Oria

Oria

Jenasie, surfaced, in an explosion of water, she took automatically to treading water. She looked around her, briefly wondering where her cheeky dolphin partner had gone. With a flick of water to her right Zarias surfaced, the dolphin gave what might have been a laugh and Jenasie gave her a rub. "I have to go for a bit" She told Zarias and the seven turn old dolphin vanished back under the waves to go find her friends.

The dolphineer reached the beach again; and pushed wet hair out of her face just as a small trill was heard. Her brown firelizard; Chino was flying around erratically. **Hey calm down I wasn't gone _that_ long** She bethought the flit, even if he didn't always understand.

Orlan saw the brown flit and was drawn toward it. Anything that even looked like a dragon got his attention.

Chino stopped flying around like an idiot and then spotting Orlan he gave a trill. The firelizard then flew straight at the Apprentice. Jenasie gave a sigh as he did, and faced Orlan. "Sorry about that he gets a bit over excited at times"

Orlan smiled, "Does he carry messages?" he asked. It was the same question he asked anyone with a firelizard.

She smiled "When he feels like it, other times he just sits there and ignores me" She closed the last few steps between them. "Not nearly as reliable as a dragon would be."

"Do you think he might try to find a dragon? If I asked him too?"

Jenasie shrugged "I don't see why not" The brown firelizard came and sat on her shoulder, "All you really need is a clear picture of them" Chino gave a chirp as if to agree.

Calling to mind the beautiful green who'd been the answer to his hopes he glanced at the firelizard. "How's that?"

Chino Chipped ~~Green Dragon, Pretty~~ Came the image back to the two of them and Jenasie smiled. "I think he's got it"

"Could he carry this to the green and tell her it's for her rider?"

Chino gave his wings a ruffle ~~Pretty Green~~ then he looked at Orlan ~~Rider~~. She smiled and gave him a pat. "Yes he gets it, the message is for the pretty green and her rider" Jenasie looked at Orlan "Go ahead, he's happy to"

Orlan attached the note the little brown's leg and watched him leave. He devoutly hoped the Searchrider would get the note.

~Searchrider Oria I asked you if I could send a note letting you know of my father's decision. He stated that he did not wish me to Stand at the hatching. I haven't changed my mind and would still like to attend. If you would be so kind as to come and get me for the hatching, I would be forever grateful.
Apprentice Orlan.

The flit emerged over Degrorth on her ledge, squealing his pleasure at finding the one he wanted.

}:A little one is here for you!:{ called the green to her rider.

Oria came over and retrieved his message. A worried and thoughtful look crossed her face, before she went inside her weyr to write a reply.

Apprentice Orlan, I'm sorry, but as your father has said that he has denied your search, I cannot go against his wishes. I can only hope that he may change his mind in the future. If that should happen, then please let me know and I can make arrangements for you to come to the weyr.

Oria, Degrorth's rider Chino gave soft coon as he winked out from /between/ again; between Jenasie and Orlan he landed on Orlan's arm and offered his leg holding the message. Jenasie smiled looking at the pair of them "Good news I hope"

Orlan read the Searchrider's words and his face fell. He felt tears welling behind his eyes but refused to cry. "She won't be coming."

She walked over to him and Chino angled his wedge shaped head and head butted Orlan, as If to tell him not to be sad. **Who?** she asked in her mind as she looked at him and decided to voice the question "Who?"

"The Searchrider, her dragon said I'd make a good candidate, but my father said no. She said she can't come to get me."

Her first thought was**congratulations on getting searched* but the fact that his father wouldn't let him go put a frown on her face, mentally. She looked at him "No; I'm sure if you asked the right people you could talk your father into believing that becoming a dragonrider is a great thing" **or so Az'uka has lead be to believe**

"He doesn't think so." He sighed.

"Neither did my mother, and she was married to one; when Az'uka talked with her she realized that even though she didn't want him to leave, It was the greatest thing that happened to him" She looked at Orlan. "Would your father be willing to talk to another dragonrider about it?"

"I don't know, he said I'm too young to know what I want. I don't know if a rider talking to him would help or not."

"I think that most people never know what they want, Az'uka had thought of Impression, but when it happened it took him by surprise" She gave Chino a little pat "If you want I can let him know you might wish to talk to him or have him talk with your father. Az'uka may be at Dragonsfall Weyr, but he's still my brother."

"Maybe, what colour dragon does he ride?"

Chino gave a bright little chirp and conveyed the image ~~Twilight Blue Dragon~~ Which Jenasie knew to be Nilzuth. She gave a smile "Blue, he rides the blue Nilzuth"

Orlan winced. He wasn't sure how his father would take a bluerider speaking on his behalf.

Jenasie caught the wince and knew what was going through Orlan's mind and she gave a small sigh. "Don't worry about it was just an offer"

"Thanks anyway." Orlan wanted to cry. He was _so_ close to the Weyr and now he couldn't go.

She shifted a little un-awkwardly, wanting to help, but couldn't think of any other way to help, other than wish for it to happen. She truly hoped that Orlan would be able to go _and_ Impress.

"Thanks for trying Jenasie." he told her and turned to walk away. "You too Chino"

"Sorry I couldn't help more Orlan..." **I wish you the best of luck** Chino gave a happy chirp as Orlan turned; it was as if the Firelizard was wishing him luck too.
