Description: E'naer's Eillispeth Rises
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 13, day 27 of Turn 5
Eillispeth had spread her wings and she was basking in the attention of
males. Her hide shone brightly, eyes glowing the purple of mating lust.
"Show off," E'naer chuckled. The look in his eyes matched hers. After 29
turns as a rider the Mating flights hadn't lost their charm.
"She's a beauty," Sh'lua said admiringly.
"Yes, and knows it," the greenrider replied.
"You don't look bad yourself," the bluerider flirted.
E'naer rolled his eyes. "Trying to improve Galerith's chances?"
"Well, of course!"
E'naer just shook his head at his outrageousness and pulled away from
the bluerider. He had no preferences when it came to who caught Eillie,
although blueriders were more fun afterwards.
}:Eillispeth is about to Rise:{ Manarth told his lifemate, as he stood
up and flapped his wings in anticipation of the event.
**You want to chase?** G'waren was bemused by the big blue's actions
lately. Since losing Fanth's flight he had done more than his fair
share of chasing greens. The man put it down to frustration over his
Thread injury, but even so, it was getting a bit much. Sighing, he made a
mental note of where T'bel was, certain it wasn't going to be him waking up
next to handsome E'naer in a few candlemarks.
Shoglenth knew, Eillispeth was a favorite of his and he'd try hard.
Besides, the blue knew that his rider had a liking for Eillispeth's.
}:I will chase,:{ he informed D'nev. }:Eillispeth, I am here, you know I
will make you happy if I can fly and catch you.:{
}:All these blues think she will be theirs:{ Jodeth snorted.
}:Eillispeth rises and I will chase her:{ he told his rider as he
began that turns old ritual of readying himself. Stretching his wing muscles
and breathing deeply, the brown came to the edge of his ledge, watching
and waiting for her to fly.
}:No one could be more worthy of your beauty than I,:{ bronze Banatoth
declared as he took to the skies. H'lan, eager to join in the Flight
found himself standing in the circle of other riders. Banatoth was
young, but he was strong. His eyes were already watching the gleaming green
hide that flew before him.
Torerath's lust communicated itself to D'ale. **Who** he asked simply.
}:Eillispeth:{ came the reply that colored his thinking with the
brown's desire. He chuckled **Good Luck** }:I do not need luck, I will
catch her.:{ D'ale smiled as he walked into the room and nodded to the
riders assembled.
}: Words are easy, you have to prove yourself to me! :{ she taunted them
and jumped into the air, wings beating fast.
T'mahl had known E'naer for a long time and while he had been through a
lot with the Weyrlingmaster Third, one thing he had never intended to
share was the greenrider's bed. However, as his bronze Uluruth took
flight after the pretty green, he felt the urge to take the man in his
arms just as every other man in the circle.
Torerath leaped after her flirting tail as she sped ahead of them all
and D'ale moved into the ring of riders that encircled E'naer. The big
brown dragon bellowed his desire after her as they climbed the sky
above the Weyr.
Banatoth quickly leapt into the air, ready to give chase to the
beautiful green.
H'lan took a moment to register who all was standing in the circle of
riders. He realized then that it was E'naer's flight. Not something he
would have chosen for himself, but he could not deny his Banatoth whatever
his heart desired.
P'nal didn't give two wherries who the greenrider was at that moment.
All that mattered was the goal. Jodeth had his eye on the prize and the
brown was focused. When she took off, there he was after her. He might
not have been as fast as the blues, but he had the power to make up for it
as he finally overtook them with his bigger wingbeats. }:Ellispeth, I come
for you:{ It wasn't a threat, just a promise.
}: You have to catch me first! :{ Eillispeth taunted them. She headed
west, finding a strong wind to lift her up high. She was soon well
ahead of the males.
Galerith pumped his wings. His large size for blue gave him strength but
took away the advantage of speed. He found himself among the bronzes and
browns while smaller blues surged ahead.
Already Manarth could feel his left wing hurting, as it was only
recently recovered from a Threadscore. He fell behind Galerith, but
still tried, not wanting to give up just yet.
Her speed was marvelous to behold but Torerath bided his time soaring
and surging alongside the bronzes. They would last longer than he but
she would be done long before that advantage came into play. He was
focused and determined and crooned his praise of her agility and beauty
in the air. His wings found the same thermal that lifted him higher as
she rose ahead of them.
Shoglenth was there, biding his time. These others might not know the
tricks the green used when winnowing out her choice of mate. The blue
called out to the green, }:You know I can please you more than them.:{
Eillispeth spiraled higher and darted around the clouds. She was
experienced and not that easy to catch.
His brown hide shone with the recent oiling it had received. Jodeth was
handsome, no two marks about it. He was also steadfast. A green couldn't
do much better than such a brown. His great wings kept pace and he found
his place in the pack, pulling forward as some of the blues began to
strain. It was effortless and he kept his whirling purple eyes on her.
Banatoth fought his way through the pack, pushing forward with the
strong downstrokes of his wings. He could easily outlast so many of the
others, but he would never be able to keep up with the nimble tricks that
the smaller blues and even some of the browns could do to follow the fast
green. Still he fought hard to keep her within his sights as she darted
through the skies.
Uluruth would not allow himself to fall behind. After all, he had
caught the senior gold before! Though that was no guarantee he would
catch a green, it boosted his confidence and desire to prove himself
once more.
}: You're too slow,:{ Eillispeth smirked and suddenly turned
backwards, barrel rolling beneath her chasers, so that her wingtips
almost brushed the belly of the lowest bronze. It was a risky move.
Torerath saw the green turn back and as she came near the bronze he
darted sideways and flipped to try and grab her from underneath.
Seeing her move, Manarth folded his wings and dropped down beside
the green. }:Choose me!:{
But Eillispeth wasn't ready to choose yet and darted away from him.
Jodeth laughed at the two idiots in his head. Never force a lady before
her time came. He cheered the green for her performance with a loud bugle
even as he followed behind, his momentum still there thanks to not trying
any tricks with her.
}: Choose me! :{ Galerith called. }: Those browns are bumbling idiots! :{
}: And you're too full of yourself :{ Eillispeth retored back. She had
already made her choice but not willing to reveal it yet. She had been
impressed by Torerath. Such a handsome, strong brown. She deliberately
picked a route who would take her right into the brown's claws.
Torerath had thought he'd lost his shot when she darted away and he
twisted to follow but felt he'd lost what little advantage he'd
gained. Still he didn't give up as he strove to follow where she'd
gone then she swept back toward him again. He roared his triumph as
she came into his reach and enfolded the beautiful prize as they spun
through the sky. D'ale stepped forward his action mimicking the big
browns. His mind fully joined with Torerath's ecstacy he enfolded the
green's rider and stumbled toward the waiting bed.
Realizing they had not won, Banatoth roared his upset and H'lan turned
to find a pair of willing and waiting arms.
Galerith trumpeted his disappointment and turned to circle back home.
Sh'lua didn't take long to find himself a good company to burn the
flight lust with.
