}:Jesriath is rising,:{ Iorath informed R'nar.

R'nar could feel the bronze's hesitation. **Go get her, then,** he told his lifemate. He left the table of wingmates he'd been eating with and walked slowly toward the flight room, his heart pounding. Iorath had won green flights before where the rider was a man. In the past, R'nar hadn't given them a second thought. Everything was nice, polite, cordial, and then he went his way and continued about his day as if nothing had happened.

Today, however, should Iorath catch Jesriath, and should Th'rynn be amenable, R'nar needed to see if he could... if he had _desire_ for another man. Or if he desire was just for A'vel, _OR_ if his dreams were just that, dreams.

Nerves jittered in his stomach as he stepped into the flight room, where other riders already waited. Th'rynn stood in the center. R'nar wasn't sure if he was gay, or anything else, but he had eyes and knew that Th'rynn was considered a highly attractive man.

His dark hair and eyes, the bronze nature of his skin, the breadth of his shoulders, and the muscular nature of his body made him a highly sought-after bed partner.

R'nar exhaled slowly. There was no backing out now. He closed his eyes and joined fully with Iorath.

--

As the euphoric feelings of the mating flight ebbed, R'nar became slowly aware of himself. He was aware of Th'rynn's hard, sweat-slicked body wrapped around his own, and he was aware that his lips felt bruised from kissing. They both collapsed onto the bed.

Neither said a word as they lay on their backs, panting and letting the last of the good feelings wash away from their bodies.

"That was _excellent_," Th'rynn said in a raspy voice.

"It was," R'nar agreed, knowing it was what he should say.

"I've never seen you at Jesriath's flights before," the greenrider said.

"Iorath doesn't chase as often as he would like," R'nar chuckled. "He was happy to chase today."

Th'rynn turned onto his side, looking for any hints from the handsome bronzerider that he might want to spend some more time in the flight room.

"Are you planning on... sticking around?" the greenrider asked.

Here it was, R'nar thought, the moment of truth. The moment where he tried to figure himself out.

"Yeah, I am," R'nar whispered.

Th'rynn's dark eyes glowed with pleasure at the answer. The greenrider pulled R'nar close and brought their lips together. Lips that had only just parted moments before. Lips that were intimately familiar with one another...

So why did it feel so... awkward? Why did it not feel like it felt before?

Without Jesriath and Iorath's heightened flight lust, it just wasn't the same.

Th'rynn pulled back. "Uh oh, you're not into this, are you?"

"I wanted to... try." R'nar felt embarrassment creep up the back of his neck.

"Of course you did. Who wouldn't want to _try_ with _me_?" Th'rynn's question was good-natured.

The greenrider's tone of voice actually brought out a laugh from R'nar. "I was so afraid you would be offended."

"People like what they like," Thr'ynn said with a wave of his hand.

"Well, _thank you_ for a good flight," R'nar said.

"No, thank _you_."

The pair rolled out of the bed then and began to dress. Th'rynn was just about to leave the flight room when he looked over his shoulder and said, "I'm having a dragonpoker game at my place the day after tomorrow. You should come."

R'nar, who hadn't yet made a real friend at Barrier Lake, nodded his head. "I will."
