Description: One of N'vanik's old 'friends' stops by for a visit.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 10, day 13 of Turn 4
N'vanik glanced over as Talryne picked up her knitting. "Another sweater?"
"Someone asked me to make one." She looked up and met his eyes. "Don't give me that look. This sweater is going to be the right size. And it's not for me."
His smile widened.
"And it's not even blue!" She tried to hold back a smile and only partly succeeded. She set the knitting aside as N'vanik slid across the couch to kiss her. "I still don't understand why you like that sweater so much."
"Because you do such interesting things while wearing it." He kissed her again and slid his hand into her hair.
"I do plenty of interesting things while _not_ wearing it." She tugged at the fastenings of his tunic.
"True. Very true."
}:Serelith's is here.:{ N'vanik pulled back. "What?"
"What?" Talryne echoed him, confused.
"Loseth just said someone is here. Someone I knew from Vista Point."
But why would she be here? He hadn't seen her in over a Turn.
"N'vanik!" A voice called out as a hand knocked upon the door. "Hey N'vanik!"
He gave an apologetic look to Talryne and got up to answer the door.
"Ana? What are you doing here?"
"I came to visit you, silly." Feriana drew close, body pressing against N'vanik's and she reached up to tweak his nose. "Just thought I'd pass by, see what you were up to."
"It's been a while." Having her that close made him remember how good she could feel. N'vanik cleared his throat and took a step back. "Ana, this is Tal. Tal, this is Ana -- Feriana." He looked back at Talryne.
She had that slightly panicked look she sometimes still got around strangers.
Feriana's gaze slid over to rest upon Talrayne and she smiled, a sickly sweet expression. "Well met, Tal. My my, I didn't realise Nik had some company."
Talryne's expression shifted to uncomfortable and she got up. "I--I can leave, if you want."
"You don't have to," N'vanik said firmly.
"My, what a pretty little thing." Feriana's eyes twinkled with amusement as she crossed over to the other woman, holding her hand out in greeting.
"I'm Feriana."
Talryne hesitated, her stomach knotting. She finally took the woman's hand. "Talryne. Nice to meet you." She took a breath and steadied a little. "I should go. You should catch up with your friend," she said to N'vanik.
"You can stay if you want," he said. He felt torn. He wanted to spend time with Feriana. It had been a long time. But he didn't want Tal to feel like he was pushing her aside for someone else. For another woman.
She laid a hand on his arm and smiled up at him. "It's okay, really.
I'll be in my weyr."
He followed her to the door. "You sure?"
She nodded and forced a sultry smile. "You can make it up to me later."
"I will." N'vanik waited until she was a few feet away and closed the door behind her.
Feriana watched Tal leave and then smiled to her old friend and lover.
"Well well, she's lovely Nik. Quite a catch."
He snorted. "I didn't really catch her. It's ... well, it's a long story." One he didn't feel like telling her.
"I see." Feriana turned to make her way over to the chair that the woman had occupied. She raised an eyebrow at the pair of knitting needles and partially finished...something. She picked them up and tossed them onto a table. "So," She asked, lowering herself into the chair. "Did you miss me?"
"Once in a while," he teased.
"Only once in a while?" Feriana crossed her legs and leaned forward.
"Surely you've thought of me. I've thought of you."
"You have?" He sat on the arm of the couch. "And what kind of thoughts do you have of me?"
Feriana laughed softly, then leveled her gaze upon the bronzerider. "Do you have to ask?"
"I like to hear about it." He grinned. "Bronzerider ego, you know."
Feriana pushed herself to a standing position and slowly made her way over to the bronzerider. She leaned against the arm, pressing into him and traced a finger down his cheek and under his chin before offering softly.
"Instead of telling you, how about I show you?"
"Good idea." He took her arm and pulled her down for a kiss.
Feriana leaned into the kiss, returning it feverishly for a moment before pulling back, her fingers playing at his tunic. "Ah, how I've missed you since you left. I should have visited earlier."
"Maybe I should have visited you." After all, she was something like a friend, and he had few enough of those.
"You should." Feriana tugged up his tunic and let her hands slide under it. "Do you think your friend would mind if you gave me a proper welcome, hm?"
He felt a flutter of guilt and pushed it aside. "No. She understands."
At least she said she did. He hoped she really did and wasn't just saying it because she thought that's what he wanted to hear. N'vanik stood and wrapped an arm around Feriana's waist. He bent his head and brushed his lips against her neck. "Let's see if I remember what you like."
"Oh honey," Feriana purred as she began to make quick work of his tunic.
"That's not something I'll easily forget."
