Description: V'tian chooses T'lin for one of the most important Weyrling rites.
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 1, day 21 of Turn 12
As soon as the dragons landed in the Weyrbowl, T'lin stripped off his
riding jacket and slid down Calaroth's forearm. He stepped up to V'tian as he dismounted. "I had a good time today. My evening is free if you'd like to spend more time together." He watched the young greenrider carefully.
Indith landed with a bit more of a prance than usual, hop-skipping forward before settling enough to allow her rider to dismount. }:That was fun!:{ She announced.
V'tian hesitated, but only a _little_, shoulders squaring. "... I'd like that too." He offered, and added a smile. "That Gather was fun. With you I mean."
T'lin returned the smile. "Would you like to go to your weyr, or mine? There's no rush, we can just talk if you like."
"... I haven't had much time or funds to decorate my weyr." V'tian admitted. "... But if you don't mind that, we can go there. Indith said Calaroth told her you're weyrmated. I don't want to impose any more than we have." The flush of colour crept further up his neck. "I'm not saying my place isn't comfortable, I mean. Just that... It's not too full of my stuff yet."
"This is about _you_ being more comfortable," T'lin said. "So if you'd rather go to your weyr, we can do that. I don't mind an empty weyr."
"... Indith will show Calaroth where to go." V'tian decided, turned to clamber back onto his green.
The bluerider hopped up to Calaroth's neck and his dragon followed Indith up to the ledge of V'tian's weyr. }:I could sun with you while our riders talk,:{ Calaroth said.
}: I accept your offer.:{ Indith responded, and shook out her wings when V'tian dismounted; she paused only a moment for him to lay a hand on her shoulder, before nudging at Calaroth and soaring away again.
"... Well. This is my weyr." V'tian said, after a moment of silence. ".. Come on in."
The bluerider followed him in and glanced around. "There's nothing wrong with a blank canvas. It means you're starting fresh."
"That's true." V'tian agreed. "And now I can have all my own things."
"Did you ever have a space of your own before?" T'lin asked.
V'tian shook his head. "... No. Had to share with my younger brothers. I- Our- _the_ cothold wasn't big." He responded. "And then I was in the Barracks. It's.... odd. Being by myself. But I kind of _like_ it."
T'lin took a seat on the couch. "What's your favorite thing about having your own weyr?"
"Not having to sleep in with a bunch of other people _and_ their dragons." V'tian responded immediately. "The privacy is so nice. Even if I'm stuck in with the Weyrlingmasters for a few months yet."
He sighed gustily, and then with a spark of daring, sat down right next to T'lin.
"And I get to decorate how I want."
"And you can have guests over." T'lin gently bumped V'tian's shoulder to see how he would react.
V'tian glanced at him, and then seemed to decide something and nudged back, shoulder to shoulder, leaning into the contact. This had to be done.... And T'lin wasn't half bad to look at. Indith even liked Calaroth, and that was what mattered, after all.
T'lin smiled. "You're in control here, V'tian. Whether we talk or do something else, that's up to you." He gently traced a finger along V'tian's arm. "So what would you like to do?"
"I think... I think that I would like to kiss you." V'tian said, after a moment, startled at his own boldness.
T'lin's smile turned warmer, glad that V'tian was getting braver. "Please do." He leaned closer.
V'tian mimicked his action, and with one last mental check on Indith-- who was distracted with Calaroth anyway-- closed the last little bit of distance and kissed T'lin.
The bluerider moved his lips gently against V'tian's, not pressing anything, letting the greenrider decide if he wanted to deepen the kiss. It was clear V'tian hadn't kissed anyone before, but T'lin didn't mind.
V'tian might not have kissed anyone before, but he was stubborn, determined, and learned exceptionally quickly when he _felt_ like it.
And he definitely felt like it, mimicking T'lin and then taking the lead, deepening the kiss.
T'lin hummed his appreciation and slid his hand into V'tian's hair. Teaching him might be a lot more fun than he'd thought.
