"Look at this. I can see my breath." Sabonus breathed out a long white
puff of steam from his lungs. Had seen that phenomenon before, but only
a handful of times.

"You should get out more," Uetia grinned and removed the straps from
Sirjath. The green moved few dragonlenghts away from them and then
rolled on her back in snow. "Look at that silly thing," Uetia laughed.

"I don't know, it looks like a good idea," the carpenter grinned as he
spread his arms wide and fell back into the soft snow. "Hey! It's cold
down here!"

"What did you expect? Tropical waters?" Uetia asked. She scooped up snow
and tried to make it into a ball. The snow was too cold and too dry to
stay
in ball, so she just dumbed the handfull to his face.

Sabonus actually shrieked as the cold flew in his face and straight down
his wheyrhide jacket. "Faranth's toes!" He tried to stand up, but he
was not used to the soft snow and could only manage to get to his knees.
"That's flaming freezing!"

"It's called snow," Uetia laughed and expecting revenge, started
running.

He tried to retaliate, but as he got to his feet he found it rather
difficult to run after her. His feet kept sinking into it! Sabonus
wasn't accustomed to it at all. "It's worse than sand!" he panted as he
tried to reach out and catch her, but she evaded his grasp.

"It is," Uetia agreed and suddenly fall into a snow covered hole or
something. She got stuck, waist deep in snow. "Crackdust," she cursed.

Sabonus easily caught up to her now, standing over her with his hands on
his hips. "Hmmmm... What have we here growing out of the ground? A
tree perhaps?"

"Hah!" Uetia snorted and tried to pull herself up. Her hands just sank
into the snow and she didn't get the leverage to pull herself out. "Ah,
could you give me a hand up, please?" she asked with more humble tone.

"I don't know," he said thoughtfully as he squatted down more to her
level. "You threw snow in my face. And I'm not sure it wasn't on
purpose..."

"Of course it was on purpose, don't you have siblings?" Uetia said with
all the dignity she could muster in her current predicament.

"Oh, I get it," he said, scratching his chin thoughtfully. "You think
of me as a sibling then?"

Uetia just growled and tried to squarm up. Only thing she did was to get
snow inside her waistline.

Sabonus tried not to laugh at her fruitless attempts to free herself.
"So, if I get you out of there, what will you give me?"

Uetia pondered the options. If she promised another snow wash, she would
have to ask Sirjath to come and pull her up. "How about kiss?" she
suggested.

"I don't know," he said doubtfully. "Not if you think of me like a
sibling..."

"I don't think you as a sibling," **far from it,** Uetia replied and her
head sank against her arms. "I'm going to freeze to death here," she
said with her most pitiful voice. It was good thing Sabonus couldn't see
her eyes. They would have told him too much. She wasn't ready to reveal
what
she felt for him.

"Good. I don't have a sister, but if I did, I think kissing her would
not feel right." Leaning in very close, Sabonus looped his arms under
hers. "Put your arms around my neck."

She did as she was told to.

He carefully lifted her, using the strength of his legs more than his
back. Just as her feet had cleared the hole he took a step back, and
another so he could set her down on solid ground. His legs, though
steady on a rolling deck, were still not accustomed to the snow. He
lost his balance, falling straight back into the snow, bringing her down
right on top of him. "Well, that was supposed to be smoother," Sabonus
said with a soft chuckle.

"Oh, I don't know, I rather like it here," Uetia said with a smirk.
Before she could stop it, her head sank lower and their lips met.
