Description: N'kayden isn't _too_ disappointed that he lost Ketlyn's flight.
Location: Barrier Lake Weyr
Date: month 6, day 2 of Turn 12
N'kayden was slammed back into his body the moment Aberath plunged into the Weyrlake in bitter disappointment. Everything felt disjointed, like he didn't belong inside his own head anymore. His eyes registered Ketlyn and R'bain locked in each other's arms, and then the other riders who were stumbling toward the door out of the flight room.
**Out!** Yes, out was what he needed. Maybe if he could get to the door, get some fresh air on his face, then perhaps the burning in his lungs and the ache in his muscles would begin to clear.
Shouldering past V'dryn on his way out the door, N'kayden found himself looking into a pair of very familiar eyes. Lynavia. And suddenly, the desire for fresh air was a different desire altogether.
She slid her hands up his arms and pulled him close for a kiss, her mouth as eager as his. When they came up for air a moment later she caught his hands in her own and pulled him toward one of the flight cots. "If you want..."
N'kayden wasn't sure what he said exactly, but soon Lynaiva was in his arms and nothing else mattered.
--
How did anyone around the Weyr get any work done when _this_ sort of pleasure was at their disposal, N'kayden wondered as the last waves of pleasure ebbed through his body. Aberath hadn't even won, but N'kayden certainly felt like a winner with someone like Lynavia lying next to him.
The woman in question rolled over to study him, one hand beneath her chin. "That was fun. How are you feeling?"
"Like a very lucky guy," N'kayden said truthfully. He turned his head to look at Lynavia. She was beautiful and sensual and could have grabbed any man leaving that flight. He was fortunate.
She smiled. "That's right, you are. But I am sorry that Aberath didn't catch Varinth. I was cheering for him."
"I really wanted him to win, too," N'kayden said. "It would be nice to show Ketlyn that I'm not the same bumbling idiot in the bedroom as I once was." He winked at Lynavia. "Thanks to a very good teacher."
Lynavia smiled. "I'm sure you'll get your chance. All that practice isn't going to go to waste, I promise."
N'kayden fell quiet again for a moment before saying, "I hope R'bain is nice to her." It went without saying who "her" was.
"I'm sure he will be. And if not, just tell me and I'll make sure that he's getting all the burnt bits at mealtimes for the next month." Girls had to stick together, even ones that had never met.
The thought of R'bain getting burnt food for the following month made N'kayden smile. Taking Lynavia's hand, N'kayden pressed a kiss to her knuckles. "I hope we get to do this again sometime," he said, before turning to look for his clothing.
She watched him dress from the comfort of the bed. "Me too."
