night was crawling to a close and she had no wish to stay the
night at Dolphin Cove. She had danced until her feet hurt and now
her dress was ruined. Rhosyn just wanted her bed. The River Bluff
contingent said goodbye to the Weyrleaders and then walked out
into the Bowl, hoping that Aughashyth would rescue her from the
hot, sweltering place, before she ran into the ocean out of necessity,
ruining her dress further by throwing it onto the ground.
Aughashyth floated down from the heights after a very satisfying time
with the local contingent and other visiting dragons. Y'gel had quite
the satisfying conversation with the other Dolphin Cove healers. He
saw Aug right where he'd asked to meet him. He held Rhosyn's jacket.
Even though it was hot now they would soon go /between/ and she would
need it. He offered his hand and a smile, to help her up into her seat.
"A nice party don't you think?"
"Aye I had myself a good evening. Saw old friends." She thought of R'enh
- Hide quoted text -
and smiled, then of N'vanik. Once she had gotten herself ready, she climbed
up there, not caring about her hair and everything else at that point. "The
food was good. Everything was fine until that last bit. And you, Y'gel?"
He'd walked around Aug to give the straps the usual check before
climbing his side and settling himself in front of her. He double
checked her straps and his before giving the bronze the go ahead for
launch.
A few steps and a surging leap later they were airborne and spiraling
out of the Dolphin Cove Weyrbowl and out over the sea. "I had a good
time." He smiled over his shoulder. She was so small behind him she
could probably not even feel the wind in her face. They banked and
glided fairly low over Dolphin Hall. He chuckled as dolphins
sqeeeeee'd at them and leaped out of the water to race after them
diving in and out of the waves. "Ha ha... look at that," he grinned.
"Are you ready?"
"Mmmm...I want to go home." River Bluff had become home. Like it or not,
they were stuck with her, shameless and all. Tongues were probably already
wagging about her dress and she had half a mind to go show it to K'sedel
to see what he thought about the whole thing. Smiling, she thought of Orlaith
curled up on her couch and when next they might have eggs of their own again.
**Alright, Aug, Let's do it.** The picture formed in his mind. }:We bring
yours home:{ the bronze called to his queen and they winked /between/.
They popped back in above the Star Stones and banked in a great arc
directly toward Rhosyn's weyr. Soon they touched down lightly on the
lip. Aughashyth crooned a greeting to Orlaith.
Her big head wasn't hard to see as she looked out to see hers astride the
bronze. Rhosyn was safe and whole, though a bit of a mess. Satisfied, she
waited for her rider to come tend to her needs. }:Thank you for seeing my
Rhosyn safe. You please your queen, Augashyth:{
Rhosyn took her time negotiating the way down. It wouldn't do to dance the
night away and then fall and break her leg on her own weyr ledge. When she
was down, she swayed slightly and grabbed the bronze's hide to steady herself.
"Y'gel, I think I'm going to need some help with all this mess." She
wasn't drunk,
but she was tired and tipsy and didn't trust herself. This was one of
those times
she wished she had a female somewhere she could order around.
He felt the flush of pleasure that flooded his lifemate **What?** he asked.
}:I pleased Orlaith:{ Y'gel chuckled at Aug and reached out to give his hand to
Rhosyn. "Sure," he said. "Whatever you need."
She took it and allowed him to lead her inside. Once she was in her bedchamber,
she managed to remove the jacket, but the dress was hopeless. It had taken two
women to get it on. "Help, please."
"Of course," he said and moved immediately behind her to unfasten the
back of the dress. "It's a shame really. The dress was beautiful." He
finished and dropped a kiss onto the top of her head. "There you go," he
said and stepped back.
"Thanks." She slipped out of it and let it drop to the floor, leaving her in her
underthings. They had wine on them as well, but the launders could get that
out. Frowning, she searched in the drawer for new ones which she'd change
into after her bath. "I think I have it from here. No doubt K'sedel will want a
full report in the morning."
Y'gel inwardly sighed for his younger days when it might not have been
quite so easy to turn him away. "I'm sure he will," he said. "Goodnight then
Rhosyn. It's been an honor escorting you." He had a nice bottle of whiskey
calling his name. It would have to be enough warmth for his bed.
"I appreciate you taking me. It was good to have someone there to pull me away."
Perhaps the Weyrwoman tried to surround herself with more sensible people on
purpose.
"You're welcome," he smiled gently and turned to go. Aughashyth waited
for him on the ledge and he climbed aboard before they glided across
the bowl to their own weyr. "Big day," he said with a sigh and went to
find that bottle of whiskey.
