Description: N'call helps Ninaine relax a little
Location: Barrier Lake Weyr
Date: month 9, day 2 of Turn 10
Ninaine rubbed her lower back as she stepped into her weyr, feet
aching as she yawned. It had been a long day and she'd been running
messages between Jayzine and Kapera, then helping with an initial
inventory of supplies in the kitchens. Since retirement, she'd gotten
unused to lifting heavy items and her body felt it. Sighing, she
closed her eyes and stretched, thankful that the children's foster
mother was understanding of the abrupt change in plans. She'd meant to
have the children with her for the evening, but Faranth, she just
didn't have the energy tonight.
N'call stood in the main room with a smile and two glasses of wine.
"Well you look exhausted," he said.
Ninaine opened her eyes, surprised at the sound of N'call's voice.
The sight of him, and the glasses of wine, brought a tired smile to
her face. "I am. It's been a very busy day." She gratefully took an
offered glass. "Oh thank you. You knew just what I needed."
"I rather thought it would be," he smiled and put an arm around her
leading toward the couch.
Following him, Ninaine sat gladly on the couch, taking a sip of wine
before putting it on a side table to start pulling off her boots. "I
had no idea I was so out of shape, N'call. I haven't lifted so many
heavy things since I was fighting Thread. I know I can get used to it,
but shells, I can't even remember being this tired as a weyrling."
"Oh you were, Trust me," he chuckled. "Give me your feet," he said
and patted his lap.
Ninaine looked at him and gave a slight smile. "Maybe. I just don't
remember it being this bad. I was always thinking of other things."
She lifted her feet and slowly placed them in his lap. "You know
they've been in boots all day, right?" Her toes curled, then flexed,
stretching out as she sighed. "I think I need better boots."
"Then we'll get you some," N'call nodded as he began to knead one of
her feet and rub the area that appeared reddened. "We'll tell Jayzine
you need some new boots and she'll fix you right up." He smiled at
her.
"You have a thousand turns to stop doing that," Ninaine groaned, eyes
closing in utter bliss as his callused hands found just the spot that
was aching in her arch of her foot. "That feels perfect." A smile
lifted the corners of her lips and for the first time in what seemed
like forever, she began to feel truly relaxed. Without the children
and in the quiet of the weyr, she enjoyed just being alone with him.
He smiled as she melted right in front of him and continued by
switching to the other foot. "Well, that will make it quite a long
time until I can get to your back."
Her head lifted and her eyes looked hopeful and pleased. "You're going
to give me a back massage?" He hadn't done that in...Faranth...since
shortly after they weyrmated. Her toes wiggled as he moved to another
foot, then spread in pleasure. "Ah... You're good at that..."
"Of course I am," he said softly and finished up on the second foot.
"But now it's time to move to the bed. Bring your wine." he smiled
picking up his own glass.
"But that means I have to get up." She smiled and slowly sat up.
Pleased, she picked up her wine and walked to the bed, taking a sip
before loosening her trousers enough to drop them and kick them to the
side. She readily laid on her stomach and gave a slow sigh, a smile
pulling up on her lips.
"Tunic too sweet," he chuckled. "Unless you really want me to oil it."
She wasn't going to complain about _that_. Pulling herself up, she
lifted just enough to tug the tunic off and lay bare as a babe on the
bed. Taking a sip of her wine, she sighed and wiggled in anticipation.
N'call chuckled and admired the wiggle before he put down his glass on
the table and straddled Ninaine on the bed. He dripped oil on her
skin and began first with her shoulders kneading carefully to moderate
his strength yet get deep into her offending muscles. "How's this?"
The tickle of the oil made her giggle softly, but that little sound
quickly became a soft groan as his fingers kneaded into her sore
muscles. Her eyes fluttered closed and she began to better relax
against knowledgeable fingers. "Oh...Why haven't you done this before?
This is perrrrfect."
He chuckled. "Oh what a selective memory you have." he growled in her
ear. "I did this several times when you were a weyrling and getting
into condition for tossing those firestone sacks around."
She shivered at the soft growl; she _loved_ it when he did that.
Arching against his touch, Ninaine murmured softly. "Mmm...I must have
forgotten and I just needed a good reminding." She groaned when his
fingers found a particularly sore knot between her shoulder blades.
"AH...right there, N'call."
"Right there?" He pressed where he felt the knot until it seemed to
release and then his fingers went on to find another and another.
"You need to get back in shape, love."
"Right there..." She sighed, then frowned as she looked over her
shoulder at him. "I'm trying, N'call. It's a bit harder when I'm not
flying thread with Luneth, you know. ""
"I'll help you," he promised. "How is Luneth feeling these days? Do
you think she could fly a partial drill?"
Ninaine sighed, resting her chin back on her arms. "She can't even do
a full mating flight, N'call. She's getting stronger, but the strain
is too rough on her wing joint. Even after a mating flight she's sore
and won't try to fly the next day."
"What do the dragonhealers say? Will exercise help strengthen it even a little?"
She shook her head. "No. The muscles are fine. It's the joint that's
the problem. It's not strong enough anymore." She sighed deeply. "The
dragonhealers say that her joint will probably always ache and pain
her if she pushes it. Something about the healing process." She turned
her head to lay on her cheek. "I'll just have to eat less."
"I'm sorry sweetheart," N'call said softly. "You don't need to eat
less," a hand stroked down the curve of her thigh. "I like your curves
just the way they are."
"But I do need to get in shape, like you said. I'm out of shape and I
know it. The twins took a toll on me, N'call."
"Yes," he agreed. Child bearing was hard on women. He knew that and
knew she'd gone through a great deal. His hands gentled from massage
to stroking her skin sensuously. "I'll do what I can to help you
love," he said as he enfolded her.
Ninaine's eyes closed in pleasure at the embrace and his touch. "I'll
exercise. I promise. You can't help me do that; we're both too busy."
She rolled over to look up at him, then lifted a hand to trail over
his shoulder. "I missed you so much."
"And I missed you more than I can say," he smiled then he pulled her
close again and stroked her hair. "So much."
She nuzzled his shoulder with a soft sigh. "Are you staying with me tonight?"
"If you'll have me," he chuckled and lifted a leg over her hip.
She grinned against his warmth and wiggled her hips again. "When have I
ever not?"
He grinned. "I do love you Nina," he said using his pet name for her
though he knew she didn't like it.
She wrapped her arms around his ribs and kissed his shoulder lightly,
once, then again. "So why don't you show me?"
"Glad to sweetness, " he growled in her ear and began to show her very
thoroughly just what he meant.
