O'rosin

O'rosin

O'rosin lingered just long enough to help Cirina drag the baskets of food and drink inside, and make sure that his few personal items and supplies to bring home were tucked away in the bedroom. His single-person weyr was small, but tucked into the far cliffside facing the ocean. A party in a rider's weyr wouldn't raise much suspicion, although his neighbors would find the noise unusual.

He could have stayed- many of the candidates had been candidates when he was in the barracks- but he fully intended to be in his jammies at a reasonable time. He reminded her about making sure folks didn't rifle through his things (especially the craft drawer) and that Aeoluth could come get him if she needed him. Then he was off, Aeoluth circling around to the weyrbowl to drop his rider off on Skadith's ledge. Then he was off again, wheeling to the designated pick-up area Cirina had showed him earlier that day; far enough from the candidate barracks that it may not be easily suspicious, close enough that anyone with swiped wine or snacks didn't need to stand out in the open.

Kaedin had been busy still placing decorations and missed O'rosin's departure. He wasn't too worried though, he still had a few things to hang that Cirina had left him, and he was sure the brownrider would be back to collect him shortly…he had to be.

Cirina always felt better when she was managing something, and tonight was no exception. Gone were the pre-hatching jitters as she surveyed the hap-hazardly decorated weyr. As a final touch, she put a ribbon around the craft drawer and a threatening note- “IF RIBBON BREAKS, PARTY ENDS” and stuck her head out the ledge to see Aeoluth delivering the first of the party arrivals. “Oh, you're just in time!”

"Hard not to be, when the service is so excellent!" Rhysalen said brightly after the required scratches and praise for Aeoluth's hard work. He presented her with a flask of rum. "What did you do to get an entire weyr all to yourself?"

“I single-handedly dragged Aeoluth and O’rosin through Weyrlinghood,” Cirina said seriously. “O’rosin owes me his first born, but I’m settling for a party.”

"I'll need to follow your lead next time." Rhysalen deadpanned, though he threw an arm across Kaedin's shoulders as he did. "You'll let me nurse you and your dragonet back to health if you're mauled on the hatching sands, won't you Kaedin? I don't know as much as you but I am a great helper."

Kaedin gave Rhysalen a half-hearted smile while trying to catch the eye of Cirina. He had all but let her know he didn't intend to stay for the party, but he was beginning to feel like his plans and hers didn't align. Worse, Cirina didn't seem like the type to let her plans fail.

Cirina snagged the flask of rum from Rhysalen, helping herself to a heavy swig before offering it to Kaedin. “Let’s just ALL try to get dragons and also not get ourselves mauled. I like that plan a lot better.”

"I'm down for a little injury if it means I can get nursed back to health by someone handsome." Rhysalen answered with a grin.

Kaedin hesitated briefly before taking the flask. Frankly he was a bit uncomfortable with the conversation, really with how at ease they were about the potential for Impression, something he agonized about it seemed every waking moment. And several sleeping moments if he was being honest.

The brown skinned apprentice dragonhealer tipped the flask in salute before taking a long drink…and then another. It didn't look like he was leaving anytime soon anyway.

“To Jossenth making dreams reality” he said as a bit of heat began to creep up his face.

"To Jossenth!" Rhysalen repeated cheerily. He took the flask once Kaedin was done and took a shot himself before passing it along to the next candidate. "Enjoy it while you can-- with any luck, we won't be able to have fun like this for a long time."

“Fingers crossed!” Cirina said brightly, “Let’s just hope they don’t decide to hatch at dawn tomorrow.”
