"Mmmmmm. Do you know how good you look from behind?" Treya stood close behind M'van and almost purred into his ear. Her hand reached out and her fingers slowly wound his hair around her hand, to let it fall in a coil at his shoulders. "I enjoyed last night," she purred once again, "but I missed your warmth among the furs this morning."
"Oh Treya," said the bluerider as he turned round, shifting the bulk of his son in his arms.
"You're not pleased to see me?" her smile faltered but the sight of the child in his arms, brought it back again. "You have you hands full," she chuckled throatily, "but I can't be jealous when you have this little sweety in yours arms." She reached up and tickled the child under the chin, "Good morning, little one." her voice was soft and warm, her eyes crinkled slightly at the sides. The sight of M'van with his child, gave her positive hope for the future of their relationship.
The two-turn old child giggled in response to the attention. "I think Talvan liked that, he's what I needed to get back for."
"Oh..I see. Then I guess I can't be angry with you for too long ... can I?"
she smiled from one to the other. Her hand trailed back and forth along the riders arm, "Can I help you with breakfast?" She could adjust to playing mummy, if that was what M'van needed, she could be that; a lover and a mother. She nodded to herself while smiling brightly at the pair.
"Well, my Weyrmate and her brother should be along in a moment or two," he smiled as he thought of them. "You could join us for breakfast though, I'm sure Kitali won't mind."
"Kitali? Oh, yes..." For a moment she had to think, M'van had mentioned something last night, before they dozed off, something about....*Shards! How could I _be_ so _stupid_!* Her smiled never faltered, her eyes never wavered from his; she refused to let him see her confusion. "Well, just as long as you don't feel I'd be crashing a family moment?"
Kitali probably wouldn't mind. While his weyrmate wasn't weyrbred, she had chosen to come to the weyr and make a life here with him and their children.
"She said she needed to meet more people."
Treya could feel herself becoming deeper enmeshed in the situation, why was it she always found the ones who were already weyrmated, or the ones who just didn't want or need a relationship. Kitali was lucky, she had a handsome mate and a lovely child; while she..."Great, I'm always up for more friends!" her smile was bright, but her eyes had lost some of their twinkle.
"She'll like you, I promise."
"It won't be _awkward_?" Treya asked, her eyebrows furrowed as she watched the riders reaction. "I mean.._we_ spent last night together.."
"She's my weyrmate. She might not be a rider herself, but she knows that sometimes for riders this happens. And our relationship began as a result of a flight."
Treya's smile brightened perceptably, "Just as long as I don't have her throwing me deadly looks..." she gave a halfhearted laugh, "It's been known to happen before." Too many times to count since hse had become a rider, but she tried not to dwell on those times. "So, tell me about your weyrmates brother.." once again her mood lightened, the idea of another male -
possibly available, gave her encouragement.
"Dekit? He's a Woodcrafter, he'll get his mastery soon enough."
"Hmmm... a woodcrafter." Treya's smile widened, "A nice big, strong man..
who likes women I hope?" She'd been bitten like that once before, falling for a big, strong woodsman, only to find out he was into other men. Such a waste!
"Maybe she'll introduce you."
"So, what's he like?" took up two plates from the servery and nudged M'van along. "I'll get your brekky, you tell me about this hunk of a woodcrafter!" she urged.
"Tall, brown hair, well built." And he was, although not the same sort of build as a dragonrider developed over the turns. "Good with carving, that's what he specialises in. Made some nice toys for the boys."
"And looks?" she didn't mind the odd Thread scar. But a woodcrafter wouldn't have Thread scores - would he, she wondered.
"Well the ladies seem to like him," said M'van. "I've not really noticed myself," although he had looked.
"That's all I need to know!" she glanced around the cavern, and then finished loading the plates. "Come on, let's go sit, they can catch up with us after." she was filled with anticipation, her gaze flashing back and forth from M'van's back, to the entrance to the dining cavern. M'van had been good, even satisfying, as far as mating flights went, but since he was taken, she had to tell herself to let him go. A shame really, his body was good, but surely a woodcrafter would be built as well?
"They will indeed."
