"So where are we going then?" Sabonus had finally broken down and took
a wherhide jacket of his own from the stores, but shards it could get
hot in the River Bluff sun!

"To harper Hall. If anyone knows where my brother was assigned, it's
someone there, "Uetia replied, pulling gloves on.

"I'm almost looking forward to /between/. It might cool me down after
baking in this jacket," he said, pulling the collar out so he could get
a little air down there.

"I know what you mean. And It won't be much cooler in Dolphin Cove
either," Uetia chuckled.

"Well," he said, wrapping his hands around her hips and pulling her
close into his body. "We'll just have take a dip after we look for your
brother, eh?" Sabonus quickly rethought the gesture. The chance to be
close to her, while appealing, just didn't outweigh the added body heat.
"Can we go now?"

"Yes, we can," Uetia replied and gave Sirjath the visualization.

"Excellent." Sabonus still instinctively reached for her as they
disappeared into that cold, black nothingness. Despite his desire to
escape the heat, he almost instantly wished they might be back in that
bright sunlight! **Man was not made for such a place...** he thought
just as they winked back into a bright blue sky.

Uetia overheard Sirjath report their presence to the Weyr's watch dragon
when the started to circle down. She was far more interested seeing the
landscape. It was familiar to her but not from this vantage point.
"See," she nudged Sabonus, "there's the Dolphin Hall!" She pointed with
her arm.

"You can even see the shipfish swimming around," Sabonus said also
pointing. "I've never seen them from this vantage point. There's so
many of them!"

"The local pod is large one, probably because all the dolphineers here
looking after them," Uetia replied and Sirjath started to back-wing to
land.

"Have you swam with shipfish before?" he asked as he braced himself for
the landing.

"Helloo, I'm dolphineer, remember?" she said. Sirjath's landing was bit
bumby.

}: Sorry about it, sudden sidewind. Those cliffs makes the wind whirl
around oddly, :{ the green said and Uetia relayed the apology for
Sabonus.

"Sorry, I meant _these_ shipfish." The ground coming fast upon them had
obviously shaken him a bit more than he had liked.

"Yes, while I was apprentice. Althoug mostly I dealt with the Topaz
Sea's pod," Uetia replied and opened the straps.

Sabonus slipped down with only a slight lurch forward. He was getting
better about getting on and off her green. The jacket was gratefully
shed. "Do you know the pod around River Bluff at all?"

"Some," Uetia replied. "Now, who in the Hall would know where the
journeyman are posted? Hallsecond? Hallmaster?" Uetia wondered.

"Let's just see who we find first," he said, twinning his fingers in
hers.

Uetia just nodded and located the entrance to the Harper hall. She was
not familiar with it. Dolphineer had rarely anything to do with Harpers.
And if there had been concert or someting similar, they had been held in the
Weyr's dining cavern.

Sabonus had never visited a true Hall before. Though this one looked
suspiciously like a Weyr. They could get lost in the caverns if they
just wandered aimlessly. A man in a harper blue tunic, whistling a tune
and shuffling papers in his hands turned down the corridor in front of
them. "We'd better ask someone," he said to the greenrider before
calling down the hall, "You there! Harper! A little direction,
please."

Almonteo turned, rather surprised at the casual summons and looked at
the couple standing in his Hall hand in hand. "Of course. How can I
direct you? Four-four time? Three-four time?"

Uetia have no idea what he was talking about, and looked puzzled.

"I'm sorry, a harper joke," the Hallmaster said with an embarrassed
smile. "You, "direction"..." He lifted a hand and moved it as if he
were directing a ensemble.

Sabonus looked at the greenrider, wondering if she understood what he
meant.

"Forget it," Almonteo finally said with a wave. Obviously not harper
trained. "How may I be of service to you?"

"I'm Uetia, rider of green Sirjath from River Bluff Weyr, and I'm
looking for my brother, who's a journeyman harper," Uetia introduced
herself.

"Well, I know a few," the Hallmaster nodded. "What is his name?"

"Ueltin. He should be easy to remember. He's big, very tall and
muscular," Uetia replied and smiled.

"Hmmm." The name didn't sound familiar. "Did he come with us from the
old Hall?"

"Yes, but he got posted out very soon after that," Uetia really didn't
expect the first passer-by to know anything.

"And you don't know where that might be?" Almonteo wondered if the man
actually wanted her to know where he was.

"I am afraid not. And we are very bad letter writes in my family," Uetia
sighed.

"I see." Almonteo tapped his chin thoughtfully with one of his long
fingers. He didn't want to get into the middle of family troubles. If
the man didn't want to stay connected with his family, that was his own
business. Still, by her knots he could tell she had come a long way in
search of him, and that had to count for something. "I'll tell you
what. I can find your brother and send him a letter with the next batch
to go out with the runners. I will tell him that he has a sister
looking to reconnect with him. I will tell him where he can contact you
and any other message you would like to give. From there it would be
his business to improve his letter writing skills or not. How does that
suit you?"

"Sounds reasonable," Uetia replied. It's not that it was urgent and she
did have vague impression that some harper assignmets were "sensitive".

"Follow me then, if you would. My office is right this way." Almonteo
turned back the way he had come.

"Looks promising," Sabonus smiled, wrapping his arm around her waist and
giving her a squeeze. He knew how important this was to her.

"Yes, it does," Uetia smiled.

"Here we are." The Hallmaster fished around in his pocket to the key to
his office door.

Uetia realized it was the hallmaster's office. Well, he had not
introduced himself, like she had, so he just had to do with the common
courtesy.

Sabonus also realized their mistake. "Perhaps I shouldn't have called
him 'harper'," he whispered, though of course the man hadn't been
wearing any knots either. Probably didn't much need to in his own Hall.

"Right this way, young lady," Almonteo smiled, holding the door open for
her. "And gentleman too, of course. We'll find your brother soon
enough."

"Thank you, sir," Uetia replied.
