Description: Rhosyn and K'sedel wake up after the flight.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 11, day 4 of Turn 5
Notes: Follows: A Rising Star
The first thing she felt was soreness. Her body felt like it had no bones,
just one big pile of mush. Moaning, she opened her eyes to darkness. The
glows hadn't been turned and she couldn't see a thing. Grunting, she managed
to sit up, automatically reaching for her lifemate in her head.
}:I am spent, but I was glorious:{
**Of course you were**
And then it dawned on Rhosyn what that meant. She was Weyrwoman
now, once and for all. Feeling that sense of dread and satisfaction all at
once, she sighed and started to feel everything to make sure it still
worked, still not knowing who was there in the furs with her. Done with her
inspection, she decided to find out. Groping around in the dark, she came in contact with hairy limbs.
The touch was enough to disturb K'sedel, although he was in that half awake, half asleep phase where it could go either way. Not Radela, trying to wake him or Ciara, so...
}:We did it,:{ there was a smugness to the tone of the bronze.
That explained things thought K'sedel. He was confirmed as Weyrleader again.
"Rhosyn?" he said gently.
"Well who else would it be eh? Oh right.." Having confirmed the identity of
the hairy limbs, she rubbed her face and yawned, thinking about how
dangerous it might be to locate a glowbasket. "So congratulations and all
that-again. And it seems we're in the dark."
"There should be some glows on the shelf above. Do you want me to turn one?"
"Please. I'd like to see where exactly I'm bleeding from." She felt something wet and wondered about it. It probably meant a very good scratch. The idea didn't bother Rhosyn in the least.
"You're bleeding?" There was concern in the Weyrleader's voice as he found
one of the glows and made sure that there was enough light to see each
other.
"Pretty sure that's what it is, but it isn't like it hasn't happened
before." She frowned as she looked down at herself and found the source of the problem-her ear.
"I'm sorry for that, the flight was intense." Sometimes flights were like
that, particularly when gold dragons were involved. Winners could lose
themselves completely in their dragons, and that would translate to their
riders.
"I know..it's okay, it wasn't you. Will just have to get the healers to have a look-see. Might be a few stitches. All in the service of the Weyr eh?" Rolling around in the furs, she suddenly felt her stomach rumble. "Do you think they'd care if I walked into the dining cavern all bloody?" It was a superficial wound, but the ear cartilage meant quite a bit of red.
"I think people might just notice that." K'sedel thought for a moment. "I
can have a healer come here if that would be easier."
"If they don't mind, I can be patient. Or I can locate my clothing and meet
them in my weyr. I'm sure there's a scrap I can push against it for the time being.." Rhosyn wanted a bath desperately.
"I might have a handkerchief, if that's alright?" offered K'sedel.
"That'll work," she exclaimed, before getting up to hunt her clothing in the limited light the glows offered.
K'sedel hunted for his shirt, finding the handkerchief in the breast pocket. He pulled it out before tugging the clothing over his head. "Here you go," he offered the cloth to Rhosyn as he located his undershorts.
She took it wrapped it around her head like a bandana, covering the
offending ear. After dressing, she yawned and started to walk out of the room, in search of her quarters, grabbing a glowbasket to lead her way. "I'll see you tomorrow then?" It was official. She was Weyrwoman of River Bluff and he was her Weyrleader.
"Tomorrow," repeated K'sedel. "We'll have work to do."
"Of course. Didn't rough you up too bad, did I?" She was at the doorway,
looking back.
"I'll live."
