Description: Sabonus makes Uetia feel better

Date: month 8, day 10 of Turn 5

Sabonus had heard from a friend that Uetia had come down with a cold.
That certainly could explain why he hadn't seen her for a few days. He
had been a little worried that maybe it had been that kiss they had
shared rolling around in the snow. It was just one kiss, but it
certainly had been enough to warm him down to his toes. And of course,
it brought that flush to her face that he enjoyed seeing, and hoped to
see more of.

As soon as he heard that she was sick, he went to the kitchens his first
free moment to ask them for some hot water for his own special cold
remedy. It would be a good excuse to see her. There was something he
wanted to ask her, and he figured the sooner they got it settled, the
better!

Carefully balancing the pot of tea and a mug in one hand, he knocked on
her door with the other.

"What?!" Uetia asked, the illness making her cranky. She was wrapped
in blanket and going crazy. She was feeling too miserable to do and her
nose run too much so she couldn't even read.

Sabonus cracked open the door. "I brought you some tea to help you feel
better."

"Oh, it's you," she managed a weak smile. "I warn you, I bite," she said
and sneezed.

"I'll warn you, I bite back." He lifted the tea pot. "I brought you
some tea. My own cold remedy."

"I've already filled up to my ears with the tea that healers prescribed
to me," Uetia replied.

"But mine's _better_ than anything the healers would give you," Sabonus
assured her as he handed her the mug.

"Fine, I'm willing to try everything to get rid of this cold," Uetia
said and took the mug. "What is it?" she asked, inhaling the aromatic
steam.

"Regular tea, hyssop, yellow citrus..." He poured as he listed off the
ingredients. "Most things that I suppose the healers are giving you.
Except..." Here Sabonus pulled out a flask from his pocket and began
pouring. "This is the main ingredient. It's a liquor a vintner in Jade
Harbor Hold makes out of natural herbs. It's stronger than rum and is
guaranteed to give you a good night's sleep so you'll wake up feeling
better in the morning."

"Feeling better or feeling hangover?" she asked.

"You only drink one cup. And if that's enough to give you a hangover,
you're no seaman's daughter." He nodded towards the cup, indicating
that she should give it a try.

Uetia just nodded and sipped the hot drink carefully.

"I feel a little bad, you know, for you getting sick." He hitched his
hip up on the arm of her sofa. "After all, it was my idea to get you
out into the snow."

"Yeah, it's all your fault, "Uetia said but she didn't mean it and gave
him playful punch.

"I know, I know," he raised his hands submissively. "I'm a terrible
person. But I want to make it up to you."

"And how do you plan to do that?" she asked. She had finished her drink
and handed him the empty mug back.

He took it in one and caught her fingers with the other. "When you're
better, how about you and I have dinner together? Just us."

"Dinner? just...us?" her face was starting to feel flushed and her mouth
was dry.

"Just us," he repeated, his fingers interlacing with hers a bit more
naturally.

"If you want to. Of course I'll have dinner with you," she was feeling
flustered.

"Well, I really want to, so I guess that settles it." He leaned down to
kiss her cheek softly and turned his head to whisper in her ear, "Let me
know when you feel better, all right?"

"All right," she agreed.

He stood, settling the flask down on the table next to the tea pot.
"I'll leave this for you. Feel better."

"Thank's" Uetia said. She was already feeling a bit better. Her nose
still run like river and thoat ached, but her mood much more cheerier.
