Description: R'nar is plagued by a dream.
Location: Barrier Lake Weyr
Date: month 1, day 18 of Turn 11

Slender hands, harper hands, gliding over his body. Fingers calloused
from instrument strings tracing a path down his abdomen and then
wrapping themselves firmly around his -
R'nar jerked awake, bolting upright and casting his eyes about his
darkened weyr for a bewilderingly dizzy moment. The sheets pooled at
his waist, a light sheen of perspiration covered his skin, and he was
panting.
Panting from... Surprise? Desire? _Need_?
Seeing nothing unusual that should have woken him up, he collapsed
back into his pillows, and as soon as his eyes closed, he fell right
back into his dream....
Familiar blue eyes smiled into his. Something about those eyes made
him feel warm, comforted, something about them felt like... Home?
Those blue eyes took on a wicked glint as the feeling of lips pressed
against his bare flesh sent a spiral of electricity through him.
_Those_lips_.
Those lips were suddenly on his, as if reacting immediately to his
thoughts, and he found them as warm and velvety soft as he
remembered.... He remembered?
Yes, he remembered. These were lips he had tasted before, he just
hadn't had the sense to notice how delicious they'd tasted then.
Those lips were on his neck, driving him wild with need. And then
those lips were following the path the harper hands had blazoned down
his body.
Raising on his elbows, he looked down just in time to see those blue
eyes smoldering up at him before those lips enclosed around his -
WHOA! R'nar bolted upright again, this time coming to lucidity in a
whiplash of realization. Tossing back his blanket, he sighed. **I'm
going to need clean sheets.** _That_ hadn't happened since he'd been
a Weyrling permitted from having sex.
His thoughts were muddled as bits of the dream hovered illusively at
the edges of his mind, making it hard for him to fully grasp what
exactly he'd been dreaming about. Padding barefoot to his washbasin,
R'nar splashed cool water on his face, the droplets feeling
refreshingly cool against his warm skin.
As he studied the reflection of his own eyes in the mirror, fragments
of the dream came into focus.
The harper hands. The blue eyes. _Those_lips_.
He knew those hands. He knew those eyes. He knew _those_lips_.
They all belonged to A'vel.
"A'vel?!" he said the name out loud in a confused whisper. A sex dream
about... A'vel?
His brow furrowed as he went about stripping his bedding. A dream was
a dream, he thought, but he'd never had a sex dream about a friend
before, especially not a man.
As he gathered a set of fresh sheets from the trunk at the foot of his
bed, another thought, slightly more reassuring, came to him. He'd just
won A'vel's mating flight.
"That's it," he said to himself. "Iorath just flew Tsogath. My brain
is still fresh with mating flight memories." A slight chuckle of...
relief?... escaped from him. A'vel would think this was funny.
Wouldn't he?
R'nar intrinsically reached out to Iorath, but the bronze was sleeping
peacefully on his ledge.
Crawling back into his bed, R'nar gave his pillow a few punches to get
it just right and then laid back down. Sleep wasn't soon in coming,
however, as every time he closed his eyes, a certain pair of harper
hands and familiar lips were there to haunt him again.
He allowed himself to toss and turn for another candlemark before
finally deciding that he'd done all the sleeping he could do that
night.
The euphoric effects of the dream lingered on his body, slipping him a
counterfeit of how he normally felt after sex. If anything the dream
had served to make his body _crave_ physical touch even more. It was a
craving he'd not had in a long time, not since Ranni's death.
His mind began thumbing through the index of people he knew at Barrier
Lake, people that wouldn't mind a casual interlude in the furs. People
that he'd dallied with before, even.
His roving mind hovered momentarily on a person... Kapera. They
weren't strangers and they'd shared a nice moment together when he'd
been at Dolphin Cove.
**Most importantly, she's _female_,** a tiny voice in his brain piped
in. As if her being _female_ was suddenly _very_ important.
Yes, Kapera, he decided, thinking he would try to seek the Weyrwoman out later.
